Bülow, Louis. ´Gates to Hell´ Deathcamps.info, 2010. Web. 24 February 2011.

Once out of the ghettos, the Jews were put in concentration camps which eventually ended up
being death camps. The Germans were determined to kill every Jew. In the end, they killed two
out of every three Jews. They would start off shooting a line of Jews into a trench and do that
until the labor was too intensive. They eventually had camps specifically designed for mass
murder. They would fill rooms full of people and gas them to kill them, then burn the bodies and
make a nonstop cycle until every Jew was gone.

I found the website helpful with telling about the death camps but I need more information about
them.

Grobman and Landes. ³Kristallnacht´ Frank.mtsu.edu, 2010. 24 February 2011

Once the Nuremberg Laws were passed and Jews were stripped of their rights, the Nazis started
to become more aggressive. Even Polish Jews were evicted from their own houses and relocated
at relocation camps, which later helped transfer them to death camps. On one night, many Nazi
youths were out destroying Jewish businesses and houses by smashing windows, looting, and
burning them down. The Nazi later wanted to use what happened that night and pin it on the
Jews to help remove them from the German economy.

The article was a great help on what happened to lead to the evacuation of the Jews.

Gutman, Israel. ³Inside a Nazi Death Camp, 1944´ eyewitnesstohistory.com, 2004. Web. 24
February 2011

As mentioned before, death camps were designed for mass murdering of the Jewish population.
The main method of killing was gas chambers. The chambers would be just a concrete box with
one hole in the ceiling. First, hot air would fill the box followed then by cyclone, which are blue
crystals and very toxic. Within ten minutes, everybody would be dead. They would then clear the
bodies and do it all over again.

The website helped me clarify what happened in the gas chambers and other methods of killing.

Gutman, Israel. ³The Wannsee Conference´. Holocaust-history.org, 2004. 24 February 2011

The Wannsee Conference was called in order to carry out the final solution. Reinhard Heydrich
called 14 members of the government and military branches to explain and give orders to the
final solution, which is to kill all the Jews.

This website helped me more specifically on who was a part of the conference but I will need to
do more research about it

Gutman, Israel. ³Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust´. Yadvashem.org, 2004. Web. 24
February 2011

Something less heard about during the holocaust is the rebellions of the Jews. While being
detained, the Jews have rebelled and tried to take over the SS officers in hopes of taking over the
power and then escaping. They never fully carried out as planned. They killed many guards but
never managed to overtake the entire fleet of officers.

The article gave me respect for the Jews for not just going quietly, that they Jews tried and
fought in organized chaos in attempt to escape.

Lisciotto, Carmelo. ³The Wannsee Conference´. holocaustresearchproject.org, 2007. Web.

24 February 2011

The Wannsee conference was held with 15 high ranking Nazi and German government leaders.
The discussion was very simple, to come up with a plan to exterminate the Jews. Reinhard
Heydrich opened the meeting and gave many powers to the higher ranked officials at the
conference, powers which could control anti Jewish measure. It was never mentioned to actually
kill the Jews, but shortly after the conference the first gas chambers started being put in. From
there it was all downhill for the Jews. Until the liberation of the camps, the Nazis would start
mass murdering every Jew they could.

This article helped better understand what happened at the conference.

³The Nuremberg Race Laws´ Historyplace.com, 2010. Web. 24 February 2011

The Nuremberg Laws stripped Jews of their citizenship and turned them into objects instead of
people. Also, the laws required people to have a medical examination and, if found disease free,
could a certificate to get married. Shortly after the laws were announced, there was a debate on
how to figure if a person is ³fully Jewish´ which Germans made charts for all to know what
category they fell into.

This website helped me understand just how Germans viewed Jews.

³Ghettos´. Ushmm.org, 2010. Web. 24 February 2011.

When the Jews were evicted, they were moved into ghettos. The ghettos were mainly enclosed
and the living conditions were awful. The kept the Jews contained so they would be out of the
non Jewish community while separating the Jews from each other. There were over one-
thousand ghettos to contain the Jews until they were moved to concentration and death camps.

The article helped me better understand about the ghettos along with how they were.

³Hidden Children and the Holocaust´. Jewishvirtuallibrary.org, 2011. Web. 24 February 2011.

While the extermination of the Jews was happening, many Jewish children were able to hide
based on their size. They hid in hiding spots in the floor, attics, and sellers along with many other
places one could hide. They were to not move for hours. They could not make one sound or
cause any attention to them. Once they were able to be free, the children had to disguise
themselves to not look like Jewish boys. Some even resorts to make himself look like a girl, and
even circumcision.

The article really opened my eyes to what Jews did to escape being captured by the Nazis.

³Intro to the Holocaust´ Ushmm.org, 2010. Web. 24 February 2011.

The Holocaust was the murdering of six million Jews with the belief that the Jews were racially
inferior to the Germans. Not only did they capture Jews, but also the Germans captured all other
races they felt were inferior to them. The original goal was to remove the Jews from society and
put them in camps to detain them. Following the outbreak of world war two, Nazis started to kill
Jews in attempt to exterminate them. Towards the end of the holocaust, the Germans were mass
murdering Jews and having others dispose of the bodies just so those same Jews could be next to
kill.

This article was very helpful towards my research on the Holocaust.

³Liberation of Nazi Camps´. Ushmm.org, 2010. Web. 24 February 2011.

At the end of World War II, the Liberation of all the camps started. The Jews were being
evacuated and put into shelters until further placement could be arranged. While the liberation of
camps started happening, Germans started to destroy the camps by demolishing or burning of the
place in hopes of getting rid of the evidence of what they are doing.

³What Happened to the Jews After the Holocaust?´ Holocaust-history.org, 1998. 24 February
2011

After the liberation of the camps, Jews were finally able to return home. Upon arrival, they
would find that many countries would not allow the survivors to enter, and the ones who were
able to go back to their homes found out that their homes have been taken by other Germans.
Others waited in hopes of their family returning, which mostly didn¶t happen. A majority of the
Jews moved to the United States and Israel to try and start their lives over.
