SOLAR HYBRID
SYSTEM
TURNKEY PROJECT What is Solar Hybrid System?

 Design Solar hybrid power systems are hybrid power systems that
 Engineering combine solar power from a photovoltaic system with
 Procurement another power generating energy source. A common type is
 Consultancy a photovoltaic diesel hybrid system, combining
photovoltaic (PV) and diesel generators, or diesel gensets,
EPC CONTRACTOR as PV has hardly any marginal cost and is treated with
priority on the grid. The diesel gensets are used to
 Engineering constantly fill in the gap between the present load and the
 Procurement actual generated power by the PV system. To improve the
 Consultancy efficiency of the system further either cogeneration
or trigeneration can be used.
OPERATION & As solar energy is fluctuating, and the generation capacity of
MAINTENANCE the diesel genesets is limited to a certain range, it is often a
viable option to include battery storage in order to optimize
solar's contribution to the overall generation of the hybrid
 Operate & Maintain SHS Power system In 2015, a case-study conducted in seven countries
Plant concluded that in all cases generating costs can be reduced
 Breakdown Analysis & Reporting by hybridising mini-grids and isolated grids. However,
on SHS System financing costs for diesel-powered electricity grids with solar
 SHS Power Plant Rehabilitations photovoltaic are crucial and largely depend on the
ownership structure of the power plant. While cost
reductions for state-owned utilities can be significant, the
study also identified economic benefits to be insignificant or
even negative for non-public utilities, such as independent
power producers.

Other solar hybrids include solar-wind systems. The

combination of wind and solar PV has the advantage that
the two sources complement each other because the peak
operating times for each system occur at different times of
the day and year. The power generation of such a hybrid
system is therefore more constant and fluctuates less than
each of the two component subsystems. (wikipedia 2015)

SOLAR FARM
POWER PLANT
What is Solar Power Plant?
TURNKEY PROJECT A photovoltaic power station, also known as a solar park, is
 Design a large-scale photovoltaic system (PV system) designed for
the supply of merchant power into the electricity grid. They
 Engineering
are differentiated from most building-mounted and other
 Procurement
decentralised solar power applications because they supply
 Consultancy power at the utility level, rather than to a local user or
users. They are sometimes also referred to as solar
EPC CONTRACTOR farms or solar ranches, especially when sited in agricultural
areas. The generic expression utility-scale solar is
 Engineering
sometimes used to describe this type of project.
 Procurement
 Consultancy The solar power source is via photovoltaic modules that
convert light directly to electricity. However, this differs
OPERATION & from, and should not be confused with concentrated solar
power, the other large-scale solar generation technology,
MAINTENANCE which uses heat to drive a variety of conventional generator
systems. Both approaches have their own advantages and
 Operate & Maintain Solar Farm disadvantages, but to date, for a variety of
Power Plant reasons, photovoltaic technology has seen much wider use
 Breakdown Analysis & Reporting in the field. As of 2013, PV systems outnumber
on Solar Farm System concentrators by about 40 to 1.
 Solar Farm Power Plant
In most countries, the nameplate capacity of a photovoltaic
Rehabilitations power stations is rated in megawatt-peak (MWp) and refers
to the solar array's DC power output. However, Canada,
Japan, Spain and some parts of the United States are using a
converted, and therefore lower nominal power output
rated in MW. A third and less common rating is the mega
volt-amperes (MVA). Most solar parks are developed at a
scale of at least 1 MW.

Most of the existing large-scale photovoltaic power stations

are owned and operated by independent power producers,
but the involvement of community- and utility-owned
projects is increasing. To date, almost all have been
supported at least in part by regulatory incentives such
as feed-in tariffs. Levelized costs have fallen significantly in
the last decade and grid parity has been reached in an
increasing number of markets, it may not be long before
external incentives cease to exist.

MINI/MICRO
HYDRO POWER
PLANT
TURNKEY PROJECT What is Mini/Micro Hydro Power Plant?

 Design Small hydro is the development of hydroelectric power on a

 Engineering scale serving a small community or industrial plant. The
 Procurement definition of a small hydro project varies, but a generating
 Consultancy capacity of 1 to 20 megawatts (MW) is generally accepted,
which aligns to the concept of distributed generation. The
EPC CONTRACTOR "small hydro" description may be stretched up to 50 MW .

 Engineering Small hydro can be further subdivided into mini hydro,

 Procurement usually defined as 100 to 1,000 kilowatts (kW), and micro
 Consultancy hydro which is 5 to 100 kW. Micro hydro is usually the
application of hydroelectric power sized for smaller
OPERATION & communities, single families or small enterprise.
Small hydro plants may be connected to conventional
MAINTENANCE electrical distribution networks as a source of low-cost
renewable energy.

 Operate & Maintain Mini/Micro Alternatively, small hydro projects may be built in isolated
Hydro Power Plant areas that would be uneconomic to serve from a network,
 Breakdown Analysis & Reporting or in areas where there is no national electrical distribution
on Mini/Micro Hydro Power network. Since small hydro projects usually have minimal
Plant reservoirs and civil construction work, they are seen as
 Mini/Micro Hydro Power Plant having a relatively low environmental impact compared to
 Rehabilitations large hydro. This decreased environmental impact depends
strongly on the balance between stream flow and power
production. One tool that helps evaluate this issue is the
Flow Duration Curve or FDC. The FDC is a Pareto curve of a
stream's daily flow rate vs. frequency. Reductions of
diversion help the river's ecosystem, but reduce the hydro
system's Return on Investment (ROI). The hydro system
designer and site developer must strike a balance to
maintain both the health of the stream and the economics.

Plants with reservoir, i.e. small storage and small pumped-

storage hydropower plants, can contribute to distributed
energy storage and decentralized peak and balancing
electricity. Such plants can be built to integrate at the
regional level intermittent renewable energy sources.

 Procurement resource for making energy, it most often refers to plants or
 Consultancy plant-based materials which is not used for food or feed,
and are specifically called lignocellulosic biomass. As an
EPC CONTRACTOR energy source, biomass can either be used directly via
combustion to produce heat, or indirectly after converting it
 Engineering to various forms of biofuel. Conversion of biomass to biofuel
 Procurement can be achieved by different methods which are broadly
 Consultancy classified into: thermal, chemical, and biochemical methods.

OPERATION & There are three sources of biomass in energy product

context: 1- Woody source of biomass'(Lignocelluloses) such
