Nortzuk garen?

Egun izenak dio “CP ALTZAGA IKASTOLA LHI” Leioa.

Baina benetan nortzuk garen jakin nahi badugu atzerantza egin behar dugu denboran,
1968, 1969 edo 1970 urteetara.

Euskaraz irakasterik ez zegoen denbora hartan guraso talde batek “Altzaga” Ikastola
sortu zuen Erandion, eta beste guraso talde batek “Elexalde” Ikastola Leioan.

1972/1973 ikasturtean ikastola biak bateratzea erabaki zuten guraso talde biek, eta
Cooperativa de Enseñanza Altzaga Ikastola jarri zioten izena sortu zuten ikastolari.
Ikasturte bat geroago, 1973/1974 ikasturtean, Leioako Ondiz auzoko baserri batetan
eraiki zen ikastola. Zalantzarik ez dugu: hasierako guraso eta irakasle horiei –eskerrik
asko eta zorionak!-, eta ondoren izan diren irakasleei eta milaka gurasoei, zor diegu
gaur egun garena.

Eta zer gara gaur egun? Haur eta Lehen Hezkuntzako Ikastola publikoa -1994an
publifikatu zen-, lerro bikoa, 2004/2005 ikasturtetik eraikuntza berriztuta duena, eta
orainaren eta geroaren erronka guztiei –euskara, eleaniztasuna, IKT-ak, elkarbizitza, ...-
gogoz eta ilusio handiz begiratzen diena. Bai horixe!

¿Quiénes somos?

En la actualidad nuestro nombre es “CP ALTZAGA IKASTOLA LHI” Leioa.

Pero si de verdad queremos saber quiénes somos tenemos que volver atrás en el tiempo,
a los años 1968, 1969 o 1970.

En aquellos años la enseñanza en euskara era una quimera, un imposible. De todas

formas, gracias a un puñado de personas que amaban el euskara y que creyeron que lo
imposible se puede hacer posible, se crearon la ikastola “Altzaga” en Erandio y la
ikastola “Elexalde” en Leioa.

En el curso 1972/73 se unificaron las dos ikastolas bajo el nombre de Cooperativa de

Enseñanza Altzaga Ikastola. Un curso más tarde, el curso 1973/1974, se construyó el
edificio que albergó inicialmente a la ikastola en un caserío en el barrio de Ondiz en
Leioa. No tenemos dudas: es a aquellas familias y a aquellos profesores y profesoras del
comienzo -¡muchas gracias y enhorabuena!- y a todas las familias y profesores y
profesoras que han venido después, a los que debemos lo que somos ahora.

¿Y qué somos en el año 2011? Una ikastola pública de Infantil y Primaria –se publificó
en el año 1994-, de dos líneas, que cuenta con un edificio nuevo e instalaciones
renovadas desde el curso 2004/2005, y que mira con ilusión y con muchas ganas a todos
los retos –euskara, multilingüísmo, TIC-s, convivencia,…- del presente y del futuro.
Who are we?

Our current name is “CP ALTZAGA IKASTOLA LHI” Leioa.

But if we really want to know who we are, we have to go about forty years back, to the
years 1968, 1969 and 1970.

In those years, teaching and learning in Euskara was nearly impossible. However, and
thanks to a bunch of families who loved the language and believed that impossible
dreams can become true, two Basque schools or ikastolas were founded: “Altzaga” in
Erandio and “Elexalde” in Leioa.

In the 1972/1973 school year both ikastolas merged under Cooperativa de Enseñanza
Altzaga Ikastola name. In the1973/1974 school year these families bought some land
and a farm in Ondiz, Leioa, and built a school, a place for the new ikastola. We have no
doubts, we owe what we are now to these families and to the teachers who began this
long journey and to all the families who have brought their children to our school and to
all the teachers who have taught them afterwards.

And what are we in 2011? An Infant and Primary State Ikastola- it became a state
ikastola in 1994-, with two classrooms on each grade, with a new building and renewed
facilities since the 2004/2005 school year, and with a very positive attitude towards all
the present and future challenges –Euskara, multilinguism, TICs, …
