Sanctuary Servers: Meeting of the Sanctuary Server’s of Christ Church –
Friday 25th Feb, 7.30pm in Christ Church
Job Vacancy/Parish Elections: Along with the usual elections for
Wardens, Parish Councillors, Synod’s Reps, and Parish Nominators, we will
also have a vacancy for Parish Treasurer. After three years in that position
Mr Glen Turnbull is not seeking re-election as Treasurer, nor as Warden.
This is a significant ministry to the Parish and requires considerable
commitment. If you sense that you are being called to this ministry please
speak to Fr Trevor. Please note that Parish Council and Wardens need
to nominate every year regardless of continuity of service.
Lenten Studies: Parishioners should contact Fr Trevor if they are
interested in the current series of Lenten Studies which are recommended
for use in the Diocese. Bishop John says “If we are to take seriously the
mandate that we make disciples, then this series will meet that demand. I
am sure that the parishes which use this program for their Lenten studies
will find that they grow in wisdom, knowledge, faith and joy, and have a
good time in the process!” The author Charles Sherlock will be at
Shepparton for the afternoon of 27 February and he will offer an overview
of the curriculum. See Fr Trevor for details. See calendar for dates and
times of this year’s Lenten Studies.

We are compiling a Calender of regulars so that we can avoid double
booking, have clear contact details for each group, so that conditions of
hire/use can be clearly defined.

Dianella: The Thursday 4pm service will be almost weekly. There will be
no service on the third Thursday of each month.
From Tony Zammit: On Friday March 11th, 7.30pm at Trackside, Tony
is having his hair shaved to raise funds for Cancer Research. He would
like as many as possible to attend to support him in spirit, financially, and
perhaps in solidarity by either colouring or shaving your hair! Tony can
give receipts for donations. Please help make this a great community
fundraiser.

Maybe there isn't much that can go there but sometimes I know things are
mentioned in the other centres that I might not be aware of. On asking
various parishioners it seems that our worshipping people don't seem to be
aware that it can be added to. Caroline.
Important Notification: The western side of Christ Church will be
barricaded from Monday the 7th of Feb. for at least 4 weeks. THERE WILL
BE NO ACCESS DOWN THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE CHURCH
UNTILL THE BARRICADING HAS BEEN REMOVED. This is to
facilitate the initial stage of repairs to the building. There will be some
inconvenience but this work is absolutely necessary so I beg your
indulgence. Fr. Trevor.
Pew Reflections for the 7th Sunday after Epiphany
We as Indigenous people still hold onto past hurts which causes much grief
and suffering which causes us to hate our enemies. But God tells us to love
your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. This is not to say that
we forget the pain of the past but to move forward we need to
acknowledge the pain of the past and forgive to make a better future for all.
• Pray that we may all be able to forgive past grievances.
• Give thanks for the work and witness of the Iglesia Filipina
Independiente, The Philippines Independent Church.
