The Zong Story.

Back in the year 2000, when David Marcus had a full head of black hair, he started the
company Echovox to help large media companies make money through mobile services.
(Think voting for singers on televised singing talent shows, for example.) For the better
part of the decade, Echovox did just that - until one day, David got fed up with long,
painful credit card checkout flows and thought, now wouldn't this be easier if I could just
buy this with my phone? Since Echovox already has hundreds of direct connections with
mobile carriers, why shouldn't that be possible?

A star is born.

A few months later, in 2008, Zong was hatched. David packed up his house and family
and made his way out to Silicon Valley to bring Frictionless Mobile Payments to the

The Brand

2010, with a net addition of over
740,000 subscribers in the period.

Zong Introduce Online Complaints
Managment System

Zong is introduce to register your complaints online by filling a simple


form and telling your problem to Zong Complaint Management Portal. Along with
helpline, Service Centers and email support.

Zong says that customers will be returned calls on resolution of complaints, however,
resolution time is not mentioned at the time of complaint registry.

System doesn’t give you any complaint number, that’s probably due to a fact that
complaint system is being tested as of now.
Complaints Managment System is also asking for username and password, which
means Zong has plans to register its customers for complaint management portal. So let’s
wait to see more on this support system, particularly the login thing, as its necessary to
keep away the spam and un-wanted help seekers.

Zong Turns Mobile Phones Into 'Charge


Cards'
Paying for things with a cellphone number and having carriers bill consumers for the
purchases is common practice in some parts of the world, but in the U.S., credit cards still
rule. Mobile payment company Zong has met with success in facilitating payments for
digital content via mobile phone accounts, and the company's CEO is eager to expand
into larger markets.

That's what led David Marcus, CEO of Zong, to set up a system for subscribers to dial
payments for digital content through their cellphone carriers with a four-digit
authorization pin.

"We remove all the friction," Marcus told the E-Commerce Times. "A purchase
transaction takes 10 seconds to complete."
