First, access the DIR-300 web configuration through a web browser. The
default address is http://192.168.0.1.
Check the current firmware version on the device. This can be seen
clearly on the top right-hand corner of the login screen.
Step 1
If you have not done so already, enter the DIR-300 web configuration
through a web browser. The default address is http://192.168.0.1.
Step 2
Please enter username and password when prompted and click Login.
The default username is “admin” and the password field should be left
blank.
Step 3
Select Maintenance from the top menu and then Save and Restore
from the left-hand side menu.
The intermediate firmware will now be installed. This will take around two
minutes. Please make sure that you DO NOT POWER OFF the device
during this time. There will be status information on screen, as below.
Step 6
Once the intermediate firmware is installed, you will see that the firmware
version shown on the top right-hand corner of the login screen. Please
make sure that this shows Firmware Version: 2.10. If it does not,
please repeat steps 3-5.
Please log back into the device web configuration. The now default
username is “admin” and the password field should be left blank, click
Login.
Step 7
Select TOOLS from the top menu and then FIRMWARE from the left-
hand side menu.
Install the new firmware by clicking on the Browse button, select the
unzipped firmware file DIR300B5_FW214WWb01.bin and click
Upload.
Step 8
The new firmware will now be installed. This will take around two and a
half minutes. Please make sure that you DO NOT POWER OFF the device
during this time. There will be status information on screen, as below.
Step 9
Once the new firmware is installed, you will see that the firmware version
shown on the top right-hand corner of the login screen. Please make sure
that this shows Firmware Version: 2.14. If it does not, please repeat
steps 6-8.
The firmware upgrade is now complete. You can now reinstall your local
language packs and reconfigure/reload your previous configuration.
