 ABSTRACT

Systems plus Computer College (SPCC) built the new building on the year 2009 that

have high-tech facilities. One of the main problems of SPCC is the registration system

that coded all the files in Microsoft Office Excel.

This thesis deals with developing the registration of SPCC. The registrar use

Microsoft Office Excel that all the files of the student coded manually. In that case, the

proponents decided to do a website, “online registration system”. The system is

implemented using a mysql database, dreamweaver, Microsoft Internet Information

Services and a web browser.

In order to develop an online registration and website for SPCC, a process of

registration of SPCC must be studied and understood.

This system will developed where a registrar easily coded all the files of the student

that their will be a room for errors and the student will alike and enjoys seeing their

subject’s and the website of SPCC.

This document will discuss the manually registration system of SPCC to create and

implement an online registration and website for SPCC.

1.1 INTRODUCTON

The rapid growth of technology has contributed a lot to the continued progress

of all classification of industry. However, the education sector today has seemed to

be left behind in adapting the use of different methods to have a progress on their

part. One of the main problems of Systems plus Computer College (SPCC) is their

registration system. It plays a vital role in any school for it is responsible for an

effective and efficient approach for the students. This only means that a poor

management of a registration system could affect the operation of the school. Thus,

to avoid errors in registration, it wills an instant remedy, which is the development

of an Online Registration System.

The current registration system has been in use since 1985 and lacks the

capacity to handle the student and course load projected for year 2011. In addition,

the current system is outdated mainframe technology, which only supports access

through the registrar in the Registration Office.

In this System, not only Online Registration it is also a web site that the

student easily knows the information of SPCC, their student’s subjects,

announcement, and the news update of SPCC. Website is effectiveness of the

interaction of students and to the registrar. The student can use the web site to

increase its standing of SPCC; it's a perfect training ground for the students to learn

and easy to access. The school can upload the information of SPCC which is more

efficient to the students easily readily access the uploaded information to the

website. In is very helpful to the students that they will easily inform just to site

 1.2. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

 How to develop online registration and website for Systems plus Computer College

(SPCC)?

1. How can the students easily registered online?

 There will be guidelines to the students so that they can easily register.

2. How will the students enjoy seeing the website of SPCC?

 The students enjoy by easily know what the updated news every weekend,

announcement, and their subject.

1.3 OVERVIEW THE CURRENT STATE OF TECHNOLOGY

Systems Plus Computer College use manual System like Microsoft Office Excel

that Sir Rommel M. Bamba Jr., the Registrar coded manually. Their current system is

hard to use because the registrar manually code all information and their will be a room

for errors.

1.4. OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

1.4.1. General Objectives

 To develop online registration and website for SPCC that will automatically and

easily to the registrar and to the students.

1.4.2. Specific Objectives

 To easily student registered online by following the guidelines of the website.

  To create a modified registration form to set it up online for better access to

students and registrar alike and enjoy, thus the lessening the work of the

registrar and correct information will stored in the system.

1.5. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

1.5.1. Scope

 The System will enable students registered of all courses online.

 The Students will be having an account to access the system.

 The student’s subjects are viewed in this system.

 The new and old students will access the online registration system.

1.5.2. Limitations

 Students are not capable of paying online it is just a registration system.

 Accounting. Grading system, instructor’s schedule, instructor loading and other

transaction are not allowed in online registration system.

 The transferees and irregular student will not access the online registration

system.

2.1. GATHERING DATA

Interview this is the main source of information in this study. The proponents

conduct to Mr. Rommel Bamba the Registrar of Systems plus Computer College, the

interview it’s all about the process of current system and problems that encountered in

registration system.

Question a set of question were constructed and were given to the respondents for

them to answer. This is used to evaluate the problems concerning to the school especially

to the registrar. The answers gathered were used to analyze it.

The proponents interview to Mr. Rommel Bamba the Registrar to do a program of

an online registration and website of Systems plus Computer College. Sir Bamba asked

that this Website online registration of Systems plus Computer College is very helpful to

that their will be avoiding errors in typing and to lessening the work of the registrar and

to the students.

This System suggests ways to use the Web to the students easily inquire and

experiential learning to the internet. That the news update, announcement, students

subjects are easily know.

2.3.1. Current System

In current system, all work is done manually by typing in Microsoft Office excel

which is hard to operate and hard to the registrar that they will be a room for errors in

typing.

To summarize the manual system process of registration.

1. When the students come to the Systems Plus Computer College.

2. First of all, he/she takes admission from the reception.

3. Fills it and submits to the registrar.

4. In the filled form is first checked the document, if there is any mistake

then it is corrected.

5. Then the candidate pays for the fees deposit.

6. Candidate gets the receipt of fees deposition.

To summarize, the conventional manual system suffers the following problems.

1. Its hard method to communicate between the SPCC students.

2. Inaccurate statistical data gathered from time to time due to its dependent

on the time on which its order.

3. Not all the students fill their data correctly or properly of the Microsoft

Excel files; neither they comply with the predetermined file format.

4. The method of data exchange between the registrars is unsafe, in that

storage might be susceptible corruption at any time.

2.3.2. Proposed System

The key solution providing all the problems mentioned previously to find a unified
way to solve the problem mentioned earlier. These are the following:

 It is automated computerize web base software system.

 It easy to operate.

 Attractive user interfaces.

First, Registrar should find a better way to communicate with SPPC students this only

be achieved by a Website Online Registration System. Since in our year today are

now connected to the internet it easy to make use the system. The system is a Web

Portal it easily know what the announcement, their subjects, and all the information

about SPCC.

2.5. MODEL/SDLC

Spiral development model was developed by Dr. Barry Boehm in 1987 as a risk-

reduction approach to software development. This methodology illustrates the

software development as a spiral with radial distance as a measure of cost or effort,

and angular displacement as a measure of progress. User-friendly designers

frequently use spiral model to maintain the interests of the user by providing

minimum features at the beginning then based on user's creativity and improves the

system.

The advantage of the spiral model is that it emphasizes evaluation of

alternatives using risk analysis, and provides flexibility to the software development

process. This is accomplished by using basic waterfall building blocks and

Evolutionary/Incremental prototyping approaches to complete the software

development.

3.2. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
3.2.1. Context Diagram

Context diagram is an overview of the system that shows its basic input and outputs

of the system. The system under investigation is represented as a single process,

connected to external entities by data flows and resource flows. The context diagram

clearly shows the interfaces between the system under investigation and the external

entities with which it communicates. Therefore, whilst it is often conceptually trivial, a

context diagram serves to focus attention on the system boundary and can help in

clarifying the precise scope of the analysis.

The Online Registration receives details of student information and subjects viewing

and their schedule. The registration will be filling up through online by members of

Systems Plus Computer College who wants to register. Students require their student user

id to access their account given by the registrar. In addition, Online Registration will

easily access and speed up the work of the registrar and students. This system

communications connecting external entities and only includes where they involved in

the system process and the registrar would be able to communicate with the students.

4.1. Summary

Systems plus Computer College (SPCC) built in 1985, one of the main problem of a

SPCC is the registration system where the registrar hardly coding all the files in

Microsoft Office Excel that their will be a room for errors in typing.

Online Registration System is Web-based registration software that helps you to

accept course or event registration online. Online registration software includes features

such as automatic scheduling and easy to access. Also, Online Course Registration

System can be fully customized according to your specifications.

The proponents offer to do an online registration system to become automated and

easily, faster to the work of the registrar and students. In online registration the class

schedule, news update, registration, students subjects those are offered in website online

registration of SPCC. Students secure easily online access to academic and financial

records, course availability and registration. Online registration is open to all students

wants to register. All students will need to visit the spcc2011.byethost7.com and fill up

the automated registration. The payment will not allow to online it should be personal to

the cashier of SPCC. Students enjoy and easily view the websites of the school what’s the

news update and announcement.

The proponents used Adobe Photoshop CS 7, Macro Dream weaver 8, Adobe flash

professional CS3, and Navicat MYSQL to access it in the internet.

4.2. Conclusions

A web base design application, developed, and implemented to become easily and

faster to the students and to the registrar. Student online registration to make it much

easier for the registrar, students might have been given an access to the website wherever

they are. Short messaging services (SMS) this is very important service the system may

include. Briefly, student cell phone numbers are currently stored into the system database

to send news to the students or to the incomplete requirements and probably their result

and the news updates will easily read to the website of SPCC. Moreover, this System is

designed to be enhanced and to become automated the registration of SPCC.

4.3. Recommendations

In order to use the current system of registration of SPCC that you will need to

register which involves completing a brief profile and fill up the form. The proponents

recommended using the website online registration system we strongly encourage you to

register online it is easy to use and faster to the work of the registrar. The priority of

online registration will help to the registrar and to the students to become easily their

work. Their current system is coded manually in Microsoft office Excel all the files of

students that will hardly typing that their will be a room for errors so the proponents

suggests to use the automated system to speed up, accuracy, easy to operate.
