The Distinguished Speakers

Ronald L. Phipps is the 2011 NAR President. He holds the ABR, CRS, GREEN,
and GRI designations, as well as the e-pro certification, and teaches real estate
courses several times a year through his training company, Sequoia Seminars.
Before entering real estate, he graduated from College of the Holy Cross in
Worcester, Mass., with a double major in political science and comparative
religions.
Ronnald is currently the managing broker of Phipps Realty, a family-owned
business in Warwick, Rhode Island. Ron has extensive experience in
association leadership at local, state and national levels. Outside of his work in
association leadership and the family business, Ron is an accomplished

Ismail Gafoore holds a Bachelor in Land Economics (Hons) from the University of Technology

Ismail Gafoore is involve with numerous appointments and activities in other organisations,
such as Executive Council Member of SAFRA Toa Payoh, CO of an infantry battalion and

the President of Institute of Estate Agents and the Deputy Commander of the 12th Singapore
Infantry Brigade,
Rusmin Lawin, born and raised in Medan, North Sumatra, holds various roles in business,
political and social organizations and is recognized as one of the well-respected young
leaders both within Indonesia and the ASEAN Region. Rusmin commenced his own
property development company 16 years ago after graduating from Law School at
University of North Sumatera 1994 where he was also Candidate of Master of Public Notary,
University of North Sumatra. Rusmin currently holds several strategic prositions in both
domestic and international business organizations including the following :

Gino Blefari is the founder and CEO of Intero Real Estate Services Inc. that has
more than 40 officers in USA. With 25 years of experience in real estate sales.
At the 2007 NAR Conference & Expo, Blefari was given the prestigious R S
Media National Home Ownership Award for “outstanding achievements among
residential real estate's most influential and charismatic leaders.” In July of
2005, Intero Real Estate Services was recognized by REALTOR ® Magazine as
the fastest growing real estate company in the nation.
Mr. Blefari is a faculty member at De Anza College when he teaches real estate
courses and is a former director of the National Association of REALTORS.

Dr. Christopher Shun Kong Leng, CFP©RFP™, is the Group Managing Director of the Capital
Sanctuary Group of companies and a member of the prestigious National Property Research
Council (NAPREC). He advises on Real Estate Public policy and approves research proposals
enhancing the Malaysian Property industry.
A practitioner of Risk Management (RM). Dr Shun conducts seminars on Financial and
operational Risk Management in Malaysia and Singapore and teaches Corporate Social
Responsibilities (CSR) in Shanghai and Suzhou, China , Wharton School, University of
Pennsylvania, and Department of Real Estate, National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr. Shun introduced and implemented Risk Management for numerous Malaysian GLCs like
Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPJ), Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ), MIDF, Cahaya Mata Sarawak
Dr. Christopher Shun (CMS), Malaysian Industrial Estates Limited (MIEL) and Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM).
Robert graduated from the University of Waterloo (Canada) with a bachelor's degree in
Mathematics. A registered estate agent, Robert joined Rahim & Co in 1982 and has extensive
experience in the field. Over his 29-year career, Robert has been key in developing the firm's
business, working closely with and advising local public-listed companies, multinationals and
high net worth individuals alike on all aspects of their property requirements. In 1996, Robert
was appointed head of the consultancy team advising on the development and marketing of
the residential component of KLCC. Over the last 15 years, Robert has also advised the UK
government in acquiring and disposing of properties worth more than RM 150 million.
In addition to agency and consultancy work, Robert has considerable experience in valuation
and property management.
Robert Ang

Born in Hawaii, Meyer is a graduate of Mills College.
Meyer is a successful real estate agent in Port Angeles, WA, an award winning
international speaker in real estate, and actively involved in the Realtor
Association. She has served as 2002 Washington Realtors state president,
2006 Region 12 Vice President for NAR, 2007 NAR Liaison, 2011 NAR
President's Liaison to Malaysia. She has been an NAR Director for 15 years.
She is a contributing writer to “The Real Estate Professional,” a national
magazine.
Meyer has earned the ABR, CRS, GRI SRES, and SRS designations. She also
teaches the ABR, SRES and SRS classes. She will make you laugh and make
Pili Meyer you think.
While best known for her work in agency and buyer representation, Meyer
emphasizes communication and understanding human dynamics no matter
what the subject matter.
Mr. Ernest Towle, i-Property Ernest has over 17 years of working experience in various
positions in brick and mortar businesses across several industries.
The last 3 years were spent in a job portal and at iProperty.com Malaysia's largest online
property portal.
In a short span of time, he has witnessed how technology is evolving and how it affects and
impacts businesses, their customers and individuals alike.
His conclusion towards embracing IT for your business is that if you are not into it, you will be
eclipsed by your competition if not already.
Ernest Towle
Dominic Lee joined the Land banking business through Walton International Properties in
2005 as a Sales Consultant / Executive - Land Management. He later joined Edgeworth
Properties (M) Sdn Bhd to spearhead the business in East Malaysia in early 2007, and was
heavily involved in the training of all sales consultants of the company. He was also a public
speaker for the company for public seminars. He is currently Business Development
Advisor to Borneo Real Estate.
While with Borneo Real Estate, he established a partnership with the principal of Borneo
Real Estate and set up First Asia Properties (M) Sdn Bhd and First Asia Properties (HK) Ltd
in 2010, marketing a varied range of international properties. He is also the CEO (Sales &
Marketing) and shareholder of these two companies, primarily involved in bringing new
Dominic Lee business opportunities to the real estate industry in the region.
