THE I-RISE BAKERY

What's up everybody? Kid Dynamite here, ready to blow you all away with another sure-shot
month of delicious baked goodness! We hope the year has gotten off to a good start for you all.
How about this weather lately, huh? Perfect bread-making weather, not to mention hanging out
in a t-shirt & shorts in the middle of January! Plus off-shore breezes in the mornings and some
really good swell in the last few weeks--life is feeling sooo blessed! Simple high-quality pleasures
indeed. We're still prepared for more cold, wet weather & won't be complaining about it, but
when you look at the national weather report & see that we've consistently been the warmest spot
in the country lately, we'd say Santa Cruz freakin' rules!!!
You guys have sure been spreading the word about our service, and we love it! At this point we
are almost at capacity for our Thursday (Scotts Valley & SC Westside), at least as far as bread
goes. We still have TONS of room on our SLV (Wed.) & East SC (Fri.) routes. We could easily take
on 10-15 more regular bread customers on those delivery days, so tell your friends in Felton, Ben
Lomond, Capitola, etc. We'd also REALLY love to big up the Specials Menu items on all of our
delivery days, so if you haven't tried our cookies, granola, scones, etc., then get hep!
We've got some really special breads lined up for you this month, guys. Week #1 we come out of
the gates at full speed with the Maple Oatmeal Bread, pretty self-explanatory. Week #2 is going to
be very special. We did the Onion-y Onion Sourdough at the end of last summer, and you all
flipped--this is a good one to build a simple dinner around (think soup). We're also really excited
about the Honey Nut & Seed. We'll toast pecans & almonds, add poppy, sesame & sunflower
seeds, and mix them all into a slightly sweet loaf that'll be off the hook. The Applesauce Spelt
Bread will be great, too--the applesauce gives it a flavor reminiscent of hard cider (don't worry
about getting buzzed, though haha).
We're pumped about the Specials this month as well. The Maple Pecan Granola was one of the
very first flavors we offered to you all a few years ago, and it just never goes out of style, the
originals are still the greatest ('nuff respect to Dobie Gray). Papa G's papa kicked down some of
his Meyer's lemons, which inspired us to use them in our scones this month. Add chunks of soft,
sweet dates and that'll be that. Super crip. And check out the Sour Cherry Chocolate Chip
Cookies--pretty doggone decadent (how 'bout some for your valentine?). If you didn't try the
Applesauce Raisin Bread last month, we'll give you another chance this month. It's one of our
very favorites.
One more thing--we want to reduce paper waste by setting up an email list to send out our menu
each month. We really don't check our email often enough to rely on it as a way to place orders
with us (so please don't), but it would save us a lot of time & money to send out the menu as a
group email. So please leave your email address with your payment this month or maybe just
give us a call. That'd be pretty cool. Thanks again, everybody. PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
