Heat gain through walls and roofs

Solar heat gain in windows

solar heat gain factor

Infiltraion load (using volume of space)

ventilation load (empirical formula)
internal heat load
Lighting load (empirical formula)

The sensible load is how much cooling you need to do to bring the temperature down,
and the latent load is how much cooling you have to do to bring the humidity down.

How do you see the field of HVAC changing in the future?

In the not-so-distant future, new installations will include WiFi access so

customers smart home tech can talk directly to their HVAC system to do the
diagnosis and even recommend solutions. Energy prices will go down as efficiency
rises, and one of your key responsibilities will be in offering recommendations for
energy (and money!) savings. Fortunately, that fits in with the next question.

what can you contribute to this company

I am eager to learn new things and make sure to spend my time at work to be
productive. I try to find things to do when I dont have anything next to do. I can
also be flexible at work. I am willing to do things outside of my field in order to
help my team finish different tasks on time. I am also a self starter I do things
myself but I ask the client or the project manager how they want the job to be
done. like for example what kind of indoor unit they want, would they want
ductless, ptacs or ceiling conceiled type. because sometimes the client is not very
responsive so what i do is I design it one way and then the client wants to change
it thats why i ask them beforehand what kind of system they want to use to save
time.

what are your expectation from the company

I would expect that your company will have challenging roles, competent job give me
learning opportunities where i can apply and improve my skills to become a valued
member of your team.

what are your weakness?

I easily get bored whenever i'm not doing anything so i always make sure that i am
doing something that makes me productive at work. like during my internship
whenever i finish the job given to me before the deadline i try to learn the basics
of the computer software that they are using for their operation so if i have to
use them i wouldn't have a hard time trying to figure out how they work. I have
trouble determining how long a task will be finished. so what i do is when i
organize my time i overestimate the time it takes to finish the job. i tell the
manager or client that the job might take longer than how i could i actually do it.

what are your strengths

my strength is my ability to handle group arguments involving work. during my
thesis we had an argument on whose design we should use for our presentation. so i
suggested that we point out the weakness and strengths of each designs and choose
which one will be the most efficient and cost-effective. and also my ability to
adapt and handle problems. also during my thesis we had a problem on our machine.
we needed to greatly reduce the air flow rate of our machine and instead of buying
a new blower i suggested that we put a perforated metal on the duct of our machine.
I sometimes enjoy problems that require indepth analysis and calculations.

i have strong attention to detail. after designing our project we have a qa/qc
before we submit it to the DOB and most of the time there are few to no changes
needed for the things i did. I respect people or organization epsecially their
time. so i am punctual. I dont want to keep people waiting as much as possible so i
do things in a timely manner. organize which projecct is more urgent and do those
things first.

why do want to work for this company.

I am the type of guy that wants to improve myself everyday. i want to be something
more than who i was yesterday. and when i saw the projects that the company are
designing i knew that i want to be part of that team. doing complex projects.
different projects. and i know that that would help me become a better engineer. as
someone who wants to do more or better everyday i can help the team do a better job
everyday.

What makes you want to come to work in the morning, and work hard all day?
Personally, i want to repay my parents for all the hardships they have gone through
just to let me finish my education. But I also want to be part of a team that can
and will innovate the HVAC field.

A surprising number of factors affect cooling load calculations:

Of course, climate matters.

Orientation matters. Since windows are not usually evenly distributed on all four
orientations, rotating the orientation of a building design by 90 degrees can
change the cooling load.
Latitude matters (because the sun angle changes with latitude).
The roof overhang width matters, as well as the distance between the top of the
window and the soffit.
The presence or absence of insect screens on windows matter, since they affect
solar heat gain. (Since window screens are removable, most calculation methods
assume that windows have no insect screens.)
The presence or absence of curtains or blinds matters.
The buildings air leakage rate matters.
The mechanical ventilation rate matters. (Software programs usually assume that
older leaky homes have no mechanical ventilation system, only infiltration and
exfiltration through envelope cracks. For newer homes, most programs require users
to input information on the ventilation rate or assume the existence of a
mechanical ventilation system that complies with ASHRAE 62.2.)
The number of occupants matters. (Most calculation methods assume that the number
of occupants equals the number of bedrooms plus one.)
The lighting and appliance specifications matter. (Energy-efficient appliances and
lighting produce less waste heat than inefficient appliances and lighting.)

why HVAC
there are many new buildings at lahat ng yun ay kelangan ng hvac. The HVAC industry
is stable because as long as there are buildings, they will need skilled
professionals to keep them in working order. The economy will always fluctuate.
Construction jobs will be in demand at some times and at other times they will be
scarce. Manufacturing jobs are constantly being outsourced overseas. Heating and
air conditioning jobs, however, will always be in demand. Why? Because nearly every
building has a heating and air conditioning system.
