In Ohio, the Pullins Group, LLC is working with the Partnership for Safe Medicines
www.safemedicines.org in their effort to educate consumers on the issue of drug importation and its
inherent risks. This issue is particularly timely with the release of the U.S. Surgeon General’s report on
the topic last month, and the Canadian Health Minister’s recent announcement that his government would
curtail the current practice of drug importation by American consumers.

The partnership consists of a group of concerned organizations and individuals working together to
protect the safety of prescription medicines in the U.S. and to educate consumers about the risks of
allowing commercial importation of medications from unknown, unverified or unsafe foreign sources.

Our role is to provide information to the media that explains the position of the Partnership for Safe
Medicines on the subject of drug importation in the hopes that you will provide balanced editorial content
on the subject to your readers. As a part of this effort, we would like to have the opportunity to work with
your editorial board by sharing critical information and by introducing you to Ernest Boyd, a licensed
pharmacist and Executive Director of the Ohio Pharmacists Association. In addition, Peter Pitts, a
Partnership for Safe Medicines’ spokesperson and former FDA official, is also speaking out on this issue
and is available to address your editorial board if you are interested.

The drug importation issue is as important to Ohioans as it is to the rest of the country. It is also a
complicated issue and unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation causing much confusion among the
general public. Your editorial board can help balance the information that Ohioans read and thus help
them more clearly understand the potential risks that may arise due to the importation of these drugs from
other countries.

We can arrange a meeting for your editorial board with Ernest Boyd and/or Peter Pitts at your request.
Mr. Boyd works in Columbus and is available to meet with you in person. Mr. Pitts is available for
telephone interviews and may be available to meet in person. We believe both gentlemen would be
valuable resources for your purposes.
