Programa: O curso tem por objetivo discutir e compreender a relação entre

comunicação, tecnologia e o cenário político no Brasil e no mundo no
final da década de 2010. Introduzindo a discussão, é apresentada a
ascensão de uma nova direita, de viés populista e conservador, em
diferentes países e continentes, como principal fenômeno político
contemporâneo. Completando a primeira parte do curso, são trazidas
possíveis interpretações para esses fenômenos que levam em conta: a
mobilização identitárias e organização em rede; a reação dos grupos
privilegiados aos movimentos contestatórios em um contexto de crise
econômica; a ofensiva política e cultural do neoliberalismo, provocando
efeitos contraditórios entre condições materiais de vida e subjetivação;
a negação da crise ambiental e o abandono da solidariedade e da ideia de
comum; e o desenvolvimento da economia baseada na captação e
processamento de dados pessoais para influir nos comportamentos. Na
segunda parte do curso, essas interpretações são reforçadas e/ou
discutidas a partir de alguns temas e casos empíricos em contextos
bastante diversos, mas que se combinam na composição do cenário político
atual tendo tecnologias de comunicação por internet como fio condutor.
