GITAM Institute of Pharmacy, with its unique teaching, research and infrastructural standards to meet

1. General Instructions
1.1. Introduction
GIPAT - 2011 will be conducted for admission to UG and PG Programmes in Pharmacy offered
at Visakhapatnam campus.

iii) The filled-in application along with the Demand Draft for ` 600/- drawn in favor of GITAM Institute
of Pharmacy, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, along with the copies of the certificates
of qualifying examinations and other relevant certificates should be sent to the Principal, GITAM
Institute of Pharmacy, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-
530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before the last date for submission of application.
Test Centre
ii) The University reserves the right to cancel any test centre, if required. In such cases, the candidates
who have opted for a centre will be accommodated in an alternate test centre. The final list of
test centres, venues and days of test will be decided only after the cut off date of receipt of applications,
the details of which shall be displayed on the website. Candidates should indicate three different
test centres in order of preference.

1.5. About GIPAT - 2011
i) Candidates should arrive at the test centre one hour before the scheduled time.
ii) All the questions will be in English language only. All the questions will be of multiple choice.
Instructions for answering the questions need to be followed scrupulously.
iii) The test result will be announced within fifteen days from the date of completion of GIPAT-2011.
A candidate who has appeared for GIPAT-2011 will be eligible for admission only if he/she gets
the required minimum marks in the qualifying examination (GIPAT–2011) as per the eligibility criteria
subject to the rule of reservation as per UGC guidelines / norms as applicable to the university.
The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained in the admission
test (GIPAT 2011).
Candidates qualified in GAT 2011 (details on website) are also eligible for admission to B. Pharmacy
programme. GAT 2011 qualified candidates interested in admission to B. Pharmacy programme
can directly attend the counseling for admission. However they have to submit application for
admission separately.
First rank candidates of all central and state boards in India for the year 2011 will be given direct
admission to the B. Pharmacy programme, irrespective of their GIPAT-2011/ GAT (UGT) 2011 score
as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. However they have to submit the application as prescribed.

Programme offered at Visakhapatnam campus.

Candidates have to pay the fees for 1st year at the time of admission and the remaining fees are
to be paid at the time of registration for the respective academic year.

HALL TICKETS
Hall tickets will be sent to candidates by post one week before the date of commencement of
entrance test. In case of non-receipt of hall ticket on time, candidates are advised to download
from www.gitam.edu or contact the office of the Principal, GITAM Institute of Pharmacy, GITAM
University at Tel No. (0891) 2840551 two days before the test date.
Hall ticket should be retained carefully as it has to be produced at the time of counseling/ admission.
Candidates are advised to refer to the instructions to the candidates furnished on the back page
of the Hall Ticket. Candidates are advised to follow the same scrupulously.
Check List
Duly filled in application form along with the prescribed fee of ` 600/-.
Photocopy of SSC/ICSE/CBSE/ Matriculation Certificate in support of date of birth.
Recent passport size colour photographs to be pasted in the right places of application and
the hall ticket.
Photocopy of the original degree/ Provisional Certificate of the qualifying examination in the
case of candidates appearing for the PG programme (M. Pharmacy).
Photocopy of the Intermediate/ 10+2 certificate in the case of candidates appearing for the
UG programme (B. Pharmacy).
Photocopy of the Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority for claiming reservation
under SC/ST category.
Photocopy of Medical Certificate issued by the competent authority for claiming under PH
category.
Self addressed envelope (9x4 cm).
Important Note:
i. The University is not responsible for any delay in the receipt or loss of Application.
ii. The decision of the Vice-Chancellor will be final on all matters relating to the conduct of GIPAT–
2011. All disputes pertaining to GIPAT–2011 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam.
iii. Every effort has been made by GITAM University to ensure the correctness of the information
provided in this document. However, in case of a conflict in interpretation, the decision of GITAM
University is final and binding on those who apply/ appear for GIPAT-2011.
