McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. has partnered with the Hispanic
College Fund to honor Hispanic students in the Washington area. They have created the 2nd
Annual McDonald’s Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program, through which students are
eligible for a $1,500 scholarship prize. Potential candidates are students who demonstrate great
qualities of leadership, character and volunteerism.

Local McDonald’s franchisees believe that it is important to recognize outstanding young people
in their communities and will be awarding $21,000 in scholarships this year. Fourteen students
will be chosen to receive the $1,500 scholarship to colleges or universities of their choice. All
applicants must be U.S. citizens and have grade point averages between 3.0-4.0.

“Thanks to the scholarship program of McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington,

DC, many more talented and deserving students in the region will have the opportunity to tell
their families that they’ve found a way to achieve their college dreams,” Lindsay Bernsten,
director of college programs for the Hispanic College Fund, said.

To apply for the scholarship, go to http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org. Applications are due by

March 1.
