Terumah,

Ex. 25:1 – 27:21.

I. This Torah portion is unique, in that it begins a series of five

Torah parsha that deal specifically with the architectural details
of the Tabernacle and its furnishings. If we remember, the
Tabernacle and subsequent Temple of Solomon were designed to
represent the form of a man, specifically, Messiah. It is this
“Temple Man” who pictures the Adam lying sacrificially upon an
earthen altar, while the Bride is taken out of his side. This is
pictured in Gen. 2: 23 and it becomes a concurrent theme
throughout Scripture. Let’s browse here for a moment: First, let’s
look at the phrase: bone of my bones.

‫מי‬
ַ‫צ‬
ָ ֲ‫מע‬
ֵֽ ‫צם‬
ֶ‫ע‬
ֶ etsem maetzmi. The gematria of this phrase is 450, the
same as the Hebrew word #1823, ‫ דמות‬dĕmuwth, meaning likeness, and image.
If we break this word apart, we can see a hidden message. Dalet – Mem, dam,
is the word for blood, while, oth is the word for sign, signal, memorial,
something etched or scored with a mark to call attention to it! The
relationship with both Adam and YHVH & Adam and Eve was a Blood Oath.
There is another side to these words as well: The letters Mem – Vav – Tav,
spell #4191, mut, meaning to die, to kill, to put to death, to execute. The Dalet
in front means door. In this context, it infers that Adam became the doorway
of death – Romans 5:12,19: for by one man sin entered the world and death by
sin…however, it also shows us that by One’s obedience many were made
righteous, verse 19. Thus, through the doorway of the death of Messiah many
were made righteous!

Adam understood the ramifications of Sin, he was not deceived, (1Tim. 2:14)
thus, he willingly dies for his Bride – Eve, and he sacrificed himself, knowing
the Redemption plan of YHVH!

There is another peculiarity in this verse, seen when referring to Eve, rather
than the feminine Hebrew pronoun, He, being used, the word #2063, zot (with
a gematria of 408) the irregular form of ZEH, which also means lamb is used.
408 is the gematria of another interesting word connecting us - #1004,
‫ בית‬bayith, house, family, wife. The word usage here infers that the LAMB
WOULD COME THROUGH THE WOMAN – TO REDEEM THE HOUSE!

…She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

‫חהֹּֽ־זאת‬
ָ ‫ש ֻֽלֳק‬
ׁ ‫אי‬
ִ‫מ‬ֵ ‫שה ִּכי‬
ָּׁ ‫א‬
ִ ‫ְלֹזאת ִיָּקֵרא‬
lezot yikare ishah ki me'ish lukacha-zot. I want to call attention to the Hebrew
words for Man and Woman.

• Man, #376, ‫' איש‬iysh, man, as opposed to a woman.

• Woman, #802, ‫' אשה‬ishshah, Woman.

According to the Rabbis…

If you note, they have the same two-letter root, Alef – Shin, which is the
Hebrew root #784, Esh, meaning fire. The two letters they don’t have in
common are Yod & Hey, the letters that form the NAME – YAH! When they
unite – become one in intimacy, forming the Bride, they combine the Yod –
Hey to form one-half of the Holy Name! The other half of the Name is found
in the Groom’s name, ‫ יהושוע‬Yehoshua, Yahshua, the Vav – Hey completes
YHVH! Ironically, it is the Yod, which shows masculine gender and the Hey,
which shows feminine gender in the Hebrew language!

It is no accident the same words are seen in the first sentence of this Parsha. Let’s
look and see! Ex. 25: 1 …have them bring me an offering…from every man…
what was the purpose of this offering? TO BUILD THE TABERNACLE – THE
MAN/PATTERN! YHVH’s response if the would do so? Veyikchu-li trumah
me'et kol-ish

ׁ ‫אי‬
‫ש‬ ִ‫את ָּכל־‬
ֵ‫מ‬ֵ ‫מה‬
ָ ‫תרּו‬
ְּ ‫ְוִיְקחּו־ִלי‬
• Let’s break this down phrase by phrase: Veyikchu-li (the
hyphen connects the two words into one) “have them bring
to me”…
• Trumah, #8641, ‫ תרומה‬tĕruwmah, a heave or lifted-up
offering. The Tav prefixed implies 3rd person, future tense,
‘you shall’. The root stem is #7311, Resh-Mem, rum, to
raise up, lift up.

• Me’at, ‫את‬
ֵ‫מ‬ֵ a preposition meaning ‘from’, out of, in the
vicinity, close to. *Note the Alef-Tav, representing Messiah.

• Kol, ‫ָּכל‬every, all, (the) whole.

• Ish, #376, ‫' איש‬iysh, man.

Our extrapolated definition could read: “Have them bring (an offering) to
me and you shall raise up (build) out of the Alef-Tav, THE WHOLE MAN
- [Tabernacle] Israel!

In the verse of Gen. 2 we see the woman being taken out of man, here, we see
the woman being brought back into the man! This picture is that of a Man
dwelling with his bride. This is substantiated in Ex. 25:8. Shall we look?

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

‫שַכְנִּתי ְּבֹתוָֽכם׃‬
ָׁ ‫ש ְו‬
ׁ ‫שּו ִלי ִמְקָּד‬
ׂ ָ‫ְוע‬
Ve'asu li mikdash veshachanti betocham. Let’s examine the Hebrew.

• Make, #6213, ‫` עשה‬asah, a verb meaning to do, to make, to accomplish.

The two-letter root stem, Ayin-Shin, ‘ash’, a moth – insect, that destroys
houses of earth & clay and the garments of humans.

• Sanctuary, #4720, ‫ מקדש‬miqdash, holy place, Tabernacle. It is from

#6942, qadash, to consecrate, be set apart. The Mem prefix indicates “out of
their consecration, setting apart”. The root is related to #6919, qadah, a verb
meaning, ‘to set on fire’. (Remember the root of man & woman – esh/fire)

[*Note: Prov. 20: 27: The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD,
searching all the inward parts of the belly. Candle is the word ‘niyr’
#5216, lamp. It is used figuratively as progeny – that David My servant will
always have a lamp…Belly, #990, ‫ בטן‬beten, belly, womb! Beit = house, Tet =
surround, serpent, compromised – inverted womb, Nun = life, it also can
mean to diminish. Thus, this word beten hints “ The Womb was compromised
by the serpent when the Bride/House diminished the Seed!]

• Dwell, #7931, ‫ שכן‬shakan, a verb meaning to settle down, to dwell with,

as in marriage. The two-letter root is #7900, sok, a tabernacle, dwelling.

• Among, #8432, ‫ תוך‬tavek, midst, middle, inside of.

What does all the above tell us? It looks as if Adam & Eve are created from
the same source ‘ESH’ – FIRE. Fire represents the Personification or
Presence of YHVH. The SEED OR WORD MADE FLESH! This fire must be
contained within a Holy, kadosh Tabernacle, without which, the same fire
becomes destructive to the fallen, the garments of the flesh consumed! Deut. 4:
24 YHVH is a consuming fire. Let’s look at a verse that confirms this! Deut.
33: 2.

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto
them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten
thousands of saints: from his right hand [went] a fiery law for them.

The Key phrase is: from His right hand [went] a fiery law for them.

‫מיֹנו‬
ִ ‫מי‬
ִֽ ‫שדת‬
ֶׂ ‫מו׃ א‬
ֹ ָֽ‫ל‬mimino eshdat lamo. Mimino is translated,
‘from (mi) His (holem vav suffix) Right hand (min). There is confusion with
the next phrase ‘ ESHDAT’ – the Masoretic text suggests this is read as two
distinct words, Esh, Dat. Fire & law – Torah! Targum Onkelos translates it
as: His right [hand] wrote [it]; from amidst the fire – He gave Torah, lamo –
to us! The Rabbis suggest this FIRE as primordial – ever existing and the
source of Torah! Yet, apart from this Torah – Word, the fire consumes us!
The reason that He adds Himself to the Ish & Ishah, the Yod – Hey!
We now know why Nadab and Abihu were consumed! Lev. 10: 1, Numbs. 3:
4.

• Nadab, #5070, ‫ נדב‬Nadab, Strong’s has it, ‘generous’. However it also

means to incite willingly – it is used in Ezra 7:13 to reference those who could
leave Babylon willingly. Its root is Nod – wanderer and it is related to Niddah,
unclean as in the harlot. The Beit appended to the end points to the ‘House’.
Thus, Nadab incited those who could leave Babylon (The Mother of Harlots)
to stay as ‘wanderers’ bringing uncleanness into the House!
• Abihu, #30, ‫' אביהוא‬Abiyhuw', this is translated as, ‘he is my father’.
Being connected to Nadab infers he subjugated himself to Nadab and the
ONE/Husband/god who drove them spiritually.

They offered strange fire to YHVH. Remember, fire is contained in the Man
or Woman who are in a Covenant – Marital relationship with YHVH, bearing
His Name! YOD – HEY! These two engaged in bringing fire offered to IDOLS
– another god, the SEED OF THE SERPENT, into the Tabernacle, the Place
of intimacy, before the face of YHVH!
• Strange, #2114, ‫ זור‬zuwr, strange, prostitute, intercourse with a strange
woman, sexual perversion as in a man with a man (lesbianism may not release
physical seed, but, verbal, mental, spiritual seed is the root of physical
adultery) unlawful. Torah prohibits the spilling of seed onto the ground, thus
desecrating it.

Thus, fire represents the Seed, Presence, and Word of YHVH, which must be
brought into a Sanctified House – Tabernacle. This can be seen in the design
of the Menorah, each bowl shaped in the form of an Almond flower, with a
calyx (hard exterior protecting the producing part of the flower) representing
the genitals containing the SEED – FIRE! Jer. 23: 29 Is not My Word like as
fire…? The word here for like is #3541, koh, like, as. However, it is a
compound of the Kaf (like, as) and the root HUW, meaning he, himself. Is not
My Word like HIM?

Terumah!
II. The word Terumah #8641, also means heave offering or lifted up
offering. That portion, which was given to the Priesthood to eat. Lev. 7: 32-33.
WATCH THIS! Lev. 22: 12 If the priest's daughter also be married unto
a stranger *, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. *Note the
Asterisk, a word left untranslated by the KJV. It is #376, Ish, man, is qualified
by the word stranger in front - #2114, zuwr. ONE WHO OFFERS STRANGE
FIRE MAY NOT PARTAKE OF THE HEAVE OFFERING! If this daughter
engages in spiritual adultery – idolatry, the same fire, which would have fed
her, now burns her!

If it is to be eaten, what does this Terumah represent? The Torah, Word,

Manna, Living Water, Fire! That’s why Jn. 6: 48 – 58 was such a hard thing
for those following Yahshua casually, to understand. The word becomes a fire
shut up inside the bones! Jer. 20: 9.

• Bones, #6106, ‫` עצם‬etsem, bones, plural for tree, which is wood or fuel
for fire! Ironically, the blood, life, congealed light – fire, is formed in these
same bones! The body – spine becomes the Torah scroll! The phrase shut up,
#6113 etsar, means to restrain. This fire is what restrains our flesh, keeps us
from opening the womb to the Serpent’s Seed.

It was this pattern, the Man in the Tabernacle, filled with the Fire of YHVH
day and night, that Israel was being charged with building. You and I are now
tasked with building the same tabernacle – only it is within this fleshly House.
