The world has been turned upside down. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.
We are committed to keep supporting green entrepreneurship with all the resources available to
us. Fixing climate change continues to be a priority.
We are working on solutions to keep our programme going in this new reality with safety and
accessibility as our primary drivers. The most significant change is that the entire 2020 edition
of our competition will be remote and executed online.
We will post updates on the way things will be set up. Please reach out to your National Lead if
you have any questions about the programme in your country. In the meantime: stay safe, stay
sane and keep on tackling climate change. Together we can do this.

You have a green business idea and want to take it to the next level. Perfect, you should enter our
competition. Don’t worry if you don’t have a business plan just yet. Or if your idea is still on the
back of a napkin. You are most welcome to join.
To apply for ClimateLaunchpad 2020, all you have to do is fill out the application form. If you
don’t have full answers to all of the questions in the form, feel free to give rough estimates. The
important thing is to get your form submitted before your country’s deadline.

In partnership with The Human Development and Innovation Fund (HDIF) the Embassy
of the Netherlands and Village Capital we are excited to launch the 2020 Investment
Readiness Accelerator for Social Enterprises.
Supporting entrepreneurs helping to solve Tanzania’s social and innovation challenges.
Low Access to Essential Social Services: Tanzania faces immense social
challenges, with a majority of the population lacking access to clean water, the national
energy grid, financial services, and affordable healthcare, education and food.
High Unemployment: Rates of unemployment in Tanzania are rising. Every year,
800,000 Tanzanians enter the labour market but there are only enough jobs for 50,000
of them, of which the vast majority are considered “vulnerable” and informal working
agreements.   
Underdeveloped Innovation Ecosystem: Tanzania has low business growth in part
due to an ecosystem that lacks robust, coordinated pillars of (a) capacity building, (b)
access to networks, and (c) access to appropriate types and sufficient amounts of
capital.
Entrepreneurs can solve these challenges. Innovators have the potential to develop
disruptive and scalable products and services that help this large and growing
population while generating job growth and local economic development. However,
early-stage entrepreneurs often lack the necessary training, networks, and capital to
grow.

Programme Overview
We’re seeking startups from all regions of Tanzania that are tackling the largest
challenges in the country’s most critical social sectors of:
(1) Education
(2) Healthcare
(3) Financial inclusion
(4) Clean energy
(5) Agriculture
(6) Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
The programme includes a series of workshops – these are typically four-day
engagements – that provide our entrepreneurs with training to develop their business
models, financials, pitches, sales pipelines, and other aspects. Entrepreneurs will also
have one-on-one time with mentors, industry experts, investors, top local business
leaders, and potential customers.
Selected startups are required to have one C-level team member attend all three
workshops, and Anza will bear flight and lodging costs for any non-Dar-based
participants.
At the end of the programme, ventures will be selected by other entrepreneurs in
the cohort to get investment from Anza Growth Fund.

Katika hatua hii unapaswa kujikita kupima mawazo tofauti tofauti ili kuona ni kazi gani inayofaa
kwa biashara yako. Jitahidi usipende sana mawazo yako, lakini badala yake utumie wakati huu
ili kutengeneza mpango wa biashara yako kulingana na utafiti wako.
Mfano wa Mpango Biashara ni chombo muhimu katika hatua hii, ili kwa haraka uweze kupanga
biashara mbadala na kupata maelezo ya jumla ya mahali ambapo fursa na vitisho vinaweza
kutokea.Ikiwa biashara yako imechukua muda mrefu na unashangaa kuwa katika hatua ya wazo,
usijali! Kwa hakika unafanya kazi nzuri kwakuwa umekuwa kwenye biashara kwa mda mrefu,
lakini kama kweli unataka kukuza biashara yako, utahitaji kufikiria kuweka mpango mkakati  wa
kukuza biashara yako hatua ambayo itoa biashara yako katika hatua moja na kuipeleka katika
hatua nyingine.

Capacity Building
Anza Accelerator is an 8 month intensive and tailored journey that  builds the
capacity of entrepreneurs through strategic consulting and hands-on skills
trainings so that they are ready to take their businesses to the next level.
Access to Capital
Anza Growth Fund provides capital leases to our entrepreneurs, giving them the
necessary funding and tools they need to expand their businesses. Our financing is
more affordable and flexible than other forms of capital available to our
entrepreneurs in Tanzania.
Connect a Community
Anza entrepreneurs are connected to each other and to a global network of experts
& mentors, building a community to drive catalytic change.
In order to provide a physical space for entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and
create, in 2010 Anza founded Kili Hub, the largest co-working space in Tanzania.
