Integration using EDI

Electronic Data Interchange or EDI is a globally accepted technology for transfer of business
documents from one application to the other in an automated and secure manner over an
electronic medium.

The information exchange between HP and LSP was based on EDI messages. The EDI messages
will be in ANSI X.12 standard and as per definition of HP.

LSPs use Banyan’s EDI translator software as a service and configure the same for transactions
with HP. HP provided facility to drop and pickup EDI messages on the Internet.

LSPs generate/receive EDI messages automatically from/into its ERP software based on business
transactions. Following diagram explains how EDI exchange takes place.
