SUBJECT: RESEARCH SUBMISSION AND DEFENCE - DIPLOMA AND


UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Reference is made to the above captioned subject. Further reference is made


to the notice on the same subject dated 4th May, 2020.

As you may be aware, the Covid19 cases have continued to escalate in the
country. In addressing the foregoing, the following are some of the
developments in relation to submission of research project reports:

1. Research Submission deadline:


1.1 The submission of research papers as guided on the
examinations timetable is Thursday, 23 July 2020 08:00 to
Friday, 24 July 2020 17:00 hours.
1.2 Late submissions will not be accepted.

2. Mode of submission for students:

2.1 Only candidates cleared by their supervisors will submit
softcopy of research project paper on Moodle.
2.2 All submitted reports to be in Microsoft word, Times New
Roman, Font 12, Spacing 1.5.
2.3 Hard or scanned copies will not be marked.
2.4 Pdf files will not be marked.
2.5 Supervisors will submit lists of students who have satisfied
the requirements of submitting the research project reports to
coordinators for filtering purposes on Moodle.
2.6 There will be no alternative means of submitting research
project reports other than Moodle.
2.7 Received softcopies will be downloaded by coordinators and
disseminated to the assigned markers.

3. Undergraduates’ research project defence:

3.1 Due to challenges posed by the Covid19 Pandemic, the


undergraduates will not defend their research project reports
as per practice.
3.2 As such, the reports will be marked out of 100%, after which
a panel of experts will convene to moderate all marked reports.
3.3 Candidates with plagiarized reports will be disqualified as per
guidelines contained in the academic regulations on section
7.7.17, and ultimately shall have their results nullified for the
entire examination session for the semester.
