LEADERSHIP UPDATE Sunday Services
The Elders were recently informed that Dale Rose wanted to
relinquish his title of Trustee but still serve as a Deacon. With his 1st Worship
departure, the Elders asked Don Taylor to once again serve as a 8:00 a.m.
Trustee. According to our By-Laws, there is no vote required for 2nd Worship
Don to step into this position as he will serve out the rest of Dale’s 10:30 a.m.
term. We thank Don for agreeing to serve in this capacity.

I want to thank Glen and the youth for a nice Valentines Dinner. The youth did an excellent job
serving and decorating and Debbi did a great job preparing the food.
I anticipate finishing my Curious 101 course this Sunday morning in the parlor. I have enjoyed having
the opportunity to begin this new phase of church history by uniting our congregation on what we
believe and why we exist. My hope is to have each person of this congregation complete all four
courses. Our goal for the year is to have 35% of you to have begun these courses in 2011. As we
learned Sunday, it is critical to build upon the foundation (Jesus) in all that we do. Psalms 11:3 says,
“When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do? As the foundations of this
country are appearing to crumble at times, let’s be sure to build this church on the Rock.
Due to inclement weather and the congregational meeting, we were unable to have our Wednesday
night electives the past two weeks. But starting February 16th, they’re in session at 6:30 p.m. We
currently offer two options for your enjoyment and growth:
As indicated at our annual meeting, we intend to offer two Friends day events this year which will
require a team of individuals working closely with me to make these successful. Some of you will be
contacted by me to assist with these ventures very soon. Yet if you would like to volunteer, feel free to
contact me to see how God might be able to use you. With all of us working together, we can grow a
great church.
Be sure to check out some of our coming events in the boxes below.

Currently the high school Sunday school class is studying
Jr/Sr High Overnighter through the book of Matthew. This past week for part of our
lesson we looked at being the light of the world. In this passage

Jr/Sr High Movie Night dark room and then place a bowl over it. Two things are going to
at the Shady's happen. First, the light will be hidden and useless while under
the bowl. Second, though, is when you remove the bowl the light
will no longer be lit. It has been starved of oxygen and has gone
