PREFACE
In these days people are thinking and talking about the Antichrist more than in the
past. It is indeed an undeniable fact that these are the end-times. While the Church is getting
ready to meet Christ Who is to appear soon to take away His Bride, the world is rolling out
the red carpet to usher in the rule of the Antichrist. Very soon the world-regime will pass
into the hands of this ruler who will hold sway over every human life on earth. An in-depth
analysis of the Scriptures tells us that he will enforce his laws on the people, make a false
treaty with the Jews, and finally demand worship by declaring himself to be God!
After the rapture of the perfected saints at the secret coming of Christ, the devil
(depicted as the dragon), will give his seat, power and great authority to the Antichrist (beast

1
rising from the sea) (Rev.13:1,2). And, together with the false prophet (beast coming up out
of the earth) (vs.11), they will make a trio and establish a world government that will last for
seven years. This period, known as the Period of Tribulation, will culminate in the battle of
Armageddon, at the end of which, the Antichrist and the false prophet will be cast into the
lake of fire (Rev.19:20). The devil will be thrown into this same place after the battle of Gog
and Magog which will take place after the Millennial reign (Rev.20:7-10).
Though the Antichrist will actually come into power as world-ruler only after the
secret advent of Jesus, the trinity of Satan is at work in the world even now. In I John 4:1-4
St. John says that many false prophets have gone out into the world and that the Antichrist is
already in the world. The devil is referred to as ‘he that is in the world’. There arises
therefore, the need for us to discern and resist the subtle working of these spirits.
Our present concern is the ‘Antichrist’ who forms part of the trinity of Satan and the
distinctions that exist between Christ and the Antichrist. This book is a study in contrast, of
the names given to Christ and the Antichrist and their differing attributes. The books seeks to
enlighten the reader on the need to understand the spirit and power of the Antichrist that is
strongly at work against God’s people and against His kingdom. Realizing the dangerous
times that we are in, let us firmly resist the Antichrist and take our sure stand for Christ, the
Son of God.
May this book be a blessing in preparing the people of God for the glorious coming of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

1
CHRIST : The Seed of the woman (Gen. 3:14,15 ; Gal. 4:4).
ANTICHRIST : The seed of the serpent (Gen. 3:14,15).
There is no doubt whatever that Christ is the Seed of the woman. "And the
Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle,
and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the
days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Gen.3:14,15) - these
were the words spoken by the Lord God to the serpent after man fell by its subtlety. In this
Scripture portion, mention is made of two seeds. One is the Seed of the woman and the other
is the seed of the serpent. As mentioned in Luke 3:23-38, we find that, to bring this 'Seed of
the woman' into the world in the fulness of times, for the redemption of mankind, God had
chosen seventy-four generations from Adam.
We also understand that the Spirit of Christ had been working even from the time of
the Old Testament saints. The prophets made diligent search concerning the time signified,
when the Spirit of Christ which was in them foretold the sufferings of Christ and the glory
that should follow (I Pet.1:11). "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but
unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have
preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the
angels desire to look into" (vs.12).
The New Testament portion of the Scriptures tells us that the Seed of the woman,
(spoken of in prophetical portions) Who was of the seed of David who was of the seed of
Abraham, was born of a woman, in the fulness of times, for the salvation of mankind
(Rom.1:3; Gal.3:16; 4:4). "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanuel." This is a prophecy in Isaiah 7:14. We read about the fulfilment of this
prophecy in Matthew 1: 20-23. There we read of the angel telling Joseph that Mary would
bring forth a son. He says, "Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from
their sins." God gave our Saviour Jesus through a virgin, as a gift to the world, to save all
mankind from sin.

2
He had to be of the seed of Abraham, for all nations to experience the promises given
by God to Abraham (Gal.3:14-16). He was born of the seed of David and became Lord in
order to reveal His endless kingdom (Lk.1:32, 33). Moreover, through His resurrection, He
became the Corner Stone of the Church in the name of Christ, because when Peter said to
Him, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God", He said, "Upon this rock (Christ) I will
build my church" (Matt. 16:16,18). In saying this, He affirmed that He was the Corner Stone
of the Church and that the Church would be built upon Him. Thus, the Seed of the woman is
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Genesis 3:15 is a prophecy regarding the seed of the serpent. Since the serpent has a
seed, it should be a father. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of
it", said the Lord Jesus to the Jews (Jn.8:44). The devil has been thrice mentioned as 'father'
in this verse. The Jews boast that Abraham is their father and that God is also their Father
(vs.39,41). But the Lord Jesus says that the devil is their father and that they are his children
(vs.44). As the Lord Jesus Christ said concerning the Jews of His time, even today it could be
said of those who are enslaved to the traditions of society and do the works of the devil as
their forefathers had done. Just as Christ, the Seed of the woman had worked as the Spirit of
truth in the Old Testament times, the Antichrist, the seed of the serpent has been working as
the spirit of lying from the beginning. It is concerning this that Apostle John said, "Even now
already is it in the world" (I Jn.4:3).
During the Period of Tribulation, the Antichrist will work as the political leader and
the false prophet, as the religious leader. From Genesis chapters 10 and 11, we can
understand that the spirits of both had been working from the beginning. We find it
mentioned about Nimrod, the mighty hunter in Genesis 10:8,9. Babel in the land of Shinar
was the beginning of his kingdom (vs.10). We read about its fame in the prophetical book of
Daniel. Babylon is referred to as 'The lady of kingdoms' in Isaiah 47:5. In Jeremiah 51:7 we
read, "Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the
nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad." This 'golden cup' reveals a
worship filled with all kinds of abominations and idolatry. The woman described in
Revelation chapter 17 viz., Babylon the Great, is a sign of the apostate church in which
'falling away from the faith' has taken place (vs.4,5). It is known that just as the Spirit of
Christ worked in the Old Testament saints, the spirit of Antichrist had worked in the heathen
kings like Nimrod and Nebuchadnezzar. Therefore, the spirit of lying had been working in
the heathen kings in order to destroy the Israelites who had received the divine truths.
The Lord Jesus Who was the Word that became flesh and the Seed of the woman,
has sown His Word, the good seed and is working to make us His precious fruit (Matt.13:24;
I Pet.1:23; Jam.5:7). At the same time, the enemy is moulding and forming the wicked ones
by sowing tares of erroneous doctrines and lies. Let us take heed lest we too become wicked
by allowing these tares of false doctrines to be sown in us.
Jesus is the Seed of the woman. Concerning us Jesus has said, "Behold I and the
children which God hath given me" (Heb.2:13). Thus, we are the seed of Christ. Therefore, it
is said, "A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation"
(Psa.22:30) and "When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he
shall prolong his days" (Isa.53:10). The perfected, glorious New Testament Church is that
seed. For this the joy that was set before Him, Jesus endured the cross, despising the shame
(Eph.5:27; Heb.12:2). Realizing the greatness and the depth of the sacrifice that Jesus made
in order to make us His seed, let us be diligent to preserve the great salvation that Jesus has
earned for us and remain His seed till the end.

2
CHRIST : The Lamb of God (Jn. 1:29)
ANTICHRIST : The terrible beast (Rev. 13:1)

3
Christ, Who was foreordained (for man-kind) before the foundation of the
world and slain from the foundation of the world, is the Lamb (Rev.13:8) Who, when the
fulness of time was come, was revealed to bear the sins of the world and became a sacrifice
on the cross to make atonement for sin (I Pet.1:20). It is said about Him, "He is brought as a
lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his
mouth" (Isa.53:7). The sinner is redeemed only by the precious blood of the Lamb which is
without blemish and spot (I Pet.1:19).
In Revelation 11:7, the Antichrist is mentioned as the beast that ascends out of the
bottomless pit and in 13:1, as the one rising up out of the sea. The dragon, in whom a host of
evil spirits dwell, gives his power and authority to this Antichrist rising from the sea of a
multitude of nations (Rev.13:2,7). This Antichrist is described as a beast like unto a leopard
with his feet as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion (vs.1,2). This means
that he will be a man possessing such beastly characters. This Antichrist is no ordinary man.
It is written that all the world will wonder after the beast (vs.3). He may come in a figure,
seemingly to save mankind, owing to which the inhabitants of this earth will begin to worship
him.
The only way to be delivered from the hands of this beast is through Jesus Christ, the
Lamb Who took our sins away. Friend, this Lamb became a sacrifice in order to make
atonement for your sins. This is the accepted time to receive that eternal redemption. If you
miss this good opportunity, you will be caught in the jaws of the beast from where you can
have no escape. There will be no one to rescue you.

3
CHRIST : Horn of salvation (Psa. 148:14; Lk. 1:69; II Sam. 22:3)
ANTICHRIST : Little horn (Dan. 7:8,11)
The word 'horn' in the Bible has several meanings, such as power, strength
(Deut.33:17; Num.23:22); lifting up on high (Psa.75:4,5); might of the army.
Christ is the Horn of salvation. The Lord God has raised up Christ, the Horn of
salvation for us in the seed of His servant David. This He did in order to perform the mercies
promised to our fathers and so that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might
serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life
(Lk.1:71-75).
Revelation 5:6 portrays the Lord Jesus as the Lamb, having seven horns and seven
eyes which are the seven Spirits of God. These horns denote the perfection of power, and the
eyes, the perfection of wisdom. "Christ (is) the power of God, and the wisdom of God" (I
Cor.1:24). The Church should attain the perfection of power and wisdom. It is to this end that
the nine gifts of the Spirit operate in the Church (I Cor.12:8-10). Of these, six gifts can be
grouped as the `gifts of wisdom', while the other three gifts namely, the gift of faith, the gifts
of healing, the gift of working of miracles, as the `gifts of power'. These nine gifts operate in
the Church, leading it to perfection.
Concerning the gospel of Christ, St. Paul says, "... it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth" (Rom.1:16). Not only does the gospel of Christ deliver
us from sin, curse, sickness, death, sorrow and the powers of Satan through Christ Who is the
Horn of salvation, but it also helps us attain the perfection of Christ.
Horn signifies strength. Those who have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and
abide therein, have the strength of a unicorn. "Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee ...
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God"
(Psa.84:5-7). In II Samuel 3:1 we read that, "David waxed stronger and stronger". That was
when he abode in Hebron. The word 'Hebron' means 'fellowship'. Through the anointing
received by living in fellowship with God everyday, one can receive strength upon strength
and appear before God in Zion.
We read that David took the stronghold of Zion (II Sam.5:7). One had to go up the
gutter and destroy the lame and the blind to capture Zion. 'Going up the gutter' spiritually

4
signifies the lowliness of mind that one should have in order to inherit Zion. Destroying the
'lame' and the 'blind' refers to destroying the spirits which work (within and without) against
being led by the Spirit and against spiritual revelation. Accordingly, the consecrated New
Testament servants of God who are willing to 'go up the gutter' striving against these spirits
will prevail over them and take possession of Zion. The Lamb of God stands on Mount Zion
(Rev. 14:1). These servants of God who reflect the humility, wisdom and strength of the
Lamb of God Who humbled Himself, are also seen standing on Mount Zion.
The fourth beast among the four terrible beasts seen by the prophet Daniel, depicts
the Roman Empire and the 'little horn', the Antichrist. "After this I saw in the night visions,
and behold a fourth beast . . . and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there
came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns
plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and, a
mouth speaking great things" (Dan.7:7,8). "... the same horn made war with the saints, and
prevailed against them" (vs.21). "The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth"
(vs.23). "And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another
shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the
most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a
time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away
his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end" (vs.24-26). This 'beast' signifies the
Roman Empire and the 'little horn', the Antichrist. "And out of one of them came forth a little
horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the
pleasant land" (Dan.8:9). The pleasant land depicts Jerusalem. "... for at the time of the end
shall be the vision" (vs.17). The end time refers to the Tribulation Period to come. Are not
most of these things mentioned in the Book of Revelation? [(Dan.7:25; Rev.13:5); (Rev.
17:12; Dan. 7:24)].
Christ, the Horn, has eyes, revealing the wisdom of God. In the horn that signifies the
Antichrist were eyes like the eyes of man that are never satisfied, and a mouth speaking great
things (Dan.7:8; Eccl.1:8). Christ, the Horn, leads man to salvation. The horn that signifies
the Antichrist destroys man. The lips of Christ pour forth words of grace. The mouth of the
Antichrist is filled with pride and blasphemies (Dan.7:8,25; Rev.13:5). Christ is the Horn of
salvation to the saints (Psa.18:2). The horn signifying the Antichrist will make war with the
saints and prevail against them (Dan. 7:21). Some of the saints of the remnant Church will be
killed as they will refuse to worship the beast and will not receive the mark 'six hundred and
sixty-six' (Rev.13:15-17). Christ the Horn, will be exalted for the praise of all His saints
(Psa.148:14). The dominion of the horn, that is the Antichrist, will be taken away to be
consumed and be destroyed at the end (Dan.7:26).
Christ, the Horn of salvation, is not only able to deliver and save us from our
sins, but is also able to perfect us and save us to the uttermost. Let us be kept by the power of
God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

4
CHRIST : The Arm of the Lord (Isa. 53:1)
ANTICHRIST:The arm of the wicked and the evil man (Psa. 10:15)
"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?"
(Isa.53:1). The Scriptural portions referring to "the arm of the Lord" in the prophecy of Isaiah
(40:10; 51:9,10) reveal Christ. While Christ was in the world, He revealed Himself as the Son
of God. He performed signs and wonders by the power of God that the Jews might believe
that He was 'the Arm of the Lord'. Concerning the Jews who did not believe Him, Apostle
John says, "But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on
him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath
believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they
could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened

5
their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be
converted, and I should heal them" (Jn.12:37-40).
In like manner, the god of this world has blinded the minds of them that do not
believe. He has blinded them on the basis of religion and society that they might not believe
this holy Arm and His work of salvation and become vessels of blessing, for, only those who
believe are blessed. When the eunuch under Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians was
reading the Scripture portion relating to this Arm (Isa. ch.53), on his way back from
Jerusalem, the Spirit of the Lord urged Philip to join himself to his chariot. Philip explained
to him the portion he was reading. He believed it, was baptized in water and went on his way
rejoicing (Acts 8:39).
Prophet Isaiah foresaw this Arm being made a sacrifice to deliver mankind from sin,
curse, sickness and death (Isa. ch.53). In fulfilment of this, Christ came into the world, lived,
died, was buried and rose from the dead. Further, it is said that it was this Arm which
delivered the children of Israel and judged Rahab (Egypt). It also dried the sea for the
ransomed to pass over (Isa.51:9,10). In the war of Armageddon that is to come, this Arm
shall judge those that come up against Israel and shall bring back the literal children of Israel,
the redeemed of the Lord, to this earthly Zion with singing and everlasting joy (vs.11).
Moreover, this Arm shall come to reign. "Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand,
and his arm shall rule for him"
(Isa. 40:10). Concerning the Lord Jesus ruling this world for a thousand years, it has
been said, "And there were great voices in heaven, saying, ... The kingdoms of this world are
become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever"
(Rev.11:15).
Just as the Arm of the Lord speaks of Christ, it may be said that the arm of the wicked
speaks of the Antichrist. "Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his
wickedness till thou find none"(Psa.10:15) says the Psalmist. During the Period of
Tribulation, he shall perform signs and wonders by which the Jews will consider him to be
the Messiah and enter into a covenant with him. But later, when they realize that he is not the
true Messiah, they will break their covenant with him, as a result of which he will persecute
them. So the Antichrist, the arm of the wicked shall bind them in sorrow. That spirit is
already working in the world.
When this diabolic power shall be at work, he shall kill the people with the sword,
with hunger, with death and with beasts (Rev.6:8). He shall be the cause of all wickedness
and evil in the world during the Period of Tribulation. At that time the arm of the wicked
shall rule over the children of Israel.
Christ, the Arm of the Lord, shall destroy the power of the Antichrist, the arm of the
wicked and the evil man, and execute judgment upon him, and reign as the King of kings in
the Millennium.
If we surrender our lives into the hands of Christ, the Arm of the Lord, He will not
only save us from our sins, but also save us from the arm of the wicked and the evil one. Let
us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of the Lord that we might experience the
blessings of Christ, the Arm of the Lord and reign with Him.

5
CHRIST : The mystery of godliness (I Tim. 3:16).
ANTICHRIST: The mystery of iniquity (II Thess. 2:7).
The mystery of godliness is a truth revealed to the saints of God. "And without
controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
glory" (I Tim.3:16). It is wonderful to note how Christ, the second Person of the Trinity,
revealed humility, one of the traits of His character, and was made manifest in the flesh for
the redemption of fallen mankind. Concerning this, St.Paul, in his epistle to the Philippians
writes, "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But

6
made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the
likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" (2:6-8). This is the mystery of godliness.
Those who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus must humble themselves. The apostle says
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Phil.2:5). Christ Who humbled
Himself was given a name above every other name. In this manner, is the mystery of
godliness seen in humility.
There are different kinds of devotion towards God in the world as a 'form of
godliness', religious fanaticism etc. All these only make men reveal themselves and be
praised by others. But "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit
the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world"
says St. James in his epistle (1:27). There are two aspects in this: (1) works of righteousness
(2) Holiness. To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction depicts works of
righteousness, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world reveals a holy life. Christ lived a
life of separation in this world by putting on humility, doing works of righteousness and by
keeping Himself unspotted by the world.
Those who are truly godly should not glory in anything of this world. St. Paul says
that when the mystery of godliness was revealed to him, he reckoned the greatness of his
caste and race, his education and position as loss, to exercise true godliness: "Yea doubtless,
and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, ... That I may
know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made
conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead"
(Phil.3:8,10,11). St. Paul had done this to attain the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
and to win Him. He says that by the consecration of suffering the loss of all things and
counting them as dung, one could win Christ and be made a partaker of the glorious
resurrection. True godliness signifies not only ceasing from works of sin, but also being
sanctified from the nature of sin, and obtaining perfect deliverance from distinctions of caste,
race and language. The doctrine pertaining to godliness is essential for us to live a truly godly
life.
As it is mentioned "... godliness with contentment is great gain"(I Tim.6:6), he who
exercises true godliness will be absolutely content. St. Paul who exercised true godliness
says, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to
be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to
be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need" (Phil.4:11,12).
True godliness entails sufferings. Therefore, we find that even Christ suffered in the
flesh. (I Pet. 4:1). All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II
Tim.3:12). Christ went through diverse kinds of suffering before He was taken up into glory.
It is better, if the will of God be so, that we suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. We may
be misunderstood and misjudged for no fault of ours. But when we yield ourselves to
tribulation and even unto death, we will be made partakers of the sufferings of Christ in this
world and of His glory in the world to come.
"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until
he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed..." (II Thess.2:7,8). Here
the One "who now letteth", refers to the Holy Spirit. After the perfected saints and the Holy
Spirit are taken up from the earth at the secret coming of the Lord Jesus, the Antichrist will
be at full liberty and will reveal himself. His coming will be after the working of Satan, with
all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in
them that perish. He will sit in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God (II
Thess.2:4,9,10). All those whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life will
worship him. The mystery of iniquity which is the spirit of Antichrist denies the mystery of
godliness, that is, Christ made manifest in the flesh (I Jn.2:22; 4:3). The deceitful working of
this wicked one is, that he being a man, will exalt himself above God, and, clothed in

7
gorgeous robes, will make others worship him. Man should not be worshipped as God.
We ought to live, discerning all things through the Holy Spirit. Since Christ humbled
Himself, He was exalted far above all heavens. But the Antichrist, the mystery of iniquity,
will be condemned to eternal damnation, owing to pride. Let us not be deceived but excercise
true godliness, for, "godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now
is, and of that which is to come" (I Tim.4:8).

6
CHRIST : The Lord of glory (ICor. 2:8)
ANTICHRIST: The ruler of darkness (Eph. 6:12).
When God created man, he had crowned him with glory and honour (Psa.8:5). But
man's fall left him bereft of the glory of God (Rom.3:23).
Christ came into the world as the Lord of glory, as the True Light, as the Dayspring
from on high, to give light to them that sit in darkness, to lighten every man. We only have to
open wide the gates of our heart and Jesus as the King of glory will enter in, causing the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God the Father in His face to shine in our hearts, and
expelling all darkness (Psa.24:7,8; II Cor. 4:6). This, the princes of the world were ignorant
of. Blinded and held captive by the spirit of the world rulers of the darkness of this world,
they crucified the Lord of glory (I Cor.2:8).
Being delivered from the power of darkness, we are translated into the 'kingdom of
His dear Son' (Col.1:13), where Christ rules as the Lord of glory, seated on the throne of
glory. Here, in this kingdom, we are made partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light
(vs.12). Continuing to behold the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, we are constantly being
transfigured into His very image, in ever increasing splendour and from one degree of glory
to another
(II Cor.3:18). This work is effected by the glorious gospel, the glorious ministry and
the Spirit of glory (II Cor.4:4; 3:8; I Pet.4:14).
The people of this world will not know that the Antichrist will be a very cruel
lord whom the world has not seen so far. He will reveal himself as the ruler of the world
through his subtlety. In the book of Daniel, it has been mentioned that he will capture the
kingdom during peaceful times through his crafty policy (8:25). He will become like a cruel
beast because of the greatness he receives by the power of the dragon (Rev.13:2).
His reign will be one of terrible tribulation. The former part of this tribulation is for
the remnant Church and the latter part is for the Jews. His reign will be a period of darkness
which has been referred to as 'night'. The coming of the Lord will be a 'dawn' to the Bride
who is found ready, but the period following will be 'night' for those who are left behind at
His secret coming and remain under the rule of the Antichrist. Concerning this Isaiah says,
"The morning cometh and also the night" (21:12).
We should be on our guard to see that we do not fall into the hands of the ruler of
darkness. By accepting Christ the Lord of glory, and by going on from glory to glory by the
Spirit of glory, may we prepare ourselves to be found worthy to appear with Him in glory.

CHRIST :The Son of man (Lk. 19:10)
ANTICHRIST:The son of perdition (II Thess. 2:3).
Through the Word of God we come to know that Jesus Christ is the Son in
three different aspects. He is the Son of man (Matt.8:20). In the Bible, Jesus Christ is referred
to as the Son of man about 88 times. He is also called the Son of David (Matt.1:1) and the
Son of God (Lk.1:35; 8:28; Matt.16:16). Jesus became the Redeemer of all mankind in the
name of the Son of man. He stands as the Son of David in His royalty and position, and as the
Son of God in His relationship with the Church.
"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Lk.19:10). The
'Son of man came to minister and to give His life a ransom for many' (Matt.20:28). He

8
became the Son of man in order to teach the life of perfect consecration to man. "The Son of
man hath not where to lay his head" (Matt. 8:20). He became the Son of man to endure
sufferings (Mk.8:31). Since He is the Son of man, He is given the authority to execute
judgment (Jn.5:27). About the secret coming of the Lord Jesus too, it is said, "Therefore be
ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matt. 24:44).
From what is mentioned above, we can understand the various purposes of Christ becoming
the Son of man.
Jesus Who is called the 'Son of David' (Matt.1:1) was born of the seed of David. Of
Him it is said, "The Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David ... and of his
kingdom there shall be no end"(Lk.1:32,33). The 'throne of David' speaks of the royal
authority of Jesus. When He was in the world, He revealed His dominion and His power
because He delivered the people from sin, sickness, snares of the devil and from darkness.
Being a prophet, David knew that God would raise up Christ to sit on his throne (Acts 2:30).
The prophetical utterance in relation to this says, "And David my servant shall be king over
them" (Ezek.37:24). This will be literally fulfilled in the Millennium when the Jews shall
worship Him as their Lord and King. "But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David
their king, whom I will raise up unto them" (Jer.30:9).
The Lord Jesus Who is known as the 'Son of man' and the 'Son of David' is declared
to be the `Son of God' with power by the resurrection from the dead. "Concerning his Son
Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the
resurrection from the dead" (Rom.1:3,4).
In II Thessalonians 2:3, the Antichrist is referred to as the `son of perdition.' The
Lord Jesus had referred to Judas as the son of perdition (Jn.17:12). The spirit of the son of
perdition entered Judas, making him a thief and a covetous man. Hence, let us take heed not
to give room to the spirit of the son of perdition and be lost like him. Even today many do
not understand that this spirit of Antichrist who is the son of perdition is making many
children of God covetous and thus destroying them. The Lord Jesus said, "The thief cometh
not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy" (Jn.10:10). Many are falling away from their
first faith. It has been questioned, "When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the
earth?" (Lk.18:8).
Through our being baptized in the Holy Spirit, we receive the `Spirit of adoption'
whereby we cry `Abba, Father' (Rom. 8:15). We are given this Spirit of adoption that we
might be manifested as the sons of God at the secret coming of the Lord. May we, therefore,
groan within ourselves that we might receive our eternal adoption, that is, the redemption of
our body, when we will be manifested as the sons of God.

8
CHRIST : The Creator God (Jn. 1:1-3 ; Col. 1:15-17)
ANTICHRIST: A created being.
God, the Father created all things through Christ the Son. In the beginning, the Son
was with the Father. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made" (Jn.1:2,3). "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every
creature; For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible
and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist"
(Col. 1:15-17). The triune God is the Creator God (Gen.1:1). The gods that have not made the
heavens and the earth will perish from this earth and from under heaven (Jer.10:11). "He hath
made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched
out the heavens by his discretion" (vs.12). He is the former of all things (vs.16). "The Lord by
wisdom hath founded the earth: by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his
knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew" (Prov.3:19,20). "For
the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood

9
by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead" (Rom.1:20).
At the commencement of the Millennium, the Creator God will change this evil
world and its state and will create a new heaven and a new earth. "For, behold, I create new
heavens and a new earth" (Isa. 65:17; 66:22). Then the state of this temporal world will be
changed and restored to Edenic perfection.
The new heavens and the new earth referred to in the prophetical book of Isaiah and
the ones mentioned in Revelation chapter 21 are not the same, because in Revelation 21:1,2
we read, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were
passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband". Here
the apostle John does not say that the New Heaven and the New Earth were created, but says
that he 'saw' them. So they should have been created in former times. These habitations are a
perfect creation of the righteousness of God formed in the saints who lived during the various
dispensations. That is why in II Peter 3:13 it is said, "we, according to his promise, look for
new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness". In these, the higher
experiences of New Jerusalem and Zion are the experiences created in us in Christ Jesus in
this age (Eph.2:10; II Cor.5:17). The apostle John sees a group of people who have been
perfected in the natures of the triune God, the Creator God, as a holy city descending from
God.
The Antichrist will be the political leader, rising from the United Roman Empire of
the days to come. He shall rise to this high position through his fierce countenance and
'understanding dark sentences' (Dan.8:23). He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above
every god and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods and shall prosper till the
indignation be accomplished (Dan.11:36). The dragon, the old serpent which is the foremost
of the trinity of Satan, will give his seat, power and great authority to this man, the beast
(Rev.13:2). The Antichrist will exalt himself by this authority and showing himself as God,
will set up his image in the temple of God. The false prophet will instigate people to worship
him. Until the appointed time, he will exalt himself and according to the verse which reads,
"pride goeth before destruction" (Prov.16:18), he will head for eternal destruction.
How terrible it is for the creation to exalt itself against its Creator God! This was the
spirit of pride seen in Lucifer, the son of the morning. Let us remember our Creator God.
May we who have been created for His glory, live for His glory and show forth His praises
(Isa.43:7,21).

9
CHRIST : The One rejected of men (Isa. 53:3).
ANTICHRIST: The one accepted of men (Rev. 13:3,4).
Christ Who was made manifest in the flesh was a Saviour, not only to His people
Israel, but also to the whole world. But the Jews of His days had no mind to believe and
accept Him. "He came unto his own, and his own received him not" (Jn.1:11). Even so, He
was rejected by the Gentiles. "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and
acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we
esteemed him not" (Isa.53:3). He was despised and rejected by all - the common people, the
religious leaders, the rulers, even by the thief on the cross. At the hour of His death on the
cross, He was deserted by His own loving disciples. But Christ Who was rejected by men,
became the One chosen of God to be the Foundation in the personal lives of many a soul and
to be the Corner Stone of the Church. "... The stone which the builders rejected, the same is
become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes"
(Matt.21:42; I Pet.2:7).
The Antichrist will be accepted by a great multitude of people who shall be as the sea.
Only a very few will resist him and they shall die as martyrs. "And all that dwell upon
the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world" (Rev.13:8). And all the world shall wonder after the beast

10
and worship him (vs.3,12).
The saints who had trusted in Christ shall rejoice eternally in their habitations in the
eternal kingdom. The Antichrist and all those who joined him shall suffer agony eternally in
the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. Rejecting the Antichrist, who will be accepted of
men, let us accept Christ Who was rejected of men.

10
CHRIST : A Man of sorrows (Isa. 53:3)
ANTICHRIST: The one who inflicts sorrow
Unlike the sorrow of Christ, man's sorrow is due to the anguish caused by sin
(Rom.2:9). But there is no sin in Christ. He did no sin. He knew no sin. Nevertheless, He
Who had no sin was filled with sorrow in His mind and soul, that He might under-stand the
agony of man and give him deliverance. Hence, in Isaiah 53:4 it is said, "Surely he hath borne
our griefs, and carried our sorrows." The one who believes in Him perfectly, and surrenders
to Him, and receives comfort, peace and rest and lives with a hope of the future will be
delivered not only from endless sorrow, but also from the anguish of eternal hell-fire.
The devil is one who sins from the beginning (I Jn.3:8). In him is nothing good.
Therefore, those who sin are the children of the devil. 'He who committeth sin is of the devil.'
Such people suffer misery, sorrow and restlessness. Christ came to deliver those bound by
sorrow of heart and misery of life owing to sin.
The Antichrist deserves to be called the 'man of sin' in all respects. In another
rendering, he is referred to as 'the man of iniquity.' During his reign, people will be
wallowing in injustice and iniquity. The cruelty and persecution meted out by the Antichrist
owing to his wickedness (during the Tribulation Period) will cause people unbearable misery
and distress.
There is only one way to be delivered from the clutches of this man who will be
inflicting sorrow and suffering. That way is to surrender absolutely to the Man of sorrows
Who carried our sorrows.

11
CHRIST : The One Who gave Himself a ransom (ITim. 2:6)
ANTICHRIST: The spoiler (Jer. 15:8)
Ransom is the price paid for freedom. Unless a ransom is paid, the one in captivity
cannot be redeemed. We understand that the great work of the redemption of mankind was
made possible only because a due ransom was paid.
Man cannot be redeemed by anything of this world, neither can he redeem himself.
The Lord Jesus said, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose
his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matt.16:26). From this we
understand that the soul of man is more precious than the whole world. Therefore, what could
be given as a ransom to redeem his soul? "None of them can by any means redeem his
brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it
ceaseth for ever: That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption" (Psa.49:7-9).
Therefore, Jesus the Son of man came ... "to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many"
(Matt.20:28).
The Father loved us and offered His only begotten Son as a ransom for us (Jn.3:16).
We read that He spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all (Rom.8:32). When
Jesus came into the world, He fulfilled the plan of the Father concerning Him by giving
Himself as a ransom to redeem us from the bondage of sin, death and hell. He reconciled the
fallen man with God by His sacrifice and thus became the Mediator between God and man.
"For there is ... one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself
a ransom for all, to be testified in due time" (I Tim.2:5,6). He loved us and gave Himself for
us, says St. Paul (Gal.2:20). He gave Himself that He might redeem us from all iniquity
(Tit.2:14) and that He might deliver us from this present evil world (Gal.1:4). Further, we

11
also read, that He loved the Church and gave Himself for it that He might present it to
Himself a glorious Church (Eph.5:25,27).
Sacrifices were ordained in the Old Testament times to get man reconciled with God.
But because Jesus Himself became a sacrifice for mankind, further sacrifices were made
unnecessary. "Now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself" (Heb.9:26). Jesus has offered one sacrifice for sins forever. "And he is
the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world" (I
Jn.2:2).
Christ came into this world to give His life a ransom for the redemption of man. But
the Antichrist will come as a spoiler. He will come as one who dashes in pieces: "He that
dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face; keep the munition, watch the way, make thy
loins strong, fortify thy power mightily" (Nah.2:1). "I have brought upon them against the
mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday; I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly,
and terrors upon the city" (Jer.15:8). A world stricken with horror and fear will perceive the
spoiler coming upon them. He will be a spoiler in that he will not allow anyone who refuses
his mark, to buy or sell. "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and
bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy
or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name"
(Rev.13:16,17). The efforts taken these days towards the implants of microchips and the use
of the plastic cards are sure signs of this.
Today the spirit of Antichrist is working in the nations of the world at large. This
spirit will cause the Eastern nations to come up against Israel and then the Western countries
will question them saying, "Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to
take a prey ? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?" (Ezek.38:13).
The extortioner mentioned in the prophetical book of Isaiah literally denotes the king
of Babylon (Isa.14:4). But if we study this prophetically, it shows the Antichrist. During the
Period of Tribulation, the Israelites will undergo persecution at the hand of the Antichrist as
they had undergone persecution at the hand of the Babylonian king.
The Antichrist will come as a political leader of the world. The devil will give his seat
(throne) to this persecutor (Rev.13:2). We call this the throne of iniquity (Psa.94:20) because
the Antichrist will spoil and persecute the people. Today this spirit is working through
terrorists. That is why they murder and plunder (Jer.15:8). "They shall cast their silver in the
streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver
them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their
bowels; because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity. As for the beauty of his ornament,
he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable
things therein: therefore have I set it far from them. And I will give it into the hands of the
strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it"
(Ezek.7:19-21). Have not the terrorists caused fear and trembling in many parts of the world
today? There is fear everywhere. The spoiler is frightening people today through terrorists
who are killing without any consideration.
Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, that He might present us to Himself a
glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish. Let us surrender
ourselves that this divine purpose may be fulfilled in our lives.

12
CHRIST : The Redeemer (Isa. 59:20; Rom. 11:26).
ANTICHRIST: The destroyer (Dan. 8:24; Rev. 13:10,15).
We can see Christ as a Redeemer in the Old Testament. Job says, "I know that my
redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth" (Job 19:25). The Lord
worked in order to redeem the Old Testament Israelites from the bondage of Egypt
(Exo.15:16). In the Book of Ruth, Boaz who acted as redeemer, is a shadow of Christ (4:4).

12
In the first two chapters of his epistle to the Romans, St. Paul says that both the Jews
and the Greeks are under sin and that the whole world is under the condemnation of God.
Hence, a ransom was needed to redeem the man fallen in sin. He could not be redeemed by
anything of this world, neither could he redeem himself.
Christ took the form of man in order to redeem the fallen mankind, that is, to
purchase us with a price (Gal.4:4,5). He came into the world, condemned sin in the flesh by
His death (Rom.8:3) and wrought eternal redemption. We are justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:24). The wages of sin is death. Christ
abolished death by His own death. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins (Eph.1:7). "ye were not redeemed with ... silver and gold ..... But with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (I Pet.1:18,19). In
the Old Testament times the Israelites were reconciled to God through the offerings made as
a type of the sacrifice of Christ. And now in the New Testament times we obtain this
reconciliation through the true sacrifice of Christ. There is therefore, eternal redemption for
all through Him.
Christ redeemed us from various things: "In whom we have redemption through his
blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Eph.1:7). "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us
from all iniquity..." (Tit.2:14). "ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and
gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the
precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (I Pet.1:18,19).
"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree" (Gal.3:13). He has redeemed us to God by His
blood out of every kindred, and tongue and people, and nation (Rev.5:9). "I will ransom them
from the power of the grave, I will redeem them from death" (Hos.13:14).
Christ will appear the second time for the people redeemed by Him that they might
attain the adoption, that is, the redemption of their body. This is said to be the glorious liberty
of the sons of God (Rom.8:20-23). After the Millennium, in the coming eternity, the
redeemed ones shall live in various mansions according to the growth that they have attained
in God's righteousness. Hence, we say that this is eternal redemption (Heb.9:12; II Pet.3:13).
As far as the Israelites are concerned, during the Great Tribulation for three and a half
years which is the latter part of the Tribulation Period, only one hundred and forty-four
thousand of them will be sealed and redeemed. During the battle of Armageddon, which is to
take place at the end of this Tribulation Period, all nations and people of all languages will be
gathered to fight against the Israelites (Zech.14:1,2). The Redeemer from Zion will appear on
Mount Olives to deliver those who are set free from transgression in Israel (in Jacob) and
who cry and mourn. He will bring an end to the battle and the Millennial Reign will
commence (vs.3,4). "Then the Lord shall be king over all the earth" (vs.9). And those who are
partakers of the first resurrection shall reign together with Him as kings and priests for a
thousand years (Rev.20:6).
Thus, we see Christ appearing many times as Redeemer. The first time, He was
manifested in the flesh, lived in this world in the name of Jesus, was slain as a Lamb, and
wrought eternal redemption for us. He will again appear in mid-air in His glorious resurrected
body for the redemption of the Bridal Church. And finally, He will appear as King of kings
on Mount Olives together with all His saints from heaven, at the end of the Tribulation Period
for the redemption of the literal Israelites of that day. Thus shall the prophetical word that He
shall appear as the Redeemer be perfectly fulfilled (Isa.59:20).
Christ, the Redeemer, redeems the mankind fallen in sin, and through the anointing in
the Holy Spirit, He makes them kings and priests worthy of His throne. But then, the
Antichrist, by his subtle counsel, will take over the rule of the world by supporting the Jews
and the Gentiles. When the people of this world who are suffering from persecution and
poverty are waiting for their deliverance, this destroyer will come up from the sea ie., from
peoples, and multitudes and nations and tongues (Rev.13:1; 17:15) with his false promises.
During the first three and a half years of tribulation, all those who refuse to worship

13
the image of the beast, the Antichrist, will be killed. Multitudes will die as martyrs in this
tribulation (Rev.7:14,15; 15:2; 20:4). And during the Great Tribulation, he will deal cruelly
with the Jews. Therefore, the Antichrist will be one who will not redeem any, but one who
will destroy all those who resist him. Only those who are sealed among the Jews will be
preserved for the Millennial Reign.
During the second three and a half years of tribulation, owing to the intensity of the
persecution, the Israelites shall look upon Him Whom they had pierced and shall mourn for
Him (Zech.12:10). As we have seen already, then shall the Messiah, their Redeemer descend
on Mount Olives. He will come as the King of kings. The one who persecuted them will be
cast alive into the lake of fire unto eternal judgment (Rev.19:20). This will take place at the
end of the war of Armaggedon which will take place at the end of the seven years' Tribulation
Period. Multitudes of people (viz., nations - Rev.20:3) and the one hundred and forty- four
thousand Israelites who have been redeemed literally would enter the Millennium and be
found as citizens in the Millennial Kingdom. The four groups that have received resurrected
bodies (the perfected Church, the tribulation martyrs, Enoch and Elijah, the Old Testament
saints and the general martyrs) will reign for a thousand years in the renewed earth with their
Redeemer, the King of kings. Then the whole creation which now groans and travails in pain
to be delivered from the bondage of corruption, shall receive deliverance.
Jesus has shed His precious blood and has redeemed our soul. But we are still waiting
and groaning for our final redemption, the redemption of our body. This will be on the day
we meet Jesus, our Redeemer in mid-air. It rests with us to get ourselves prepared for that
glorious day. "And his wife hath made herself ready" (Rev.19:7).

13
CHRIST : The Good Shepherd (Jn. 10:11)
ANTICHRIST : The foolish shepherd (Zech. 11:15)
When He was in the world, the Lord Jesus Christ ascribed to Himself seven
remarkable qualities as referred to in the Gospel according to St. John. Similarly, in the Book
of Revelation are recorded certain characteristic traits that He mentioned about Himself after
His resurrection. These reveal that the blessings which man lost due to sin could be received
only through the Lord Jesus Christ.
In St. John's Gospel :
1. "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that
believeth on me shall never thirst"; "I am the bread which came down from heaven"
(6:35,41).
2. "I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life". "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world" (8:12;
9:5).
3. "I am the door of the sheep" (10 :7).
4. "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep" (10:11).
5. "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live" (11:25).
6. "I am the way, the truth, and the life : no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"
(14:6).
7. "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman" (15:1).
In the Book of Revelation :
1. "I am Alpha and Omega" (1:8; 21:6; 22:13).
2. "I am the beginning and the ending" (1:8).
3. "I am the first and the last" (1:17).
4. "I ... was dead" (1:18).
5. "And, behold, I am alive for evermore" (1:18).
6. "I am the root and the offspring of David" (22:16).
7. "I am ... the bright and morning star" (22:16).

14
One of the seven attributes Jesus ascribes to Himself as mentioned in the Gospel
according to St.John is that He is the `Good Shepherd' (10:11). He became the Good
Shepherd by giving His life for the sheep. "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned every one to his own way...." (Isa.53:6). As a Good Shepherd, He offered up His life
as a sacrifice on Calvary to turn us to Himself. "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are
now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls"(I Pet.2:25). Psalm 22 contains
many prophetical truths of the Good Shepherd giving His life for the sheep. David, in the
twenty-third Psalm says, "The Lord is my shepherd" and describes the way in which the Lord
feeds and preserves him. As a figurative representation, in the same Psalm we see how the
Great Shepherd Jesus, nourishes and preserves the Church which He has purchased with His
own blood. Hebrews 13:20 reads: "Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead
our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting
covenant". He is not only a Great Shepherd, but also the Chief Shepherd.
Judgment was pronounced on the shepherds of the Old Testament period because
they lived a selfish life, considering their own welfare and not guarding or taking care of the
flock (Jer.50:6). Therefore it is said about them, "Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do
feed themselves" (Ezek.34:2). To the shepherds of the New Testament times the apostle says,
"Feed the flock of God ... taking the oversight thereof ... being ensamples to the flock. And
when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away"
(I Pet.5:2-4). Therefore, with the spirit of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, our Great and Chief
Shepherd, let us live as ensamples to the flock and serve Him, to receive the crown of glory
that fades not away. The One Who came to give His life as a Good Shepherd and gather His
people into one fold, was betrayed for thirty pieces of silver (Zech.11:12). The prophecy
uttered in Zechariah 13:7, "Smite the shepherd", was fulfilled at Calvary, owing to which the
door to salvation was opened for mankind.
In Zechariah 11:15-17, it is said that the children of Israel shall follow a foolish, idol
shepherd and that he will destroy them. The Word of God clearly says that the Israelites will
make a covenant and have fellowship with the foolish, idol shepherd, the Antichrist, in the
beginning of the Tribulation Period to come, and also that this covenant will be broken at the
end of the first three and a half years of tribulation. Concerning him it is said, "For, lo, I will
raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek
the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the
flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the
flock...". The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep and gathers them, whereas the
foolish, idol shepherd eats the flesh of the sheep and tears their claws in pieces.
The Lord Jesus, the Chief Shepherd will appear soon. If we are not caught up at His
coming, we will find ourselves under the cruel reign of the foolish shepherd, the Antichrist.
Which shepherd are we getting ready to meet?

14
CHRIST : The Way, the Truth, and the Life (Jn. 14:6)
ANTICHRIST: The way of lying (Psa. 119:29); liar (Jn. 8:44); Death (Isa. 28:15,18;
Rev. 6:8)
When He was in this world, the Lord Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (Jn.14:6), to mankind that is alienated
from the life of God owing to sin and gropes about in darkness not knowing the right path,
gripped with the fear of death. Christ did not come to found a religion. He is the Way to God
the Father. Christ alone is the Way for those who go astray, the Word of Truth to those
deceived by lies, and eternal Life to those in the bands of death. Truth signifies hope; Way,
the riches of glory; and Life, the exceeding greatness of His power (Eph.1:18,19). The
strength of life is essential for those who come into this hope through the truth and abide in
the way of glory, to attain perfection. What great joy it is that Christ the hope of glory lives in
us ! In New Jerusalem, Christ the Truth shall be the Living Waters and Christ the Life, the

15
Tree of Life. Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life remains unchanging forever. He is the
Beginning and the End.
While Christ is the Way (to God the Father), the Truth and the Life, the Antichrist, on
the contrary, is the way of lying, the liar and Death. Christ is the truth. The Antichrist is the
liar. Christ is life. "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly", He has said (Jn.10:10). The Antichrist is death and the power that estranges men
from the life of God.
Death entered Adam through disobedience. Through one man sin, and through sin
death entered the world. Death reigned over man. This power of death worked in the garden
of Gethsemane to separate the Lord Jesus from the will of God. In order to be delivered from
this power of death, He offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears and
was heard in that He feared (Heb.5:7). This prayer was not for receiving deliverance from
physical death for it is said that He 'was heard', whereas He died and His body was buried.
When the power of death tried to enter Him to sever Him from the will of God, He strove for
victory and was delivered. He destroyed these powers through His death and has wrought
perfect victory over death. There will be spiritual blindness in the world during the reign of
the Anti- christ. People will not accept the love of the truth. Therefore God will send them a
strong delusion to believe lies.
While Christ joins man with God Who is the source of life, the Antichrist who is
'death' separates man from fellowship with the eternal life of God to take him to eternal
damnation. After Christ the Life appears to take away His Bride, the perfected saints of the
New Testament, the Antichrist, 'Death' will be cast forever into the lake of fire, which is the
second death, at the end of the Tribulation Period.
Accepting the truth, let us become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. As
otherwise, we would have to face eternal punishment along with the devil, the author of death
and with the Antichrist, in eternal hell, which is the second death.

15
CHRIST : The One Who came down from heaven (Jn. 3:13 ; 6:51).
ANTICHRIST: The one who rises up out of the sea and from the bottomless pit
(Rev. 13:1 ; 11:7; 17:8).
Christ referred to Himself as 'He that came down from heaven, the Son of man which
is in heaven'. He had been the only begotten Son in the bosom of the Father (Jn.1:18). He was
by Him as One brought up with Him and was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him
(Prov.8:30). In His prayer to the Father, Jesus mentions glory, unity and perfect harmony
with the Father, and love, as some of the things He enjoyed in heaven (Jn.17:5,22,26). He
was also the worthy recipient of the praises and honour showered on Him by the angelic host.
Jesus had not only been with God the Father, enjoying all the glories of heaven, but
had been in the very form of God and equal with Him (Jn.1:1,2; Phil.2:6). But to make man
who had lost his heavenly life, heir of the kingdom of heaven, He gave up all His privileges
and glory and came to this world, taking upon Himself the form of man. Concerning Himself
He says, "... I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent
me" (Jn.6:38); "I am the living bread which came down from heaven" (vs.51). While in this
world, He spoke only that which He had seen with the Father and heard of Him (Jn.8:26,38);
He did only those things which He had seen His Father do (Jn.5:19). Through all His works
and His conduct, Jesus made it clear that He had come from heaven. Seeing and hearing Jesus
day after day, His disciples were moved to say, "By this we believe that thou camest forth
from God" (Jn.16:30).
Having come to this world as man, He was acquainted with the sufferings and agony
of man, was compassionate and went about doing good. Later, that the will of God
concerning His coming into the world from heaven might be fulfilled, He died a most
humiliating and cruel death, was buried, rose from the dead, was taken to heaven and is now
seated at the right hand of the Father. He has given us the hope that

16
He will come again to gather His perfected Church. By being born again, taking water
baptism and receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit, He makes us sit together with Him in
heavenly places (Eph.2:6). Along with these experiences, those who have attained the
perfection of Christ will be gathered into His kingdom at His coming. "...and so shall we ever
be with the Lord" (I Thess.4:17).
The Antichrist is referred to as the one rising out of the sea and from the bottomless
pit.
Firstly, the Antichrist is referred to as a 'beast' rising up out of the sea. However, he is
only a man (Rev.13:18). "Sea" speaks of multitudes of people: "... The waters which thou
sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and
tongues"(Rev.17:15). From this it is made clear that the Antichrist, the man of sin, is a
political representative, the representative of the wicked.
Secondly, it has been said that the Antichrist is the beast ascending out of the
bottomless pit. Revelation 9:2 says, "And he opened the bottomless pit". From this
bottomless pit will come forth upon this earth a countless number of wicked spirits in the
likeness of locusts. They will be given power to hurt people with their tail. The angel of the
bottomless pit will be their king. He is called "Apollyon" in the Greek tongue (vs.11). This
reveals that the fallen angels dwell as wicked spirits in the bottomless pit and that they will
have power to torment the people on this earth during the Great Tribulation. As the evil
spirits which once worked in the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek and Roman empires will
dwell in the man who is to become the Antichrist, it is said that he is a beast ascending out of
the bottomless pit. "The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the
bottomless pit, and go into perdition" (Rev.17:8). Besides these wicked spirits dwelling in
that man, the dragon that is cast down from heaven will give him his power, his seat and great
authority (Rev.13:2). He will, in this manner, be a man of brutality the world has not
witnessed hitherto, a man of sin and a cruel king.
Christ was taken up to the throne of God. But the Antichrist heads towards
destruction. "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and
goeth into perdition" (Rev.17:11).
In eternity, Christ will rejoice with His Bride. But the Antichrist who is the beast,
concerning whom the inhabitants of this earth marvel, together with all those who are
deceived by him, will have his part eternally in the lake of fire.
16
CHRIST : He Who came down to do the will of the Father (Jn. 6:38)
ANTICHRIST: He who does his own will (Dan. 11:36)
The Lord Jesus said, "... I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the
will of him that sent me" (Jn.6:38). In this verse, the Lord Jesus says that He was sent by the
Father. This implies that He did not come into the world of His own will. Either directly or
indirectly, it has been mentioned about forty-six times in the Gospel according to St.John,
about Jesus being sent by the Father. Moreover, Jesus says that He came to do the will of
Him that sent Him. He came into the world saying, "Lo, I come ... to do thy will, O God"
(Heb.10:7). "... My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work", He
announced to the people (Jn.4:34). As the time drew near for Him to die on the cross, He
surrendered His will completely to the will of the Father and prayed in the garden of
Gethsemane saying, "... not my will, but thine, be done" (Lk.22:42). While on the cross, He
finally said, "It is finished" (Jn.19:30) and gave up the ghost. Thereby, He proved that He
had fully accomplished the work for which the Father had sent Him to the earth (Jn.17:4) and
became a pattern for others to follow. The will of the Father was to bruise Him, as a result of
which 'He saw His seed' (Isa.53:10). That seed is the manchild that shall be caught up to the
throne of God (Rev.12:5), having done the will of the Father perfectly.
Jesus has made it very clear that those who want to enter the kingdom of God, must
necessarily fulfil the will of the Father Who is in heaven. To the multitudes who came to hear
Him, He said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of

17
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven" (Matt.7:21). In Jesus
pointing to the 'will of God' as an aspect of prayer when He taught His disciples how to pray,
we under-stand how indispensable it is for us to know and fulfil the will of God in our day to
day life.
On the contrary, we read in Daniel 11:36, that the Antichrist will be the one "who
shall do according to his own will". He will oppose and exalt himself above all that is called
God (II Thess.2:4). Adam did not surrender his free-will to the will of God, but obeyed the
will of the devil and lost his dominion and all other blessings. The spirit that makes us
strangers to the will of God is the power of death.
The power of death works in those who do their own will. Those who fulfil their own
will, cause harm to themselves and to others. But we should overcome this power by doing
the perfect will of God. By the renewing of our mind everyday, we should endeavour to
prove and know what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Rom.12:2), that at the
end of it all, we might be made worthy to enter the kingdom of God as those who have done
the will of the Father in heaven.

17
CHRIST : He Who came in the name of the Father (Jn. 5:43 ; 7:26)
ANTICHRIST: He who comes in his own name (Jn. 5:43)
"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not" said Jesus to the Jews of His
time. Here when Jesus said that He came in the name of the Father, He meant that He had
come to reveal the Godhead.
Though Jesus was part of the Trinity, He was commissioned by the Father to come to
the earth to fulfil the Father's plan concerning Him. On coming to the earth, He revealed the
Father by honouring Him in everything He did. He did only that which He saw the Father do.
"The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever
he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise", He said (Jn.5:19). No man hath seen the Father
at any time, save the Son. "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which
is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him" (Jn.1:18). Jesus came into the world as
One sent by God, that through Him men might accept God as their Father. That is why Jesus
said, "I and my Father are one", and "he that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (Jn.10:30;
14:9). In His prayer for His disciples, He tells the Father, "I have declared unto them thy
name, and will declare it" (Jn.17:26). One part of the prayer that the Lord Jesus Christ taught
His disciples as an example is, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name"
(Matt.6:9). The word 'hallow' means 'honour' or 'honour as holy'. Jesus never once sought
honour for Himself, but He always sought to reveal the Father. This He did by honouring
Him throughout His ministry on earth. By all these Jesus proved that He came not on His
own, but that He came in the name of the Father Who had sent Him.
But the fact remains that Jesus came to reveal not only the Father, but all the three
Persons of the Godhead which included even Himself.
In revealing the Holy Spirit, He spoke of Him to His disciples as the 'Comforter'
(Jn.16:7) Who would be with them after He was gone. He revealed Him as the Spirit of truth,
as the Guide Who would lead them (vs.13).
When it came to revealing Himself to the world, He revealed Himself by the name
'Jesus' - a name which brings manifold blessings to mankind. In His name is 'salvation' given
to mankind. "Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins", the
angel had told Joseph (Matt.1:21). The experience of salvation from sins in the name of Jesus
leads us to other higher experiences of salvation. We receive healing in His name (Acts 3:16).
The prayers we make in His name are answered (Jn.14:14). There is refuge for us in His
name (Prov.18:10). Isaiah 9:6 gives Him appellations such as Wonderful, Counsellor, the
Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. His name is also Amen (Rev.3:14).
He is also called the Word of God (Rev.19:13).
From the foregoing explanation, it is not only clear that Jesus came not on His own,

18
and that He came in the name of the Father, but also that He came, revealing all the three
Persons of the Trinity.
Since the Antichrist will come in his own name, he will take all greatness, fame,
honour and glory to himself as if there is no one above him to whom all these belong. From
this it is clearly understood that he will come in his own name. He will expect honour and
greatness from others. Some are being deceived by this spirit these days, and are offended
when they fail to receive the honour and greatness they expect of others.
The Antichrist is one who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped, so that as God, he sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is
God (II Thess.2:4). Many shall also be deceived when these things spoken of the Antichrist
come to pass. When the Lord Jesus said, "... if another shall come in his own name, him will
ye receive" (Jn.5:43), He meant that the people will accept and make a covenant with the
Antichrist who will come in his own name, during the Tribulation Period. "And your
covenant with death shall be disannulled" (Isa.28:18). Here death refers to the Antichrist
(Rev.6:8). Death will lead to death and Life to life.
Therefore, we should take heed not to seek honour and praise from men, but the true
honour that comes from God. We must seek to honour God through our life and ministry.
May we accord all praise, honour and glory unto Him for, He alone is worthy of all praise.

18
CHRIST : He Who glorified the Father (Jn. 17:3,4)
ANTICHRIST:He who blasphemes God (Rev. 13:6)
Jesus always drew the attention of the people to the Father. The following
Scriptural portions reveal how He glorified the one true God while He was in the world. Once
a certain ruler came to Jesus and asked him saying, "Good Master, what shall I do to inherit
eternal life?" Jesus said, "Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God"
(Lk.18:18,19). Even concerning His coming to the world He said, "... I proceeded forth and
came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me" (Jn.8:42). In the matter of people
accepting Him, He said, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me
draw him..." (Jn.6:44) and "... no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of
my Father" (vs.65). He revealed that He was not One Who sought His own glory when He
said, "He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that
sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him" (Jn.7:18). "My doctrine is not
mine, but his that sent me"; "... as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things", He also
said (Jn.7:16; 8:28). To the Jews He openly confessed, "... The Son can do nothing of
himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the
Son likewise" (Jn.5:19). Pointing out to the perfection of the Father, He invited people to
emulate the Father: "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect" (Matt.5:48). Thus we see how Christ always glorified God the Father, by His life,
deeds and words.
Though Adam was chosen to glorify God, he failed. Later, the children of Israel were
chosen to glorify God, but they too failed. But Christ, the second Adam, glorified the Father
in all things (Jn.17:4).
It is said that the Antichrist is one who blasphemes God. "And there was given unto
him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to
continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven" (Rev.13: 5,6). "And
he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most
High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time
and times and the dividing of time" (Dan.7:25). "... he ... shall speak marvellous things
against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished : for that that
is determined shall be done" (Dan.11:36). "And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the
seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for

19
pain. And blasphemed the God of heaven ..." (Rev.16:10,11).
Today some among the people of God are in bondage to the spirit of Antichrist,
blaspheming God, speaking evil of dignities, murmuring against leaders, and are doers of
evil. The apostle Jude says, "Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise
dominion, and speak evil of dignities". "But these speak evil of those things which they know
not : but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves".
"These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh
great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage" (vs.8,10,16).
"The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the
wicked" (Prov.10:11). "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a
breach in the spirit" (Prov.15:4).
Just as Jesus has set before us an example, we too should be able to draw people to
God by all that we say and do. We should not reveal ourselves, neither should we take the
glory for ourselves, but manifest the Lord alone in all circumstances and glorify Him only.

19
CHRIST : The Prince, the Messiah (Prince of princes) (Dan. 9:25; 8:25)
ANTICHRIST: The evil prince that shall come (Dan. 9:26; Prov. 28:15)
Our Lord Jesus Christ is called the Messiah, the Prince (the Anointed One) and also
the Prince of princes. At the beginning of His public ministry when He was baptized in water
and prayed, the Holy Spirit came upon Him as a dove and anointed Him for the ministry that
He had to perform thereafter. "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God
was with him" (Acts 10:38). This Prince Who was anointed, was slain on Calvary to deliver
mankind from the lord of sin, curse, sickness and death. It is concerning this that it is said in
Daniel 9:26, that the Messiah shall be cut off. Even today, He delivers those who come to
Him, fills them with the Holy Spirit and makes them princes. During the Millennium He will
reign over this world as the Prince of the many princes who are anointed. "Behold, a King
shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment"(Isa.32:1).
In the prophetical book of Daniel, it is said that the Antichrist is the `prince that shall
come.' After the Bridal Church is caught up, the Antichrist, the prince to come, will profane
the sanctuary during the Great Tribulation Period. Instead of leading the people towards that
which is good, he will lead them towards that which is evil. At the end of the seven-year
Tribulation Period, the war of Armageddon will be fought (Zech.14:1-3), during which he
will stand up against the Prince of princes, but shall be destroyed with the spirit of His mouth
and with the brightness of His coming (Dan.8:25; II Thess.2:8).
Through the anointing, we are now made kings spiritually. In the Millennium,
we will literally reign with Christ as kings. Let us be diligent to preserve this anointing that
we may be found worthy to reign with Jesus, the Prince of princes, even in the eternity to
come.

20
CHRIST :The Prince of peace (Isa. 9:6)
ANTICHRIST: The wicked who takes away peace (Rev. 6:4)
One of the characteristics of the triune God is peace. Concerning God the Father, it is
said that He is the God of peace; of the Son, that He is the Prince of Peace; and of the Holy
Spirit Who is Melchisedec, that He is the King of peace (I Thess.5:23; Isa.9:6; Heb. 7:2). The
triune God created man in peace. The purpose of God was that this peace in man should flow
forth like a river, that all creation might experience it. But according to the verse which says
that "there is no peace to the wicked", the man who sinned lost his peace. He lost his peace
with God, peace with man and other creatures and peace within himself. He also lost divine
traits such as righteousness and joy. Yet, God, Who is unchanging in His character and

20
purpose, began to do His work of reconciling man with God in order to establish His work of
peace in man. To begin with, He ordained sacrifices in the Old Testament times, as a type, of
which the peace offering was one.
Peace that was lost through sin is restored to mankind only through the Lord Jesus
Christ Who came to this world as the Prince of Peace and offered Himself as a sacrifice of
peace. Since He was the Prince of Peace, He never lost His peace while enduring sufferings,
or when going through trials and tempta-tions on this earth. He is our Author of peace. He
made peace by His blood that He shed on the cross, and has given us peace (Col.1:20;
Eph.2:14-17). When we believe in Him and receive Him into our lives, we receive peace in
our hearts, a peace which the world can neither give us nor take away from us. We are
justified freely through grace and have peace with God (Rom.5:1).
When our old man that is prone to losing peace dies and is buried in the experience of
water baptism, we are able to live in peace with all. Thereafter, through the baptism in the
Holy Spirit, the kingdom of God comes into us. This kingdom is one full of righteousness,
peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom.14:17). In this experience, the Holy Spirit, Who is the
King of peace holds sway over our lives and the peace of God reigns in our hearts (Col.3:15).
A great peace fills our hearts as we love and meditate on His Word (Psa.119:165).
When we diligently keep His commandments, peace like a river flows into our hearts
(Isa.48:18). As we learn to trust in the Lord and lean on Him, the Lord keeps us in perfect
peace: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he
trusteth in thee" (Isa.26:3). Those who live in peace and make peace are blessed according to
what Jesus said in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the
children of God".
The Antichrist is one who takes away peace. "And when he had opened the second
seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was
red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they
should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword" (Rev.6:3,4). "For when
they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a
woman with child..." (I Thess.5:3). "The ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly" (Isa.33:7).
There will be no peace to the wicked who join the Antichrist.
"I have brought upon them against the mother of the younger men a spoiler by
noonday" (Jer.15:8) - this spoiler, in a sense, can be said to be the Antichrist. Even today, his
spirit is at work in the world, destroying peace. Killing one another is common among
terrorists. "Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood. ... The way of
peace they know not" (Isa.59:7,8).
The people of this world believe that they can obtain peace through the Antichrist, the
worker of iniquity. But they are actually being deceived and are preparing themselves for
eternal hell-fire where there is no peace. And the Lord will consume the Antichrist with the
spirit of His mouth (Isa.11:4; II Thess.2:8).
When Christ, 'the Prince of Peace' rules this world during the Millennium, man and
all creation can experience peace like a river (Isa. 66:12). There shall be no end to the peace
and increase of the government of the Prince of Peace (Isa.9:7).
Seeing that there are perilous days ahead of us and that the signs around us portend
the imminent return of Jesus, let us be diligent that we may be found of Him in peace,
without spot and blameless, when He appears (II Pet.3:14).

21
CHRIST : The righteous King (Isa. 32:1; Zech. 9:9)
ANTICHRIST: The cruel king (Isa. 19:4 ; Dan. 8:23,24)
"A king shall rule in righteousness" (Isa.32:1). "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion;
shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having
salvation" (Zech.9:9). The thousand-year reign of Christ on this earth with Jerusalem as the
capital city, is the period which we all look forward to. It shall be a righteous government,

21
unknown to the world hitherto. On that day shall the prophecies concerning Christ's reign on
this earth and the words spoken by the angel to virgin Mary in reference to this be literally
fulfilled. And then all creatures will be delivered from the bondage of vanity and will
experience joy and liberty. It will be marvellous to us when the words of the prophet Isaiah,
"Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off"
(Isa.33:17) is soon fulfilled.
On the contrary, the Antichrist will be a cruel lord. Does not history record the
tyrannical rule of cruel lords under whom people have remained as slaves and endured
persecution? One such reign of terror was by Nero, the Roman Emperor. The Syrian king
named Antiochus Epiphanes is a type of the Antichrist to be revealed. This Antichrist is one
who will arise from the United Roman Empire of the days to come. Revelation chapter 13
reveals his cruelty and the political organization of his time. The same beast is referred to as
the scarlet-coloured beast in chapter 17. The people of the world will experience a tyrannical
reign with its repercussions, which they have not experienced since the foundation of the
world. By his subtlety, the Antichrist will take possession of the nations. He will thus take up
the rule in his hands, and
turn fierce at the end.
The world awaits this cruel king. But we await Christ, the righteous King.
Therefore, let us give room for that righteous King to rule in our hearts even now.

22
CHRIST : The humble King (Zech.9:9)
ANTICHRIST: The proud king (Dan.11:36)

Is not humility a divine trait? God created man in humility. He was seen
clothed with humility. But the devil which fell through pride caused Adam to lose that divine
nature. However, saints who heard the voice of God and lived accordingly, received the
perfection of this divine character according to the standard of the age in which they lived. In
order to lead the redeemed Israelites to this experience, God led them through the wilderness
(Deut.8:2). But in later years, they did not seem to be clothed with this character. So Prophet
Jeremiah says, "They are not humbled even unto this day", that is, they had not become
contrite in their hearts (Jer.44:10). Nevertheless, many saints of God among them lived a life
of humility. Though David was a king, he was very humble. He sings, "Surely I have
behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a
weaned child" (Psa.131:2).
Of Christ it is said: "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be
equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" (Phil.2:6-8). In order
that we might obtain divine character traits - the righteousness exceeding that of the Old
Testament, and to be found worthy of New Jerusalem and Zion, Jesus came down to this
world and through His life, revealed humility. He washed the feet of His disciples. Though
He was a Jew, they despised Him as if He were a Samaritan. While the devils bare witness of
Him as "the Son of the Most High God", men called Him a devil. But He was not grieved in
any of these situations. When people reproached Him, as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so He opened not His mouth (Isa.53:7). At times, men spoke highly of Him. They tried to
make Him king, but He hid Himself (Jn.6:15). Thus, whether humiliated or exalted, Christ
always remained humble, revealing Himself a Lamb. Therefore, Christ is seen as the Lamb in
eternal Zion, revealing the depth of humility (Rev.14:1).
One of the important themes of His sermons was humility (Matt.18:4; Lk.14:11;
18:14). He not only preached about it, but also revealed that humility in His life in all
circumstances.
We ought to put on this nature daily, to become the greatest in the kingdom of God

22
(Matt.18:4). Those who see the kingdom of God by being born again, and enter therein by
taking water baptism and by being baptized in the Holy Spirit, must put on the humility of
Christ. May the humble King help such to grow in the grace of God, keep their spiritual life,
and be made ready to be seen at His coming. "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches,
and honour, and life" (Prov.22:4). Therefore, let us be clothed with humility (Col.3:12; I
Pet.5:5).
Christ will be a meek and humble King in the Millennium and in eternity too. The
144,000 saints who will reign in Zion eternally are the ones who have attained perfection in
this virtue too. They are the greatest in the kingdom of God.
Though the Lord Jesus was King, He humbled Himself. On the contrary, the
Antichrist exalts himself. He who exalts himself is proud. We are warned that if we are lifted
up with pride we will fall "into the condemnation of the devil" (I Tim.3:6). Lucifer, son of the
morning, was one who tried to exalt himself (Isa.14:12-14). We find that this spirit of pride is
at work in the fallen man. The spirit of pride worked in certain individuals and in several
nations during the Old Testament times, making them worthy of judgment. Nebuchadnezzar
and Belshazzar could be cited as examples in this instance. We see that Uzziah, the king of
Israel, lifted up himself to his destruction (II Chron. 26:16). In the prophetical books, it has
been mentioned about the pride of the heathen - the pride of Moab, the pride of the
Philistines, and the pride of Edom (Jer.48:29; Zech.9:6; Jer.49:7,16). Thus, the spirit of
Antichrist, that of self-exaltation, has been working through the ages and has come under
God's judgment, as a warning to us.
In the last days, the Antichrist will oppose and exalt himself above all that is called
God, or that is worshipped and show himself as God, and, being seated in the temple, will
deceive people. Finally, in the battle of Armageddon at the end of the Great Tribulation, the
Antichrist will be consumed by the brightness of Christ's visible coming and with the spirit of
His mouth (II Thess.2:4-8; Rev.19:20). "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit
before a fall" (Prov.16:18).
Therefore, let us not exalt ourselves with the spirit of Antichrist which is pride and go
into eternal hell, but let us grow in the humility of King Jesus Who humbled Himself, and be
made His Bride and be exalted to the throne of God.

23
CHRIST : The King Who does not exercise His self-will (I Cor. 15:28)
ANTICHRIST: The king who works according to his desire (Dan. 11:36)
A king should have the knowledge that the Most High reigns over his kingdom and
that therefore, he should do the will of the Most High God. Dominion rightly belongs to God
(Jude25; Psa.145:13; Job25:2). Therefore, a king who is in power, should not rule as his self-
will dictates to him, but remember that God rules in the kingdom of men (Dan.5:21). He
should bring his power under the will of God and rule in all judgment and righteousness.
David prays, "Give the king thy judgments, O God and thy righteousness unto the king's son"
(Psa.72:1). With this revelation, he ruled over his kingdom, subjecting his will to the will of
God. Concerning him God testifies, "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine
own heart, which shall fulfil all my will" (Acts 13:22).
When God created man, he created him as king. Therefore, God told him to have
dominion over all things (Gen.1:26). Dominion had to be according to the will of God. The
angel who fell from the will of God and became a slave to his own will, through his subtlety
caused man also to fall from the will of God, giving room to his self-will. Thus, man who
fulfilled his own desire, lost his dominion. However, Christ, as the King, submitted Himself
wholly to the will of the Father. He was the Lamb foreordained before the foundation of the
world and slain from the foundation of the world. And He continued to do the will of the
Father, even unto His death on the cross. At no point of time in His life on earth, did He give
room to self-will.
Although Jesus will be the King of kings and all things would be subdued unto Him

23
and all His enemies would be brought under His feet, in the eternity to come, He would be
subject to the Father. "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also
himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all" (I
Cor.15:28).
Man who fell from the will of God must receive the experiences of salvation, water
baptism, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the will of God concerning him, and
die to self-will daily that he might be restored to his dominion again. He should totally obey
the perfect will of the Father and being wholly sanctified and perfected, should enter New
Jerusalem and Zion, the kingdom of God (Matt. 7:21; I Thess.4:3 Rom.12:1,2). It is to this
end that Christ remained a King, fulfilling the will of the Father perfectly and is seated on the
throne of God today as an overcomer, being an example to those who follow Him.
Of the Antichrist it is said that he is a king who works according to his desire. He will
fulfil all of his own desire and be led to his destruction. The Book of Revelation chapter 13
speaks about the Antichrist as the beast rising up out of the sea. The mouth of a lion, the feet
of a bear and the body of a leopard seen in this beast represent the kingdoms of Babylon,
Medo-Persia and Greece respectively, and their kings who perished, doing their own will. We
know that the spirit of Antichrist worked in the Babylonian kingdom. King Nebuchadnezzar
failed to understand that the Most High God ruled in his kingdom and that His dominion is an
everlasting dominion. He did not realize that he had to rule in subjection to the divine will.
He was abased, humiliated and driven away from men, till he learnt this truth and praised,
extolled and honoured the King of heaven (Dan.4:34,37).
The Antichrist will be the supreme power, once the dragon gives him his seat, power
and great authority. Excercising this power and authority, he will persecute the people of the
world. His tyrannical rule is explained in the following verses: "And in the latter time of their
kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and
understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty but not by his
own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall
destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to
prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy
many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without
hand" (Dan.8:23-25).
During the Tribulation Period, the Antichrist will work according to his own desire,
causing mankind to receive his number six hundred and sixty-six, and bring religion, politics
and economy under his control. Those who do not receive this number will not be allowed to
buy or sell. All those who dwell on the earth, whose names are not written in the book of life
of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world shall worship him. A group of people
whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life, but have been left behind at the secret
coming of the Lord will refuse to obey the Antichrist and will die as martyrs at his hand. He
will be a dictator and will 'think to change times and laws' (Dan.7:25). Of him it is said that
he will rule the nations in anger (Isa.14:6) but Jesus, the King of kings will destroy him and
none can hinder Him.
Through our being baptized in the Holy Spirit, we are made kings and are given
dominion. Therefore, it is essential that we surrender all our will to God and seek to do His
will alone that we might be found worthy to reign with Him for all eternity.

24
CHRIST: The One Who works by the power of the Holy Spirit (Lk. 4:18; Acts 10:38)
ANTICHRIST: The one who works by the power of the devil (Rev. 13:14)
When God the Father sent Christ into this world, He sent Him
1. as the Anointed One (Prov.8:23),
2. as the Sanctified (Separated) One (Jn.10:36),
3. as the Consecrated One (Lk.9:57,58),
4. as One having authority (Mk.4:41; Lk.4:32,36)

24
5. to suffer (I Pet.2:21).
The Lord Jesus told His disciples, "... as my Father hath sent me, even so send
I you" (Jn. 20:21). Therefore, the New Testament servants of God possessing the above
mentioned five experiences come under the order of Melchisedec and will stand on Mount
Zion in eternity.
The Father anointed the Lord Jesus and sent Him:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel
to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord" (Lk.4:18,19).
"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went
about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him"
(Acts 10:38).
Do we not understand from these verses that while on this earth, the Lord Jesus went
about doing good and delivered those who believed on Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit?
Besides, it is with this same power that the Lord Jesus rose from the dead on the third
day. "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised
up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in
you" (Rom.8:11). Even today, He baptizes those who believe on Him with the Holy Spirit
and preserves them with His strength unto the day of redemption.
During the beginning of the Tribulation Period, the Antichrist, who is the seed of the
serpent will work with diabolic power. "And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard,
and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon
gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were
wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the
beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they
worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"
(Rev.13:2-4).
The Antichrist will kill the saints by this authority of the devil. These are the martyrs
of the Tribulation Period, the remnant of the seed of the woman. It is about them that
Revelation 7:14-17; 15:2 and 20:4 make mention. This will take place in the first three and a
half years of the Tribulation Period. "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan
with all power and signs and lying wonders. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish..." (II Thess.2:9,10). The Antichrist will deceive the people by performing
signs and lying wonders through his subtle power.
There will be persecution for Israel by the Antichrist during the second three and a
half years of the Tribulation Period. Then the Jews will understand that the Antichrist is the
'Wicked one'. At the end of that period, the Lord Jesus will consume him with the spirit of
His mouth, and will destroy him with the brightness of His coming (II Thess.2:8).
During these last days, when the devil is performing signs and lying wonders through
his subtle power to deceive even the very elect of God, let us discern his subtleties by means
of the Holy Spirit and resist him. Being filled with the power of the anointing, let us work for
God and be kept by that power.

25
CHRIST : The Counsellor (Isa. 9:6)
ANTICHRIST: The wicked counsellor (Nah. 1:11,12)
Of the many names given to Christ, one is that He is the Counsellor. It was
necessary that man, who was created in the likeness of God be led by the counsel of the
triune God, be kept in the glory of God and be preserved from falling. Where no counsel is,
the people fall, but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety (Prov.11:14; 15:22; 24:6). "I
will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine
eye", the Lord has said (Psa.32:8). But the first man fell from his first glory because he

25
obeyed the counsel of the wicked one instead of being led by the counsel of God that was
necessary for his preservation. God sent the Lord Jesus, the Counsellor, into this world in
order that man might receive again the blessings and the glory that he had lost by the wicked
counsel of the devil, and live together eternally with the eternal God. Man can be gathered
into glory eternal, only if he is led by the counsel of God. Therefore, Asaph says, "Thou shalt
guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory" (Psa.73:24). Through the
prophet Isaiah, the Lord spoke saying, "And I will restore thy...counsellors as at the
beginning ..." (Isa.1:26). The counsellors referred to here are the triune God, the consecrated
servants of God ordained of Him, and the Word of God (Psa.32:8; Acts 20:27; Isa.9:6;
11:1,2; Jer.3:15; Psa.119:24).
We should obey the counsel of God such as salvation, water baptism, baptism in the
Holy Spirit, life of separation and consecration. We should also receive from Him the counsel
needed for our daily life and be led by it that we may continue in our spiritual life and be kept
from falling.
The Antichrist is the wicked counsellor who imagines evil. Even today, wicked spirits
are at work to lead man to eternal hell-fire, not letting him be obedient to the counsel of the
Counsellor, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who came to deliver man who had fallen from glory
because he had failed to walk according to the counsel of God. That is why it is said that the
god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers (II Cor.4:4). The 'mind' is the seat
of understanding, knowledge, wisdom, counsel, etc. Through the intellect these wicked spirits
prevent man from knowing God and create wrong opinions and so-called counsel of God. It
is said about the Antichrist: "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt
by flatteries..." (Dan.11:32). Like Balaam who defiled the Israelites by his wicked counsel
(Num.31:16), in Christendom today, the spirit of this man of iniquity is enticing and
destroying many through various erroneous doctrines (Rev.2:14). Like Saul who could not
receive the counsel of God, but died as a result of consulting the woman with the familiar
spirit (I Chron.10:13), even today many are being led by the counsel of the Antichrist and are
passing on from death to death. The Antichrist, the wicked counsellor is leading people to
destruction. In the last days, the kings of this world and rulers will work by his counsel. They
will have the same opinion-one mind. That the words of God or that God's purpose might be
fulfilled, God will induce the hearts of the rulers to be of one mind, to hand over their
kingdom to the beast viz., the Antichrist (Rev.17:13,17).
Towards the end of the Tribulation Period, the Antichrist, the wicked counsellor, and
after the White Throne Judgment, all those who are led by his wicked counsel, shall be cast
into eternal fire for eternal damnation. But those led by the counsel of Christ, the Counsellor,
will be gathered up into glory on that glorious day with Christ, the hope of glory. Therefore,
we should take heed not to reject the counsel of God lest we should come to harm.

26
CHRIST : The Holy One (Heb. 7:26)
ANTICHRIST: The man of sin (II Thess. 2:3)
God is holy. He is glorious in holiness (Exo. 15:11). He has said, "ye shall therefore
be holy, for I am holy" (Lev.11:45). A holiness that is higher than that of the Old Testament
times is revealed through Christ in the New Testament times. If we are to enter the Most Holy
Place opened for us in the New Testament, holiness of the highest standard is essential.
In the Old Testament tabernacle we see most holy instruments. Those instruments
that were anointed by the holy oil, some of the ten sacrifices and every devoted thing were
most holy. All these reveal the holiness of Christ,-the holiness to be seen in His saints, which
is the reality. Christ explained the various stages of this holy life in His sermon on the
mount. For instance, in the New Testament, anger amounts to murder and lusting in the heart,
to adultery. In like manner, Christ revealed the standard of the most holy life needed for us to
enter the Most Holy Place and has set an example for us through His life. Therefore, the
Bride says about Him in the Song of Solomon 5:10,16, "My beloved is white and ruddy"; "He

26
is altogether lovely". In Him is no sin (I Jn.3:5). He was declared to be the Son of God with
power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead (Rom.1:4). The
'spirit of holiness' here points to the holiness of His mind. He was pure in His mind and knew
no sin (II Cor.5:21). Christ was pure in body; He did no sin (I Pet.2:22). He lived as a Holy
One. We have an High Priest Who was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin
(Heb.4:15). "For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate
from sinners, and made higher than the heavens" (Heb.7:26). "I have sinned in that I have
betrayed the innocent blood" said Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus (Matt.27:4). Even
Pilate's wife referred to Jesus as "that just man" (vs.19). There are many such testimonies to
prove His holiness.
Let us therefore, daily preserve our body, soul and spirit in holiness and without
blame in order to meet Christ, the holy King, Who is coming very soon. Let us take heed to
be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ (Phil.1:10).
The Antichrist is referred to as the `man of sin'. He is full of sin and is unclean.
Uncleanness is an abomination and it includes idolatry and unclean works. Therefore, God
Who is glorious in holiness called Prophet Ezekiel and said, "Son of man, seest thou what
they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should
go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater
abominations" (Ezek.8:6). Owing to these abominations, the glory of God Who is glorious in
holiness went up from the temple and stood upon the mountain (10:18;11: 22,23).
In the middle of the Tribulation Period, the Antichrist will show himself as God, set
up the 'abomination that makes desolate' in the temple of the Jews and will defile it
(Dan.12:11-margin ; Matt. 24:15). Then will the Jews rise against him. Immediately,
tribulation will begin for the Jews. But "that determined shall be poured upon the desolate"
(Dan.9:27). Not only idolatry, but other evil natures are also abominable. "These six things
doth the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be
swift in running to mischief. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord
among brethren" (Prov.6:16-19). Even today, because these abominable natures work in some
people of God, they defile themselves. Let us hate the abominations which our Lord hates,
sanctify ourselves and make ourselves worthy of the throne of His holiness.
Those who are not caught up at the Lord's coming will be forced to worship the
abominable image of the beast. Those who do not worship it will be killed. So, hating all that
is abominable to God, let us perfect holiness in the fear of God.

27
CHRIST : The Purifier (Mal. 3:1-3)
ANTICHRIST: One who pollutes the sanctuary (Dan. 11:31; II Thess. 2:4).
The Lord Jesus, as One Who is holy, not only saves sinners, but also sanctifies
His Church. While Christ was in the world, we know how He cleansed the temple at
Jerusalem (Matt.21:12,13; Jn.2:13-16). The risen Christ Whom Apostle John saw as One
moving in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, revealed Himself in various ways to the
seven churches, according to the state of each church, in order to cleanse and sanctify them
(Rev.ch.1-3). He also gave them the counsel needed to cleanse themselves and to go on unto
perfection.
Our spirit, soul and body are being sanctified by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ,
by the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit. "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the
people with his own blood, suffered without the gate" (Heb.13:12). "Sanctify them through
thy truth: thy word is truth" (Jn.17:17). "... that the offering up of the Gentiles might be
acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost" (Rom.15:16).
Christ as a Purifier, refines us in the furnace of affliction as silver is refined
(Isa.48:10; Mal.3:2,3). Only those saints who live in the fear of God can surrender themselves
to be cleansed and perfected thereby (II Cor.7:1). Every Spirit-baptized person is individually

27
the temple of God, and through this experience the Church also becomes the temple of God.
The Triune God dwells in and sanctifies every member of the Church. Thereby, the Church is
sanctified as a whole and led to perfection.
During the middle of the Tribulation Period, the Spirit of grace and of supplications
shall be poured upon the 144,000 Jews who are sealed, and they shall look upon Him Whom
they pierced, and mourn for Him (Zech.12:10; Rev.7:4). In that day there shall be a fountain
opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem to remove sin and unclean-
ness (Zech.13:1,2,8,9).
The Antichrist is one who wins people over to his side, through his lying wonders. He
deceives men through unrighteousness and destroys them by his evil nature (II Thess.2:9-12).
Since he is a man of sin, he has nothing but sin, to give to man.
The Antichrist will enter into the literal temple of God at Jerusalem during the middle
of the Tribulation Period and set up the abomination that makes desolate and shall pollute the
sanctuary (Dan. 11:31; II Thess.2:4). History records that a part of this was fulfilled by the
detestable and cruel Antiochus Epiphanes, (a type of the Antichrist), who ruled from 175 BC
to 161 BC. It is recorded that he sacrificed a swine on the altar and profaned it.
We need to be sanctified by Christ, not polluted by the spirit of Antichrist. By the
baptism in the Holy Spirit, God has made us His temple. Therefore, let us love the holiness
which the Lord loves and allow Christ to purify us wholly.

28
CHRIST : The Lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev. 5:5).
ANTICHRIST: The lion that lies in wait (Psa. 10:9; Rev. 13:2)
In the Scriptures, the lion has been compared to aspects, both good and evil.
Certain characteristic traits of the lion can be compared to the attributes of Christ. Let us
consider some of them.
First and foremost, the lion is considered to be the king of the beasts because it is bold
and fearless. Christ is made to us the power of God and the wisdom of God (I Cor.1:24).
Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. To be fearless and bold as a lion, one needs
a good conscience. Those who have such a good conscience are righteous in the sight of God.
"... the righteous are bold as a lion" (Prov.28:1). When we have a good conscience and are
fearless, we can also go boldly to the throne of His grace. But those who have lost their good
conscience will lack strength in the inner man and will allow fear to enter their hearts.
Secondly, the lion speaks of strength. It is said about David that he waxed stronger
and stronger (II Sam.3:1). When we are strengthened by the power of His might in the inner
man, we also can become like the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Moreover, we read that "... he
that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger" (Job 17:9). We, who follow the footsteps
of Christ should go from strength to strength and appear before Him in Zion (Psa.84:7).
Thirdly, the lion speaks of a victorious life. Christ lived as a perfect example of a
victorious life. "... the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed"
(Rev.5:5). Christ did not turn away from His enemies, but prevailed over the world, the flesh
and the devil. Even today, Christ is with His people to save, to heal, to strengthen and to give
the needed power to live an overcoming life. He promises: "To him that overcometh will I
grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father
in his throne" (Rev.3:21).
The Scriptures also throw light on the evil aspects of the lion. The Antichrist is
compared to a beast having seven heads and a mouth like that of a lion (Rev.13:1,2). It is
said about the wicked, "He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch
the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. He croucheth, and
humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones" (Psa.10:9,10). All through this
Psalm, we read about the wicked one who can be prophetically said to be the Antichrist. This
wicked one is proud, his mouth is full of cursing, deceit and fraud, and under his tongue is
mischief and iniquity and he despises the Lord. When Christ the King of kings shall be on

28
His throne, this wicked one shall fall by his own wickedness (Prov. 11:5).
Since the devil has been defeated from the beginning, he does not allow people to
grow in their spiritual life and live a victorious life. He is the cause of all failures. Let us
examine the lives of some of the saints of the Old Testament who fought against lions and
overcame them, that we may learn to conquer the wicked powers that work against us to
destroy our spiritual experiences.
1. Samson was a Nazarite. He was consecrated. When the lion, the mighty one, came
up against him, the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him and he rent it (Judg.14:5,6). A
life of consecration coupled with the power of the anointing helps us to take perfect victory
over those powers which come against our life.
2. David was another man of God who slew a lion that came against his father's sheep
(I Sam.17: 34-36). David who was anointed of God, saved both himself and his sheep. We
should destroy the nature of pride which works to destroy the people of God, and preserve
ourselves and the flock of God. This is possible only by allowing the anointing to work in us
continually.
3. In II Samuel 23:20, we read of how Benaiah slew two lion-like men of Moab and a
lion in the midst of a pit in the time of snow. These lion-like men and the lion are a type of
wicked powers that work against the sons of God, lest they attain the knowledge of God. The
name 'Benaiah' means 'son of God' or 'the under- standing of the Lord'. We, who have
received the Spirit of adoption and live a victorious life, groan within ourselves to attain the
glorious liberty of the sons of God on the day of Christ (Rom.8:19,21,23). "He that
overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son" (Rev.21:7).
For this we need the excellency of the knowledge of Christ which we receive only through
consecration (Phil.3:8). Let us therefore, be consecrated and overcome these wicked powers
by the excellent knowledge of Christ.
4. Daniel was cast into the den of lions that he might be killed, but being found
innocent before God and man, he prevailed against them (Dan.6:22). The devil works in
several ways to destroy our zeal for holiness, life of prayer and chastity. But if we preserve
our holiness and our life of prayer and praise, the enemy will be made our footstool (Dan.1:8;
6:10,16).
Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and
over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Lk.10:19). "Thou
shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under
feet" (Psa.91:13). `Thou' here speaks of a man who dwells in the secret place of the Most
High and abides under the shadow of the Almighty (vs.1). Christ will be formed and made
perfect only in those who live in the strength of the Most High. "... the power of the Highest
shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God" (Lk.1:35). We should be strengthened in the Lord and in the power of
His might (Eph.6:10).
Consecrated servants of God are needed to proclaim the gospel and to minister, so
that people may be delivered, attain the knowledge of the truth and be led towards the
perfection of Christ. But 'lions' lie in wait and try to devour them. "Notwithstanding the Lord
stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that
all the Gentiles might hear : and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion", says Apostle
Paul (II Tim. 4:17). May the Lord who saved Paul from the mouth of such a 'lion', keep His
servants.
The power of the devil, the roaring lion, at work in the Antichrist, strives to devour
the traits of divine character seen in us. The devil is against our faith. Therefore, Peter the
apostle exhorts us to resist the devil being steadfast in the faith (I Pet.5:9). He is against the
righteousness of God. When he works to take away the righteousness of God from us, we
should fight and prevail against this spirit. Only then will we shine as the sun in the kingdom
of heaven.

29
CHRIST : He Who was taken up into heaven (Lk. 24:51)
ANTICHRIST: One who will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 19:20)
Christ came into the world saying, "... Lo, I come ... to do thy will, O God"
(Heb.10:7). Having done the perfect will of the Father on the cross, He said, "It is finished"
(Jn.19:30). He Who was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, was exalted far
above all heavens. "Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of
the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear"
(Acts 2:33). He is now seated on the right hand of God, the Father and is interceding for us as
a High Priest after the order of Melchisedec (Rom.8:34; Heb.6:20). According to His
promise, He is now preparing an eternal habitation for us (Jn.14:2). Millions of souls are
being drawn towards Christ today because He has been taken up into heaven and is alive for
evermore.
After the Tribulation Period, the Lord Jesus shall appear publicly to reign on this
earth for a thousand years. In the eternity to come, He shall reign from Zion, for evermore.
Those who are born in Zion, grow in Zion and are perfected therein, shall reign with Him in
Zion. They shall see the Father's face and serve Him eternally (Rev.22:4).
At the end of the seven years of tribulation, the Antichrist and the false prophet shall
be taken and cast alive into the lake of fire, burning with brimstone. They shall go unto
eternal damnation. "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought
miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast,
and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning
with brimstone" (Rev.19:20).
Christ Who has gone up into heaven, is preparing a place for us. And He is going to
come again to receive us unto Himself, that we may be with Him where He Himself is. Those
who live like the children of the devil, practising and gratifying the lusts of the devil, shall
land up with the Antichrist in the everlasting fire, 'prepared for the devil and his angels'
(Jn.8:44; Matt.25:41). Where are you going to be in the coming eternity? With whom will
you be?

CHRIST : The One Who wields the sceptre of righteousness (Heb. 1:8), being on
the throne of righteousness (Prov. 25:5)
ANTICHRIST: The one who wields the rod of the wicked (Psa. 125:3), being on the
throne of iniquity (Psa. 94:20)
The Lord Jesus Christ is the King of righteousness. His kingdom is one of
righteousness. His throne is of righteousness and His sceptre is the sceptre of righteousness.
In Hebrews 1:8 it is said, "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a sceptre of righteousness
is the sceptre of thy kingdom." The sceptre expresses supreme power. It speaks of authority
and dominion. Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and He reigns from Zion from
where the law goes forth. All powers are being subdued under His sceptre of righteousness.
This sceptre of righteousness is the `rod of strength' which the Lord sends from Zion,
whereby He will subdue all His enemies. Therefore, we read in Psalm 110:2, "The Lord shall
send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies." Therefore,
as mentioned in I Corinthians 15:25 and Psalm 110:1, Jesus must reign, till He has put all
enemies under His feet. By wielding His sceptre of righteousness, the Lord will destroy all
the powers of the wicked that rise up against His throne and His kingdom of righteousness.
Isaiah 14:5 reads, "The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the
rulers." The kings of the earth and the rulers who come up against Him and His people, shall
be broken with a rod of iron (Psa.2:2,9). We, who have received the righteousness of God,
also have this power and authority vested in us, to subdue every evil power working against
our lives and bring them under our feet (Lk.10:19; Rom. 16:20).
The sceptre is also symbolic of kindness and favour. When Queen Esther approached

30
King Ahasuerus against the law of the kingdom, to make petition for her people and save
them from being exterminated, she obtained favour in his sight. The king held out to her his
golden sceptre and Esther drew near and touched the top of the sceptre (Est.5:2). And at her
request, her people were given her. The righteous God holds out His sceptre of righteousness
to His people, that they might have authority and dominion over all the powers of the wicked.
Therefore as the psalmist declares, "The sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre (in another
rendering - 'righteous sceptre') (45:6). At the same time, He extends His kindness and favour
to them, that they might be found worthy to enter His kingdom of righteousness.
Just as the sceptre is one of righteousness, the throne too is of righteousness. The
throne is a symbol of sovereign power and dignity. "Righteousness and judgment are the
habitation of his throne", it is said (Psa.97:2). From His throne of righteousness, judgment is
executed on the wicked. The Word of God says that when the wicked is removed from before
the king, his throne shall be established in righteousness (Prov.25:5). This shall be literally
fulfilled during the Millennium, when the Antichrist would be cast alive into the lake of fire
and Christ shall reign in righteousness on this earth.
Just as the sceptre is significant of kindness and favour, the throne too is established
in mercy. "And in mercy shall the throne be established," we read in Isaiah 16:5. God's throne
of righteousness, symbolizing power, authority and dignity, is also the throne of His grace. So
we can go boldly unto the throne of grace to find help in time of need (Heb.4:16), just as
Queen Esther approached the king and obtained mercy and favour from him at the
appropriate time.
`The rod of the wicked' mentioned in Psalm 125:3 prophetically refers to the rod of
the Antichrist. The power and authority wielded here is destructive. It is aimed at destroying
the soul and body of man. When the Antichrist wields his rod, only violence, cruelty,
suffering and persecution will be rampant. But the Word of God tells us, " ... the rod of the
wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous" (Psa.125:3). Those who are ruled by the
sceptre of righteousness will not be harmed by the rod of the wicked.
The throne of the Antichrist will be a throne of iniquity, unleashing a reign of terror
and cruelty in the world. No trace of mercy or favour will be evident anywhere. The throne of
the king is to be upheld by mercy (Prov.20:28), but the throne of the Antichrist will be one of
vehemence and cruelty. Therefore, it is said that the throne of iniquity can have no fellowship
with the One Who executes righteousness and judgment from His throne. So it has been
questioned, "Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee?" (Psa.94:20).
All those who have yielded themselves to be ruled and governed by the King of
righteousness, who have submitted their lives to the power and authority wielded from the
throne of righteousness and by the sceptre of righteousness, shall gain entrance into that
kingdom of righteousness. Of them, it shall be truly said, "Open ye the gates, that the
righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in" (Isa.26:2); "In thy righteousness shall
they be exalted" (Psa.89:16).

EPILOGUE
The Period of Grace in which we are now living, is fast coming to an end. Signs in
the world and in the Church are pointing to the imminent return of our Lord. The Lord Jesus
is coming to catch away His perfected saints. That day is just round the corner. ‘Yet a little
while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.’ The world and its inhabitants
are going to be mercilessly left behind in the hands of the Antichrist.
Satan has got the stage all set for the coming of the Antichrist. It is but evident that
the many peace-seeking efforts towards a global unification will result in the take-over of the
world-rule by one man, one who will turn out to be the world’s political, military, religious
and economic authority. The Global Village (a system of making all the countries
interdependent) is in the making; army bases are being shut down world-wide so that an
International Military Force can be set up; a strange mixture of Christianity, Eastern religions

31
and Satanism is developing into the World Religion of the end-time (it is called the New Age
Movement); advancements in microchip implants are paving the way for a Global Economic
Authority. There is no doubt at all that the Antichrist’s regime is well on its way.
In this book, we have made an earnest effort to expose the character of the Antichrist,
his wiles and his ways, the nature of his reign, and the plight of those in his clutches. It now
rests with the reader to make a choice between Christ and the Antichrist.
Christ is knocking at the door of your heart today, seeking an entrance into your life.
If you will only let Him in, He will take over your whole life and make ‘something beautiful’
of it. You can become His Bride and reign with Him for ever and ever. But those who turn a
deaf ear to His pleadings will certainly have to meet the Antichrist. Unlike Christ, the
Antichrist is not going to wait for permission to deal with such people. He needs no
invitation – he will simply charge ahead and, having read this book, we have become aware
of the consequences. The threat of the advent of the Antichrist is looming large before us.
Let us not delay in making a decision for good. Let us not become his victims. Even as
Christians, let us really make a whole-hearted and full surrender of our lives to Christ. Let
His work be perfected in us. Let us get ready for the appearing, not of Antichrist, but of
Christ our dear Lord!
