A note to you:
Camp season is near again. We are again looking for staff: young people who will work at the camp in June
and July. If you know of someone, please have them call the office and get an application.
Reminder: Spring Semi-Annual Meeting
On April 11, we will hold Spring Semi-Annual Meeting at Friendship Baptist in Irvine, KY. At this meeting the
churches will send messengers elected by the church. There can be five to twelve messengers according to the
resident membership totals of the church. Please try to come and participate. Bro. Gary Willoughby of
Powell’s Valley Baptist Church will deliver the sermon and Joy Bolton, Executive Director/Treasurer of the
Kentucky WMU will also speak.
In Business: we will vote on new officers and committees for 2011-2012, the revised associational constitution
and bylaws, and budget for 2011-2012.
Reminder: VBS Clinic
The Association VBS Clinic will be held April 19 at 7PM at Kiddville Baptist Church, Winchester.
Reminder: Area Hymn Sings
Spring hymn sings will be here before the next Tidings. I hope your choir will participate. Mt. Sterling Hymn
Sing is April 25 at Macedonia Baptist. Irvine Hymn Sing is April 26 at Calvary Baptist. Winchester Hymn Sing
is April 28 at Allansville Baptist.
Food for Thought:
With everything happening in the world, it’s hard to find anything to be cheerful about. But remember God is
still on the throne. Jesus described very similar things happening in today’s world in Matthew 24. That lets us
know regardless of how bleak the world situation looks, God is still in control and we as Christians have better
days ahead.
Dr. A. W. Tozer wrote:
“ When will men and women realize that when God calls us out He is completely faithful to call us into
something better? In his faith, Abraham was against idolatry and idol-making, but that was not his crusade.
Because of his faith, God led him into a promised land, into possessions and into the lineage that brought forth
the Messiah. The call of God is always to something better - keep that in mind! God calls us into the joys and
reality of eternal life. He calls us into purity of life and spirit, so that we may acceptably walk with Him. He
calls us into a life of service and usefulness that brings glory to Himself as God. He calls us into the sweetest
fellowship possible on this earth - the fellowship of the family of God! If God takes away from us the old,
wrinkled, beat-up dollar bill we clutch so desperately, it is only because He wants to exchange it for the whole
federal mint, the entire treasury! He is saying, "I have in store for you all the resources of heaven. Help
yourself!"”

CAMP REPORT-Sewer has been fixed. Steps have been built.
Churches we still need your help. Have jobs for young and old.
EX. BOARD REPORT– 19 Churches attended. Business:
Dennis Whitaker was elected as trustee.
ALLANSVILLE– GA’S & RA’S participated in Children’s Ministry
Day on Feb. 19. We enjoyed hosting Associational Family Mission
Night on Feb. 25th. Join us on April 22 and 23 at 7 pm for our Easter
Passion Play. We are enjoying working with Ephesus Baptist Church on
the year’s play.
BEECH GROVE– The Church has new pews, new carpet, and new
wood floor in the Sunday School rooms. We the church gives God the
glory. Feb. 13th we had a chili supper and a great fellowship time. Feb.
27th, Bro. Marion Brewer accepted and the church voted 100% for Bro.
Brewer to be the Pastor of Beech Grove Baptist Church. We the Church
gives thanks to God for Bro. Brewer. On Mar. 20th, snacks and
fellowship are planned for the one’s that had birthdays in Mar.
BOONES CREEK– Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday April 23rd
from 10:30 am-1:30 pm. We will be at the park next to the Church.
Everyone is invited!
CALVARY-Long time member Anna Ruth Baker died Feb. 9th. Our
men shared their hearts with us on Baptist Men’s Day. Brittany
Berryman, Ashley Stone and Tiffany Trent were baptized. Our new
Adult Sunday School class is growing. Youth attended Winter Jam in
Lexington. Youth are going to raise a garden for the needy.
CENTRAL-Our Youth had Elevation 2011 on Mar. 11-13. On Palm
Sunday, April 17 our Worship Choir will present “Experiencing God”
and we will have a Maundy Thursday Service on April 22nd.
CLAY CITY-Planning Easter Services, Choir, Sunrise and
Breakfast.
CORINTH-Feb. 13th, Valentine’s Banquet held with 59 in
attendance. Cottage Prayer Meetings, Mar. 30th and April 6th at
6:30 pm. Revival– Sunday April 10th 11am and Eve. Worship
thru 13th at 6:30 pm. Bro. Cova Duvall to lead Revival Services,
Sun. AM thru Wed. PM Services. Sunday April 10th, Wendy and
Mike Klave will be leading the AM Worship Service Music
along with Dulcimer Group. Sun. Evening Service of Revival
April 10th, music with the Klaves-Stanton Baptist Church will
present Puppet Ministry. Tue. Night-Music with the Klaves.
Wed. night Special Music Pieces of Clay.
COW CREEK–Valentine Banquet for the Ladies was prepared
by the men, enjoyed by all. VBS July 11-15
EMMANUEL-Youth enjoyed Valentine Party-Taco supper.
WMU still collecting education labels for Oneida Baptist
Institute, we just sent them what we collected last year.
EPHESUS-Participating in Find it Here 2011 from Mar. 6-26.
Youth attending Winter Jam concert at Rupp Arena Mar. 12.
Spring cleaning Mar.19. Men’s Discipleship breakfast at Big
Boy’s on Mar. 26 at 9 am. TNT (Tuesday Nights in Town) at
Golden Corral on March 29 at 6:30pm. Community outreach
effort on April 2 at 10 am.
FAITH– We also had a planning meeting to schedule our Special
Services for the year and celebrated Valentine’s Day, which was
Bro. Todd and Becky’s wedding anniversary.
FRIENDSHIP-Valentine’s breakfast for the Ladies. Plans are on
going to buy a church van. Planning started for VBS.
GREENBRIAR–We had Birthday Dinner on 2-27-11 Pastor
McGee Birthday 2-23-11. The Dinner was after Church on the
27th. Pastor said to make it for everyone, which we always do.
Starting to think about Easter activities at Church. Will have
monthly business mtg.
HEIDELBERG–No Report
HERITAGE-On Mar. 13th our Morning Worship Service was led
by the gospel group “Sons of the Father”. Our ladies prepared
cookies and delivered them to the High School. We were excited
by the first report from our Worship Site Planning Committee.
HOWARDS MILL-No Report
IRVINE FIRST-Every Sunday night 5 pm Easter Cantata Choir
Practice. Mar. 15th Men’s work night. Mar.16th 5:30 pm Sunshine
Ladies Mtg. and 7 pm Prayer & Bible Study. Mar. 19th 6pm Fish
Fry, thanks to Reuben and Joyce Rose! Mar. 22nd Super Tuesday
Visitation (Everyone come and join others in visiting and invite
people to Church). Mar. 25th Youth Lock-In at Richmond YMCA
with Christian Worship Center. Jeremie Michael in concert at
EKU, did an outstanding job. (we are proud of you). April 20th,
Jewish Passover Meal everyone invited. April 23rd-all Children
Easter Egg Hunt noon at Church. Come on out and join us in
fellowship and worship the Lord.
IVORY HILL-We will be having a Birthday Supper and Singing
on Mar. 27,2011. We are planning a couple of clean up/fix up days
for our Church in April. We will be having an egg hunt for the
children on Sat. before Easter at 2pm. We also will be having a
Sunrise Service on Easter with breakfast served afterwards. Our
children are practicing now on an Easter play.
JEFFERSONVILLE-The Valentine Dinner at Cedar Village was
very well attended, there were actually 65 people there, including
children. Everyone had a wonderful time. Rev. Marion Brewer &
Janice won the couple prize that was married the longest. Had a
work day Sat. Feb. 26th. Replaced a door between Sanctuary and
the Fellowship Hall, with many other repairs throughout the
Church. Painting, cleaning, etc. Mar. 6th voted for Rev. JT
Rafferty with wife Sue to become our Interim Pastor. Mar. 6-13th
Week of Prayer for the North American Missions/Annie
Armstrong Easter Offerings. Started planning for an Easter Egg
Hunt for the Children, inviting the Community to come and
participate with the Church. Food, games, something for everyone
to do. Mar. 27th Fiesta Dinner, after Service Sunday night. Pot
Luck, anything Mexican, of course soft drinks and deserts. If
you’re having a lot of stress-come in the Lord, relax and enjoy a
blessed evening. See you in the Lord’s House every Sunday/
Wednesday. Bless you all.
KIDDVILLE-Working on VBS. Discussed our new sign.
MACEDONIA-We had Valentine Banquet on Feb. 11th. God is
working at Macedonia. We baptized 5 people this month. Ladies
going to Beth Moore Conference in June and Men are attending
Promise Keepers in Aug.
MEANS-Had a group attend the Mark Lowry concert. Youth
group attended the Youth Concert Winter Jam at Rupp Arena.
Held the annual Men’s Day of Testimonies service with Larry
Beer, Mike Rose, Roger Overbee, Alan Heitzman, and Julio
Gallegos all sharing their testimonies. Making plans for the 2011
Find it Here Prayer Campaign.
MT. OLIVE-No Report
NEW COVENANT REFORMED BC–Beginnings study. “Way
of the Master” with Ray Comfort, Wed. Nights at 7pm
NEW HOPE-Having Pulpit supplies and Pulpit Committee
working. Working on “Find it Here”.
NORTHSIDE-Our Church had a Valentine Banquet for all the
Seniors Citizens here at our Church and we had a good attendance.
PANOLA-Put up curtains at our Baptistery for winter months.
Looks good. Revival set for April 17-20 with Rev. Ray VanCamp.

NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS from the

POWELLS VALLEY–42 people attended our Valentine
Dinner at Cedar Village on Feb. 5th. Sunday School had a
Valentine Party for the Children on the 13th (31 students and
teachers). Award for ongoing contest was given. The Food
Ministry prepared and delivered 200 meals to residents in the
community on Feb. 26th. Several in our Church are participating
in the “Find it Here” campaign and praying for (3) souls. A
Revival is scheduled for April 28th-May 1st with Bro. Don
Mathis, Evangelist.
PROVIDENCE, C.C.–The Youth Group and some adults
attended the Mark Lowry Concert on Feb. 24. Youth and
Chaperons will attend the Christian Ministries in Louisville on
Mar. 4-5 and the Winter Jam in Lexington Mar. 12.
PROVIDENCE, E.C.-We would like to ask the Association to
be in Prayer for our Church as our Pastor of 13yrs. has resigned
and his last Sun. will be Mar. 27th. Please remember us as we
are forming a Pulpit Committee and beginning this process. We
want to make sure we stay focused on God, as He prepares our
hearts for the next man He sends to Providence. We thank God
for Bro. Bill, Teri, Kara & Matt, we are anxious to see where
God starts using them next, as they start a new chapter that God
had started in their lives. He has been a blessing to us. We are
having a Ladies’ Banquet on the 6th of May at the Fellowship
Hall.
REID VILLAGE-We had a Valentine’s Pasta Dinner on Sat.
Feb. 12th. Our couples played the newlywed game. Everyone
has a great time. Our WMU made Valentines for the Jail Inmates,
Nursing Home, Shepherd Shelter and Children for Gateway
Services. We made around 400 cards. Our children and youth are
studying hard on their Bible Drill. We are having a Revival
starting April 10th thru April 14th, Bro. Shad Tibbs is the
Evangelist.
SALEM-We have been collecting hygiene products to take to
Oneida. We also honored a sweet couple: Charles & Elsie
Redman on their 65th Wedding Anniversary. We plan to make a
Lilly Banquet by Easter to encourage everyone to give to the
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
SPEARS MILL–Feb. 13th had Valentine Spaghetti Dinner.
Sunday Feb. 27th Morning Service was led by our Youth. Bro.
Drew Martin is serving as our Interim Pastor. The Youth are
planning several activities in the future. A Family game night is
planned for Mar. 11th at Church. Plans are in the making for our
100 yr. Celebration. The date hasn’t been set yet.
SPRING STREET– Preparation for Easter Cantata and
Homecoming May 1st.
THOMAS-.Renovation work at the Parsonage is also complete.
VALLEY VIEW–No Report
WM. MEMORIAL– A special get-to-together for Valentines
Day was held, family and friends had a good time. Planning
VBS.
