Daniel 3

When Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold (66 cubits-not too far from 666), it was
spiritually significant to be the image of the beast. Everyone was gathered together to worship the
image of the beast and only those who refused to worship this image was persecuted. Dan 3:6 “and
whoso falleth not down and worshipeth shall the same HOUR be CAST into the midst of a burning fiery
furnace”. The fiery trial for the 144,000 will be for a short period but intense. With full assurance that
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s God could save them from the fiery trial they were willing to suffer
death even if God let them perish-such was there love and allegiance and loyalty to Him. They didn’t
allow themselves to be thrown into the furnace because they knew they would be saved, but rather
they would rather die than give their worship to another other than God-such fidelity! Those people
who are only willing to go through the trials of the last days if God will save them are lacking a deeper
relationship needed. Those who will make it will have such a love relationship with God that nothing
and no one will be able to separate them-not even love of their lives!

The fiery furnace here represents the glory of God as well as His judgement.

Isaiah 30:26 “Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the llight of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven
days, in the day the the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.”

Psalm 12:6 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

Deut 4:24/Heb 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.”

Isaiah 33:14-16 “…Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He that walketh
righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his
ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; he shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks:
bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.”

Deut 9:3 “Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them,
and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.”

This place that only God’s elect can stand with Jesus is also known as the Sabbath the complete rest of
