FAISALABAD Feb 08: Asian Development Bank (ADB) sanctioned another load of Rs.2318 million for the improvement and up-gradation of grids and distribution system of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) said, Tariq Mehmood Chattha Chief Executive Officer FESCO. Addressing a high level meeting at FESCO Headquarters here Tuesday. He said that this amount would be spent on up-gradation of four grids in addition to the expansion of 6 grid stations. It would increase load of 719 MVA in addition to strengthening the entire grids and distribution system. Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf Chief Engineer Development briefed the participants of the meeting about the progress of on going projects under taken by first ABD tranch of 23.29 million dollar. He said that work is in progress for the up-gradation of 6 important grid stations including 132-KV Old thermal, Chiniot Road, Samundari road, Narwala road, factory area and Ludewala grid stations. Power transformers of double capacity are being installed in these grid stations. Similarly, 132-KV Kudluthi, Jhang-II, Gojra, Wan Bachran, Haveli Bahadr Shah, Lalian and Sardar Pur Noon are also being expanded. This work would be completed by December 2011, after which the work for up-gradation and expansion of another 20 grids would be under taken with this sanctioned loan. Adnan Tareen Project Director, ADB for Pakistan expressed satisfaction over the pace of work in FESCO and said that ADB would continue to support FESCO in up-gradation its grids and distribution network. The meeting was also attended by Ijaz of ADB, Chief Engineer PEPCO Rai Khalid, Finance Director Izhar-ul-Haq, Manager GSC Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, Manager Development Munir Sultan, Manager Coordination Tariq Mehmood, Deputy Manager Development Amir Mehmood and Deputy Manager PR Tahir Sheikh. FESCO PRESS RELEASE-18-01-2011 FAISALABAD Jan 18: Operation staff has been directed to further gear-up its efforts to minimize line loses in addition to ensuring maximum recoveries said, Tairq Mehmood Chattha Chief Executive Officer> Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). He was chairing a high level review meeting at FESCO headquarters here Tuesday. He said that our prime objective should be to facilitate the consumers and in this connection each and every staff member should make collective and sincere efforts. He warned that over billing would not be tolerated and any person found involved in this practice would be kicked out of the company after following the set procedure. He also underlined the need to bring about a positive change in the attitude of FESCO employees, so that best services could be provided to the consumers. He also directed to expedite the recovery campaign. Notices should be served to all defaulters from public as well as private sector before disconnecting their connection. He asked Manager Operations to give viable purposals to bring back the disconnected connection holders into FESCO network. Director Customer Services will supervise this process, he added. He also directed to hire the services of Tehsildar Recovery of District Administration to ensure the recoveries from dead defaulters, in this connection incentive would also be offered as per law. Chief Executive took serious notice of the delay in sanctioning new connections and directed to explain its causes without any further delay. He was further briefed that 48 thousand domestic, commercial, tube well and other connections have been installed. The Chief Executive directed to provide new connections on priority basis. He also stressed the need for the promotion of safety culture and said that FESCO was spending millions of rupees every year for the safety of its employees. Operation staff should take proper safety measure in addition to using the T&P. FESCO PRESS RELEASE-17-01-2011 FAISALABAD Jan 17: Written test for the posts of Assistant Sub Station Attendant (ASSA) will be held at FESCO Headquarters here on January 18.A spokesman of the FESCO said that objections against the applicants have been removed while call letters to the eligible candidates have been issued. He has also directed the candidates to bring their original call letter, National Identity Card and other documents to appear in the written tests.He said that interview for these posts will be held on February 4.Meanwhile road test and interview for the recruitment of drivers will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. The employees of Jhang circle have expressed satisfaction over the installation of x-ray machine and establishment of laboratory FESCO PRESS RELEASE-06-10-2010 FAISALABAD January 06: Five years 7th (Sub Transmission and Grid Station) STG plan has been prepared to constructed 24 new grid stations and up-gradation of 22 grid stations of 66-KVA to 132-KVA, disclosed by Chief Executive Officer Tariq Mehmood Chattha.Chairing a high level meeting at FESCO Headquarters here today he said that this plan would be presented to Executive Committee for National Economic Council (ECNEC) after its final approval. He said that this plan would ensure quality services to the electricity consumers in this region. Chief Executive expressed concern over the delay in the completion of 6th STG and said that a formal request would be made to complete the pending works up to 2012. He also orders to constitute an investigation team to identify the causes of delay. This team would be constant of Chief Engineer T&G Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf and Manager Operation Jhang Circle Tofiq Akbar Azad.Continuing Tariq Mehmood Chattha said that demand of electricity was increasing at much faster pace, hence we must expand transmission and distribution system of FESCO. He said that 7th (STG) plan has been prepared to cater to the future need of existing and emerging load centers.He said that new grids would be constructed to give relief to the over loaded grids and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the existing and new industrial, agriculture and domestic consumers.Briefing the meeting Tariq Mehmood Manager (Planning Scheduling and Coordination) said that 7th STG program has been prepared in line with the maps of 11-KV single line diagram prepared by survey of Pakistan. This program would also cater the future needs of electricity. The 24 most demanding grids stations have been proposed at132-KV Ludian Wala Jaranwala, 132-KV SPS Canal Road, 132-KV Usman Ghani, 132-KV Aminpur Road, 132-KV Mamoon Kanjan, 132-KV Chenab Nagar, 132-KV Chiniot-II, 132-KV Rajana, 132-KV New Sabzi Mandi and 132-KV Bhera and others are included. These grid stations would give much needed relief to the exiting 30 over loaded grids.Chief Executive Tariq Mehmood Chattha also ordered to include 22 grid stations of 66-KV into 7th STG plan for their up-gradation into 132-KV grids. He also directed for the complete computerization of Project Management and asked to present a case for the provision of a crane and trailer to GSC directorate. November, 05: Lists of eligible candidates for the posts of Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and Sub Station Operator-II (SSO-II) have been re-displayed at Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Head Quarter. According to FESCO, a recruitment notice was published asking candidates to submit their applications up to November 2, 2008 and later this date was extended up to March 15, 2009. In the light of the decisions of Lahore High Court (LHC) dated October 18, 2010 and October 21, 2010, FESCO was directed to re-display the lists of short-listed candidates for UDC and SSO-II including the candidates who had applied for direct appointment and under employee’s son quota. This list has also been uploaded on FESCO Website: www.fesco.com.pk. This list of short-listed candidates has been prepared in the light of the decision of LHC, giving maximum percentage to the basic educational qualification. In this connection applicants have been directed to submit objections (if any) to Director General FESCO positively up to November 12, 2010. Objections received after this date would not be entertained. Meanwhile the written test for UDC will be held on November 26, 2010 followed by written test for SSO-II on November 29, 2010 at Faisalabad. Call letters have been issued to the short-listed candidates for November 12, 2010. FESCO has also clarified that only those candidates have been included in this list who had submitted their applications up to March 15, 2009. No new application would be entertained, he added.
