Before using your new Analog Multimeter, please read this

instruction manual to prevent any damage. Put them away

in a safe place for future references.

This new multimeter has been designed to measure DC and AC
voltage, DC current, resistance (Ω), 1,5V battery test (AA/AAA),
and includes a fuse to protect the multimeter.

CAUTION
Follow all the operating and security instructions in order to use
the multimeter safe and correct.

ADVICES TO USE THE MULTIMETER

When you use this multimeter pay attention to the polarity.
Connect the red tip to the positive jack, the black tip connect to
the negative jack.
If you don’t know the voltage and current when you are
measuring, first use the higher range, and step by step, diminish
the value until you can see the correct value.
For accurate readings, search the scale from the point where
the arrow is aligned with the extreme scale, in order to avoid a
mistake.

CALIBRATION
To set the ohm range to zero, firs locate the central button (looks
like a screw), then use a screwdriver and put the arrow from the
panel to zero (in the left side), then insert the black and red tips,
put them together and in the scale of Rx10 you will see that the
arrow will move to the left side. Use the knob to set to zero.

OPERATION
CAUTION
The maximum input for current and voltage measuring are
500VAC, 500VDC and 250mA DC

MEASURING DC / AC VOLTAGE

If you are measuring a high-voltage, do not touch the testing

points.

1.- Connect the testing point to the right jacks (black “-“ and red
“+”).
2.- Set the dial to the VDC setting or VAC setting in accord to the
required voltage measure. If you are not sure about the voltage
level, set in 500V range.
3.- Connect the testing points to the equipment to be measured.
Make sure about the polarity.

MEASURING DC CURRENT

CAUTION:
Do not apply voltage to the testing points while the switch is
under current range.

1.- Connect the testing point to the right jacks.

2.- If you are not sure about the voltage level, set in 250mA
range.
3.- Open the circuit, then connect the black point to the negative
point of the circuit and the red to the positive point.
4.- Apply voltage to the circuit under measure and read the scale
VmA.

MEASURING RESISTANCE
Install a “AA” battery to measure the resistance.

CAUTION:
Do not apply voltage to the testing points while the switch is
under ohm range.
1.- Connect the testing point to the right jacks.
2.- Set the dial to the Ohm range (R X10 ó R X 1KOhm). Put the
testing points together and set the screw to place the measure
arrow to zero in the green side of the Ohm scale.

3.- Do the measure.
4.- Read the value of the resistance in the green Ohm scale.

If you cannot set the arrow to zero, you must change the
battery.

MEASURING DECIBELS (dB)

1.- Connect the testing point to the right jacks.

2.- Set the dial to the 10v range and read the dB scale.

To obtain an accurate measure of dB, the impedance of the

circuit must be 600 Ω

REPLACING THE FUSE

Caution:
To avoid electrical shocks, unplug the testing points before to
change the fuse. Only use a 0,5A/250V fuse, in order to avoid
damages to the circuit.

1.- Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the back cover.
2.- Replace the fuse with a new one (0,5A, 250V).
3.- Do not touch any other area out of the fuse case.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY

For measuring resistance it is necessary to use a battery.
To install it, use a screwdriver to remove the cover.
Then place a AA battery into the compartment, pay attention to
polarity.
Never leave old batteries inside of the multimeter. Remove them
if you won’t use the multimeter for a long period of time.

TESTING A BATTERY
1.- Connect the testing point to the right jacks.
2.- Set the dial to the BATT 1,5V range.
3.- Read the value in the screen.

PRECAUCIONES
Siga todas las instrucciones de operación y seguridad para
garantizar que éste multímetro sea usado confiablemente y
mantenido en condiciones óptimas.

TIPS PARA USAR TU MULTIMETRO

Cuando use éste multímetro preste particular atención para
checar la polaridad, si es negativa o positiva. La punta roja se
conecta al positivo (+), y la punta negra se coloca en el negativo
(-).
Si ha estado checando sin conocer el voltaje y corriente, use
primero el rango más alto, después el menor a éste y así hasta
que se pueda leer el valor que se desea obtener.
Para lecturas exactas, busca la escala desde el punto donde
la manecilla esté alineada con la escala extrema para evitar un
error.

CALIBRACION
Para ajustar la escala de ohms a cero primero localice el botón
central tipo cabeza de tornillo plano y con un desarmador trate

de poner la aguja del panel a cero del lado izquierdo,
posteriormente como lo es en el caso de ohms, hay una perilla
de lado izquierdo lateral, inserte las puntas negro con (-) y rojo
con (+), junte las puntas de los banana y en la escala Rx10
notará que la aguja se va al extremo derecho por medio de la
perilla izquierda lateral usted podrá ajustar a cero del lado
derecho en la primer escala superior correspondiente a ohms
(Ω).

OPERACION
PRECAUCION:
La entrada máxima para la medición de voltajes y corriente es
de 500 VCA (~), 500 VCD y 250 mA CD

MEDICION DE VOLTAJE CD/CA

Tenga extremo cuidado cuando realice mediciones para alto
voltaje, no toque las terminales.

1. Conecte las puntas de prueba dentro de los jacks correctos

(negro “-” y rojo “+”)
2. Coloque el selector de rangos en las siguientes posiciones:
VCD / VCA(~) de acuerdo a la medición de voltaje que usted
requiera, si no esta seguro a cerca del nivel de voltaje, comience
en 500V
3. Coloque las puntas de prueba al circuito a prueba,
asegurándose de observar la polaridad correcta según sea el
caso.

MEDICION DE CORRIENTE CD

PRECAUCION:
No aplique voltaje a las terminales mientras el switch selector
esté en la posición corriente.
1. Conecte las puntas de prueba correctamente en los jacks
2. Si no esta seguro del nivel de corriente, empiece con el rango
250mA.
3. Abra el circuito, en el cual podrá medir la corriente y conectar
la punta negra al lado negativo y la roja al positivo del circuito.
4. Aplique voltaje al circuito bajo prueba y lectura en la escala V
mA.

MEDICION DE RESISTENCIA
Instale una batería “AA” para medir la resistencia.

PRECAUCION:
No aplique voltaje a las terminales mientras el switch selector
esté en la posición Ohms.

1. Conecte las puntas de prueba en “-” y las entradas “+” y “-”.

2. Coloque el switch selector de rangos en la posición Ohms
(R X10 ó R X 1KOhm), coloque las puntas de prueba juntas y
ajuste el tornillo de ajuste para traer la manecilla hacia el punto
“0” en la parte verde de la escala Ohms.
3. Ahora podrá hacer la prueba normal, ya estando ajustado
éste switch selector.
4. Lea el valor de la resistencia en la escala verde de Ohms.

Cuando no pueda ajustar la manecilla punto “0” en la escala

de Ohms, la batería debe ser reemplazada.

MEDICION DE DECIBELES (dB)

1. Conecte las puntas de prueba correctamente en los jacks.
2. Coloque el selector de rangos en 10 V(~) y lea directamente
en la escala dB.

Para asegurar una medición en dB la impedancia del

circuito deberá ser 600 Ω

REEMPLAZO DE FUSIBLE
Precaución: Para evitar choques eléctricos, desconecte las
terminales de medición antes de mover el fusible. Para continuar
con la protección contra daños al circuito sólo utilice un fusible
de 0,5A/250V.

1. Use un desarmador para quitar los tornillos en la cubierta

trasera del gabinete.
2. Reemplace el fusible con un nuevo fusible, del mismo tipo
(0,5A, 250V).
3. No toque alguna otra área que no sea el fusible.

INSTALACION DE BATERIA
Una pila es requerida para la medición de resistencia.
Para instalar, use un desarmador para retirar la cubierta del
gabinete.

Inserte la pila “AA” en el compartimiento de la batería,
observando la polaridad correcta.
Nunca deje una pila vieja en su aparato. Retire la batería
cuando no vaya ha usar su aparato por más de una semana.

PROBADOR DE BATERIA
1. Conecte las puntas de prueba correctamente en los jacks.
2. Coloque el selector de rangos en BATT 1,5 V
3. La lectura la encontrará en el panel indicándole si esta en
buenas condiciones o tendrá que desecharla.

This Steren product is warranted under normal usage agains defects in workman-
ship and materials to the original purchaser for one year from the dat of purchase.

CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or purchase ticket,
product box or package, and product, must be presented when
warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was
received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accesories to costumer, as well
as warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.

THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:

If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leajy
batteries, failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized
personnel, improper safe keeping, among others.

a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or pur-
chase ticket.

Esta póliza garantiza el producto por el término de un año en todas sus partes y
mano de obra, contra cualquier defecto de fabricación y funcionamiento, a partir de
la fecha de entrega.

CONDICIONES
1.- Para hacer efectiva la garantía, presente ésta póliza y el producto, en donde fue
adquirido o en Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
2.- Electrónica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto en caso
de estar defectuoso sin ningún cargo al consumidor. Los gastos de transportación
serán cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparación en ningún caso será mayor a 30 días, contados a partir
de la recepción del producto en cualquiera de los sitios donde pueda hacerse
efectiva la garantía.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios,
así como hacer válida esta garantía es en cualquiera de las direcciones menciona-
das posteriormente.

ESTA PÓLIZA NO SE HARA EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:

1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no autorizado por
Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.

El consumidor podrá solicitar que se haga efectiva la garantía ante la propia casa
comercial donde adquirió el producto. Si la presente garantía se extraviara, el con-
sumidor puede recurrir a su proveedor para que le expida otra póliza de garantía,
previa presentación de la nota de compra o factura respectiva.
