History:
Afroze Textile Industries started as a cottage industry in 1973 founded by Mr. Mehboob Alam

started with limited finance and initial investment was done personally by the founder. And
became a booming name in the textile industry as the Textile sector had always been in a bloom
from the very start. After the death of Mr. Mehboob Lari, his sons Mr. Afroze Lari (Director
Production) & Mr. Feroz Lari (M.D) carried on with their father’s business they inherited, and are
presently running the business successfully.

Initially when they started they just produced terry towels, the company’s quality products
quickly earned trust from across the continents, encouraging the management to step into the

SWOT Analysis:

Strengths
• Experienced labor and technical workforce
• Modern and high-tech machinery
oThe company’s strength is also based on the friendly and coordinated
environment amongst the departments and the employees as well
o The authorities are delegated to respective managers within a boundary which
helps the company to increase the productivity and gets the employee’s to
suggest more better solutions to the problems

6
Weakness:
• Currently the company has no spinning division of its own, therefore, the
purchase yarn.

Opportunities:
Pakistan ranked forth in cotton production in the world and the third largest cotton
exporter. 1.3 million Pakistan farmers (out of a total of 5 million) cultivate cotton over 3
million hectares, covering 15 per cent of the cultivable area in the country. Cotton and
cotton products contribute about 10 per cent to GDP and 55 per cent to the foreign
exchange earnings of the country
• Since cotton is the main cash crop of Pakistan, Afroze Textile has greater
opportunity to expand their portfolio into other sectors of textile.

Threats:
• Countries like India, China & Bangladesh are major threats for the overall textile
industry as their government policies regarding this sector is stronger than ours.

Diversification:

The Company is willing to expand its production line by installing a whole new Spinning Plant in
future in order to spin the cotton and yarn raw materials all by themselves.

Differentiation:

The Company is different in such a way that it outclasses its competitors by producing all type of
textile products for both business and home consumers that are produced under a roof with the
best export quality.

Being different and unique in their garments and their designs, Afroze textiles have
earned a very special recognition among its clients. From the very start and to the day their
designers, artists and tailors understand the importance of being different in designs, styles and
quality.

The industry is equipped with highly advanced machinery and technology available in the
market today and has a team of highly skilled fashion designers and artists, therefore, the designs
and quality produced are simply the best.

Current Economic conditions:

7
With no doubts the company is a gigantic player in the textile sector but the current global
recession and the country’s economical & political situation has also affected the company due
to,
 High interest rates
