O discurso de Roosevelt se passa durante a grande

depressão, em que o páis todo estava passando por grandes
dificuldades econômicas, portanto o discurso será
ambientado com esse problema, cheio de promessas que
trariam de volta o poder econômico dos americanos, o
chamado “New Deal”, seria um novo plano de governo criado
para justamente recuperar a economia e melhorar a
sociedade. Essa seria a primeira eleição nos E.U.A desde 1876,
em que o candidato obteve a maioria do voto popular.
Roosevelt quebrou a tradição aceitando formalmente a
indicação e pessoalmente na convenção.
Roosevelt em seu discurso prometeu “abolir escritórios
inúteis” e “eliminar funções desnecessárias do governo“, disse
que o governo federal, estadual e local custavam muito caro
e ainda prometeu ajudar a facilitar a “restauração do
comécio do mundo”, em seu discurso assistido por por cerca
de 13 milhões de pessoas desempregadas, conquistou
facilmente todas elas com suas processas, tanto que seria
eleito mais 4 vezes, ficando no cargo durante 12 anos,
garantindo que bancos não quebrariam e criando empregos.

Roosevelt's speech takes place during the Great Depression,

when the whole country was going through great economic
difficulties, so the speech will be set with this problem, full of
promises that would bring back the economic power of the
Americans, the so-called “New Deal ”, would be a new
government plan created to recover the economy and
improve society. This would be the first U.S. election since
1876, in which the candidate won a majority of the popular
vote. Roosevelt broke the tradition by formally accepting the
nomination and personally at the convention.
Roosevelt in his speech promised to "abolish useless offices"
and "eliminate unnecessary government functions", said that
the federal, state and local government were very expensive
and also promised to help facilitate the "restoration of world
trade" in his assisted speech for about 13 million
unemployed people, he easily won all of them with his
lawsuits, so much that he would be elected 4 more times,
staying in office for 12 years, ensuring that banks would not
break down and creating jobs.
