MAESTRO SHAMAN SHIPIBO, Este trabajo, exclusivamente, Amis Padre

a Guillermo Mahua Matios, que por su tradicion pertenece a una
estripe de shamanes.

Amis padre quien supo conjugar su cultura y conocimiento de las

plantas medicinales con el arte magico de mi ascendencia materna
para hacer de su hijo no solamente un shaman, si no, un amante,
de la Ecologin de las plantas medicinales tradicionales,
Amazonico.

Sé tiene la oportunidad de ofrecer a los que aman la naturalesa y

a los investigadores de la flora y un aporte para vida y su
conservación.

MAESTRO SHAMAN SHIPIBO, this is my trade, same as that of my

father Guillermo Mahua Matios, who belongs to a lineage of
shamans.

My father knew how to integrate his culture and knowledge of the

medicinal plants with the magic art of my maternal ancestry to
make his son not only a shaman, but also to impart deep affection
towards traditional medicinal plants of the Amazon.

He has the opportunity to offer those who love nature to explore

native flora and a contribute to its conservation.

Todo el trabajo constituye un esfuerso, es una tentativa de

acercamiento a la realidad; ha hecho posible sobre todo en lo que
se refiere la labor de este ilustre Hijo de la selva amazónica ha
sido exclusivamente empirica.

Este labor de mi experiencia magnifica de un hombre, que

escudrinando hasta la raices más honolas de la Sabiduria Indigina
Shipibo-Canibo. Nos permite penetrar en el mágico mundo de la
medicina indigina de la amazonía: El provecho mas grande es su
aporte al mundo entero de datos estupendos para la ciencia y al
servicio de la humanidad.

All the work constitutes an on-going effort, an attempt to

approach unified reality; it has been made possible above all in
what is referred to as work of his illustrious Son of the
Amazonian Forest, a purely empirical in its approach.
This labor of mine is also a great experience of a man in search
of much deeper roots of the indigenous Shipibo-Canibo knowledge.
He allows us to enter the magical realm of indigenous Amazonian
medicine:
The biggest profit is his contribution to the entire world of
marvelous scientific research and his service to mankind.

Indudabablemente que los recursos de nuestro Amazonia son

inmensos, muchos de ellas sin clasificar, sin investigar y hasta
sus nombres. Y entre estas riquezas que Dios ha puesto en estas
cálidadas tierras tropicales, cubiertas de bosques sin limites,
tenemos tesoros preciosos para la curación y la prevencion de las
enfermedades.

Undoubtedly, the resources of our Amazon are immense, many of

them not classified, uninvestigated and yet unnamed. And amongst
these riches that God has put in these warm tropical lands
covered with unending forest we have beautiful treasures for the
healing and the prevention of the illnesses.

El relato de Gilberto Mahua, da la admiracioñ; o leyendo, el

trabajo de shamanismo para todos los problemas de salud pueda
existir una solucionar sin embargo, muchos sufren por las
enfermedades, el hambre y la destruccion.

Lo que preocupa a la mayor parte de los hombres, es el dinero y

como ganarlo.

I hope history of Gilberto Mahua gives inspiration; albeit in a

profession of a shaman there is, perhaps, a solution for all the
health problems, nevertheless many people suffer from illnesses,
the famine and the destruction.

What bothers most people nowadays is money and how to earn them.

La medicina tradicional no se ha desarrollado, en la ciudad, sino

en el campo, al contacto de la naturaleza donde el aire puro, el
sol y el aqua, propician y conservan la vida.

The traditional medicine failed to develop in the city

environment where there is no crops, no contact with nature, no
pure air, sun or water - the basic needs for favorable conditions
of life.

El manejo de plantas medicional es como:

Require evaluarse como un manifesto componente agroforestal. Si
se busca optimizar la produccion de los cultivos. Sin Embargo
ello esta condicionado, por un discurso cultural.

Management of medicinal plants requires to be evaluated as these

are a part of agriculture and forestry, if one wishes to optimize
their cultivation. Nevertheless decisions are based on cultural
reasons.

La historia nos muestra que los pueblos indigenas de la Amazonia

Peruana no han sido incluido participante, por los gobierno de
turno en los procesos desarollo National.

Realidad que los ha vuelto recientes ante promesas de cambio por

parte de instituciones publica o privadas(ONG’s) que empeñan su
palabra asegurandoles tener alternativas para la solucion a
determinados problemas.

The history shows us that the indigenous peoples of the Peruvian

Amazon have not been included in decision making because of the
change in government policies in the processes of National
development.

In reality we have returned recently to where we were before the

promises on the part of public institutions as well as private
enterprise that swore to have alternative solutions to resolve
existing problems.

Este reflexion muy personal as un servicio que aportan con mi

conocimiento propio.

He iniciado al trabajo de recopilacion de dietas sobre el uso y

conocimiento de la medicina indigena cuando tenido 12 año hasta
actual.

This is a personal reflection based on my own knowledge I feel

compelled to contribute.

I have initiated the work of compilation of diets on the use and

understanding of indigenous medicine when I was 12 years of age,
which I continue to update.

De esta manera mis Antepasados, por milenios han practicado la

medicina natural y nos han dejado como acertado Herencia.

Todo mi trabajo ha hido deserralandose paso a paso no soy un

profecional en Biologia u otro especialidad si no soy idonio y
capaz empiricamente.
These are the ways that my Ancestors practiced the use of natural
medicine and passed them on as unique inheritance.

All my work is undertaken step by step, and although I am not a

specialist in Biology or other sciences, my knowledge comes from
experience.

BIOGRAFIA

Guilberto MAHUA OCHAVANO: Nació en Painaco distrito de Sarayacu

el 14 de Abril de 1948 Hijo de Don Guillermo Mahua Matios y de
doña Andrea Ochavano Buatista, ambos descendiantes del pueblo
Shipibo.

BIOGRAPHY

Gilberto MAHUA OCHAVANO: Born in Painaco Sarayacu district on the

14th of April 1948, son of Don Guillermo Mahua Matios and of Mrs.
Andrea Ochavano Buatista, both descendants of the Shipibo people.

Desde la edad 12 años se inicio en el campo psicomagico de la

medicina Indigena. Actualmente se ha hecho merecido indigena como
shipibo de la Amazonia como SHAMAN. Y actualmente se radica en la
comunidad Nativa de Paoyhan.
Quiero expresarme a me gran y sincero agradecimiento Amigo o mi
sobrino Austriaco Berna Brabec De Mori quien por su apoyo me
había llevado en su pais a Europa en Austria. Estuve 30 dias en
Europa aplicando de shamanismo o entre cambios de ideas sobre la
medicina tradicional.

From the age 12 years initiated in the esoteric realm of

indigenous medicine. At present I have earned respect of a SHAMAN
amongst the Shipibo of the Amazon and can be found in the native
settlement of Paoyhan. I would like to express my great and
sincere gratitude to the friend of my nephew, Berna Brabec De
Mori who invited me to Austria, his country in Europe, where I
spent 30 days practicing shamanism and exchanging ideas on the
traditional medicine.

PLANTAS MEDICINAS

CHUCHUHUASI: reumatismo, resfrio del vientre y de la matriz,

reconstituyente, fiebre, diarrea enteritis, irregularidades en la
menstruacion, herida.

CHUCHUHUASI: against rheumatism, coldness of abdomen and the

womb, as a restorative, against fever, diarrhea, aberrations in
the menstruation, in wounds.

PIRIPIRI: energia o animo para el trabajo.

PIRIPIRI: energy or fortitude for the work.

BOA HUASKA: muy bueno para en caso de herida, uta, ulceras del
estamago e intestinales, fracturas de hueso hemorragias externas
e internas (vajinales) y otro organos y sobre parto (post parto).

BOA HUASKA: very good in case of wounds, uta, intestinal and

stomach ulcers, healing of broken bones, external and internal
(viginal) hemorrhages and for childbearing.

PIÑON COLORADO: heridas, hongos, quemaduras, hemorragias, fiebre

interior, dolor de cabeza, diarrea descenso, prostata, gonorrea,
golpes, dolores reumatico. Tumor, cancer.

PINE NUT COLORADO: wounds, fungal diseases, burns, hemorrhages,

interior fever, headache, diarrhea, prostate, gonorrhea, blows,
rheumatic pain. Tumor, cancer.

AYA HUMA: enfermedades con sindromes tradicionales, malestar

complejo (dolores, debilidad, inapetencia y malos sueños).

AYA HUMA: illnesses with traditional syndromes, complex

discomfort (pains, weakness, lack of appetite and bad sleep).

IPORUPO: reumatismo, diarrea, paludismo.

IPORUPO: rheumatism, diarrhea, malaria.

RETAMA: caracha, siseo, hongos.

RETAMA: caracha, hiss in the lungs, fungi.

UNGURAHUI: torufica el cuerpo cura el paludismo y diabetes.

UNGURAHUI: treats the body of malaria and diabetes.

AJOS QUIRO: Artritis, (resfrios) inflamaciones, prevencion gripe,

fiebre, paludismo, reumatismo.
AJOS QUIRO: Arthritis, cold inflammations, prevention of
influenza, fever, malaria, rheumatism.

SANGRE DE GRADO: Heridas uterinas ovario e intestinal, externa e

interna anti-conceptivo, úlceras.

SANGRE DE GRADO: injuries of ovaries and intestinal injuries,

external and internal contraceptive, sores.

PIÑON BLANCO: Muy bueno para tos, bronquitis, asma, diarrea en

bebes, descensos.

PINION BLANCO: very good for cough, bronchitis, asthma, diarrhea

in toddlers, colds.

CHIRIC SANANGO: Reumatismo y reconstituyente artritis. (bueno

para caza, pesca, fuerra psicológica)

CHIRIC SANAGO: against rheumatism, arthritis and good for

reconstitution (for hunting, fishing, physical strength)

DIETA: Durante el tratamiento no se debe comer or tomar alimentas

perjudiciales que prodían producir intoxicación. Asi como: carne
y manteca de chanco, res, huangana, aji y limon. Durante el
tratamiento del maestro 8 - 15 dia y 1, 2, 3 meses caso de
cronicos de la enfermedad.

During the treatment one should not eat or drink foods that can
cause harmful effects of intoxication. Such as: meat and fat of
pork, cattle meat, red pepper and limon, hunagana. Duration of
treatment varies between 8-15 days and 1-3 months depending on
seriousness of condition.

MUCURA MACHO: descripsion - planta de 1 metra, con tollo leñosa,

de hojos lancedadas y flor en forma de espiga. Esta planta tiene
olor al ajos.

USOS PRINCIPALES: desinflamente, reumatismo, artritis, cólico por

gases antigripal prevencion de enfermedades, elimina el
colesterol y otras toxinas.

USOS SECUNDARIOUS: Bañandose 12 dias con las hojas estrujadas

trae la buena suerte.
