After serving as interim since August, Lee and Janet Dettra’s son Scott has been appointed
Organist and Associate Director of Music of Washington National Cathedral.

Lee Dettra is also retiring from Immanuel Church on the Green in New Castle on April 20.
He has worked as a church musician for 53 years, since age 14. Congratulations, Lee!

David Kelley is playing his first DMA recital at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore on Fri-
day, April 25, at 5:00 p.m. It is a free event, and open to the public. The recital will include music of
Bach, Daquin, Franck, Howells, and Alain.

Much Music from Bayley
George Bayley, a member of the Southern Delaware AGO, has recently published two books. 101
Hymns and Songs of the Celtic Spirit contains traditional texts and music from the UK, along with many new
creations. It includes full keyboard accompaniment and extensive indexes, as well as pages sized for easy
photocopying into church bulletins. The $65 price includes a license for the purchaser to photocopy the entire
contents for use by the choir and congregation. Only one copy needs to be purchased.
The Deerwood Anthem Book is a collection of 40 anthems for choirs, also available for $65 with the
same photocopying terms as above. The book includes anthems by George Bayley, Roo Brown, and Christo-
pher Putnam, plus arrangements of melodies from other sources.
