Performance appraisal is the process of obtaining, analyzing and recording information about the
relative worth of an employee. The focus of the performance appraisal is measuring and
improving the actual performance of the employee and also the future potential of the employee.
Its aim is to measure what an employee does!

The study is concerned about studying the format followed in Avanti Overseas Pvt. lmt. While
rewarding their employees according to their performances.

˜Y To analyse whether these techniques are beneficial enough to motivate
employees.

The system of collecting data for research projects is known as research methodology. The data
may be collected for either theoretical or practical research for example management research
may be strategically conceptualized along with operational planning methods and change
management!

The sample size is very simply the size of the sample. The sample size of this study is the
organization employees who will help me to analyse to know the techniques used in their firm n
how effective are these techniques acc to their view.

The research design is a plan of action indicating the specific steps that are necessary to provide
answers to those questions, test the hypotheses, and thereby achieve the research purpose that
helps choose among the decision alternatives to solve the management problem or capitalize on
the market opportunity.

Basically there are two types of researches followed one is descriptive n another is exploratory
research. This study is based on both the research patterns as employees will helped me in
providing data in future through questionnaires and theories of performance appraisal are also
taken from some books and internet and contains primary data.

There are some advantages of this study some of them may be:

˜Y This study may help me to analyse the techniques used by this firm while giving
appraisals to its employees.
˜Y This study may help me to analyse whether these techniques motivates or not.
˜Y This study may to throw light on the effectiveness of performance appraisal
techniques.

˜Y This study may not get completed if I don¶t get the true data and study goes all
wrong.
