Without knowing the historical foundation of the human race (mankind), it’s
impossible to properly grasp the dark and graphic nature of warfare and men hating each other enough to
want them dead. Even today, everyone wants Middle Eastern oil and will wage violent and continual wars
in order to possess it. Oil is to the human race the same as blood is to the human body; without it things
will eventually shut down!

Sin and evil were never intended to be a part of our creation process. However, through the fall of man
at the beginning of Creation, sin found its way into those made in God’s image. Thus war, greed, abuse,
addiction, poverty, and an entire host of alien things have become incorporated into the human race. This
is the greatest truth about P.T.S.D. that you’ll never hear from any typical counselor at the VA or therapist
office.

Before we part ways within these pages ( this workbook), I must challenge you with the reality of your
struggle with the cynical “mind games” of post-traumatic stress disorder, and how you can finally
overcome its horrendous onslaught within yourself, your life and your family.

Death and sinfulness were injected into the human race by the disobedience of the first man of
creation, Adam. With that alien nature intravenously flowing in the blood stream off all his descendants
thereafter, the struggle for survival and domination of others grew to paramount proportions. Now,
thousands of years later, with the entire chemical, biological, and electronic advancements dumped right
into the middle of hundreds of diverse cultures and ideologies (especially the fanatical religious ones), the
once primal warfare and struggle for supremacy have developed into pushbutton death and destruction.

Unlike America’s Civil War, when the frontlines took a lunch break in between intense musket fire and
cannons poundings, with one brother waving to his other brother across a field of barley inside the

ix
enemy’s camp, today’s war is faceless and nameless, until everyone returns home: the aftermath or the
post aspect in P.T.S.D.

These wars are struggles to achieve the physical desires of power-hungry madmen wanting “all or
nothing!” However, a freedom-fighting democracy always gets in their way and, toward the climax of such
conflicts, the blame seems to always shift toward the only army in the war that desires for men to be free,
unshackled, and to have the right to pursue happiness and commercial prosperity. Someone’s cookie is
only half-baked it would seem.

The drift from genuine spiritual truth will always, to some degree, ultimately lead to conflict; whether
between families, tribes, or geographical regions, or entire nations. It’s usually the chip on the shoulder
mentality or something petty, yet nations are scarred for life because of it, and the ones that served in the
conflict/war struggle the rest of their days coping with the insanity of why, what if, or, what should I
have done?

"So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection
from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all
belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life."
(I Corinthians 15:21,22: NLT)

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And
because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from
the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us
because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not
do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that
body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice
for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully
satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the
Spirit. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but
those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the
Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the
Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always
hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those
who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you
are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you
have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have

x
the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) " (Romans 8:1-9
NLT)

"That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,

      and no mind has imagined
   what God has prepared
      for those who love him.”

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches
out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s
thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts
except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s
spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell
you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we
speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual
truths.[f] 14 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s
Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who
are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can
evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For

“Who can know the Lord’s thoughts?

Who knows enough to teach him?”

But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ."

(I Corinthians 2:9-16 NLT)

When all the wiring and circuitry is properly aligned within your mind and heart, P.T.S.D. becomes a
circuit breaker of sorts. As one psychologist put it, “It will mess up your happy place.” However, even
with scars on the body and in the mind, understanding and knowledge can do a lot to clarify many
P.T.S.D. related issues we face as we journey through this calloused and high-pressured world. There’s
even fun to be had and joyous moments to establish and remember: that was God’s original intent.
Therefore, it is of vital importance that we understand who we are as a spiritual person. Where does our
spiritual identity come from? Why are we a spiritual being? Is there another, yet greater phase to life after
our journey on Earth as a mortal? You’ve read the right material to help you discover the facts. After all,
isn’t it genuine Truth that makes us free?

If you have received this booklet it’s plain and simple – you were supposed to! Now step into our
world of health and healing and permit us to be a part of your inner circle; we certainly desire to and, the
fact is - WE CAN HELP!

Some of the simplest and most effective methods to overcoming P.T.S.D., as well as other mental
challenges, include keeping your thoughts and focus on optimistic things, planning activities that will
assist you in developing a healthier lifestyle, and being around lighter-hearted people. During times of
anguish, when your thoughts are having a free-for-all emotionally, reach out for some good memory,
some fruitful period from the past. Parents today would tell you to take a time out or count to ten, old
clichés with nuggets of wisdom that do work.

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you
need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace,

xii
which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and
minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final
thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and
lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of
praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—
everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be
with you." (Philippians 4:6/9 NLT)

"And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of
one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message
about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with
all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with
thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. ." (Colossians 3:15/17 NLT)
