Briefly explain each of the tenses studied. Description, forms and examples.
Las formas negativas del past progressive siguen las reglas que se usan para
conjugar el verbo to be en el pasado.
Formas interrogativas
Para hacer preguntas usando the past progressive, hay que invertir el sujeto y la
forma conjugada de to be. Comparamos la forma afirmativa con la forma
interrogativa.

PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE
ON – Sobre, encima (tocando la superficie). My book is on the table.
También puede referirse a la ubicación de un edificio sobre una calle o
avenida.
BETWEEN – En medio de. David is between Jane and Milena. (entre o en medio de dos)
PREPOSITIONS OF MOTION
INTO – Dentro. Entrar (Acompañado del verbo GO). Go into the elevator.
OUT OF – Fuera de. Salir de (Acompañado del verbo GO). Go out of the office please.
THROUGH – A través de, atravesar. Go through the park on the way to the library.
Atravesar -(Acompañada del verbo GO). We go across the road for a coffee.
AROUND – Alrededor, en torno a. Go around the park and you will find the main gate.
PREPOSITIONS OF DIRECTION
DOWN hacia abajo. Walk down one block. Baje una cuadra
TOWARDS hacia. Go towards the main park. Ven hacia el parque principal.
FROM de, desde. I’m from Colombia. They come from Brazil
PREPOSITIONS OF TIME: AT / ON / IN
Use In. In a room / In a shop / In a box / In the garden / In the park / In a town / In Rome /
In Italy / In the city / In the water / In the sea / In my coffee shop.
Use At. at the door / at the traffic lights / at the bus stop/ at home / at school / at university
/ at the station / at the airport / at work.
ACTIVITY FOUR
Sabemos que There be significa (haber)- hay para hablar sobre la existencia de algo, pero, este es
un verbo impersonal, porque no se lo puede conjugar con los pronombres personales, No estamos
hablando del verbo To have = haber. / tener.
Vamos a revisarlo rápidamente: THERE IS = HAY. SINGULAR. THERE ARE = HAY. PLURAL A.
There isn’t.
There are = hay Example: There are two men and three women in the meeting.
There aren’t = no hay Example: There aren´t any chickens in this farm.
Are there? = ¿hay? Example: Are there five girls in your classroom? Yes, there are / No,
There aren’t.
ACTIVITY FIVE
Using there is or there are and prepositions make a description of the place where you live, if it’s
possible support your writing with photos. (Minimum 80 words maximum 100)
