1. e-Support Contents Reference Function

1-1. Overview
This is the function that you can refer to the e-Support contents (Knowledge Base) after it is installed in NAVI. The
e-Support contents can be controlled by pressing the “Offline e-Support” button in “Function Switch”.

This button is displayed only when e-Support contents are installed.
2. Contents combo box
The contents can be selected (Knowledge Base) from this combo box.
According to your selection, the appropriate contents names are listed in the contents list.

According to the contents type, the appropriate contents names are listed here.
If you double-click a target item in this list, the detail content is displayed.

1-3. Installation Procedures


The method to install the e-Support contents is basically the same as the other contents (Service Manual, Parts
Catalog, etc.). For the method to create the xml file which is required at the installation, please refer to the
separately provided xml template.

contents type (Knowledge Base).

contents type you selected are listed, so
double-click a target item.

3. HTML Help window starts, and the target


e-Support content is displayed.

Function Switch
This function can be disabled by changing the setting value from “1” to “0” in the following data:
C:\Canon_SSS2\servicenavigator\ServiceNavigator.ini

Setting value of Operation


“Display”
0 e-Support function is disabled. You cannot install the e-Support contents, or even the
contents have been already installed, “Offline e-Support” cannot be displayed.
1 e-Support function is enabled. (Default for V.2.20)

2. Deletion Function of Login ID and Password Entries

If you change the ini file setting, Login ID and password authentication function can be deleted and you can start the
application without the authentication function.

If you change the ini file setting, login ID and password can be deleted from the Login and Change Setting screens.

If you change the setting value from “1” to “0” in the following data, login ID and password controls can be deleted:

Setting value of Operation


“Display”
0 Authentication using login ID and password is not used. These entries are not
displayed in the Change Setting screen.
1 Authentication using login ID and password is used. These entries can be changed in
the Change Setting screen. (Default for V.2.20)
