Skladatel, multiinstrumentalista a zpěvák Yann Tiersen vstoupil do povědomí mezinárodního

publika především díky filmové hudbě. Tiersenův soundtrack k filmu Amélie z Montmartru se
stal obrovským trhákem nejen ve Francii, skladby patří i u nás mezi velké šlágry. Tiersenova
minimalistická hudba vychází z opakování klíčového motivu, který často střídá dva hlavní
nástroje - akordeon a klavír za doprovodu xylofonu, foukací harmoniky či orchestru.
Tiersenova živá vystoupení se naopak vrací k punk-rockovým kořenům a nepostrádají
energický drive. Na svém koncertě v Arše představí Tiersen se svojí čtyřčlennou kapelou své
poslední studiové album Les Retrouvailles a písně z Amélie v rockovém remixu.

Po studiu klasické hudby a hře na housle a klavír se Tiersen nechal významně ovlivnit energií
a přímočarostí rockových a postpunkových kapel raných 80. let, začíná komponovat hudbu
pro krátkometrážní filmy a později i pro divadelní hry. V roce 1995 vydává své debutové
album La Valse des Monstrem a následují další alba. Pozornost však vzbuzují především
Tiersenova živá vystoupení připomínající performance, kde Tiersen obratně střídá harmoniku,
violu i klavír. Tiersen vytvořil muziku k řadě filmů mj. Alice et Martin (André Téchiné),
Vysněný život andělů (Eric Zonka), Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (Jean-Pierre Jeunet)
či naposledy Good-Bye, Lenin! (Wolfgang Becker). Po albu Les Retrouvailles z roku 2005,
na kterém hostují např. Stuart Staples (Tindersticks), Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins) a Jane
Birkin, vydal na konci minulého roku vydal živé album a DVD nazvané On Tour.
