Why Come to Singapore?
! Singapore you can have as much fun as going to an
amusement park. Singapore was once one of the biggest
trading routes of the entire world. Even before,
Singapore was still busy with different races of people all
over the world with big ships full of different kinds of
spices; Even before Singapore was as busy as a colony of
ants. Today people come to Singapore to relax, learn, get
a job or eat. The population of Singapore is 4,987,600.
The major nationalities that represent Singapore are
Malaysian, Chinese and Indian. Even though those three nationalities represent Singapore, lots of
different nationalities live in Singapore. Did you know that Orchard Road used to be an avenue that was
about a kilometer with not much traffic and plantations of nutmeg, fruit and pepper plantations beside
the road? Now Orchard road is the central business district in Singapore city and has some of Singapore
city’s biggest malls with lots of shining colorful lights but there are no horse drawn carriages or bullock
carts in sight. You can have a lot of fun in Singapore.

These pictures show how people have changed the landscape of Bangkok. Before, in the year 1921, Bangkok was a
medium sized city constituting the capital of Thailand. There were not many buildings, and the tallest one had 9
floors. Then, around the year 1955, humans changed the landscape by installing hundreds of high-rises and skyscrap-
ers, mostly as office buildings. The population boomed and Bangkok extended to the outskirts in a vast suburban
sprawl. They did this because trade and commerce was giving the city a large amount of money, so skyscrapers re-
serve space. Today, because of this change, the city of Bangkok is now a vast metropolitan area and is a
heavyweight in today’s tourism and commerce industry.
