Levels of Excellence
For AMF a prime objective is to ensure that both products and service levels never fall short
of excellent. The company’s high quality products all meet stringent European and British
standards. Performance levels achieved are clearly displayed in the AMF product literature so
specifiers and clients can be confident of selecting the right tile and system for the application
or project.

AMF recognise that service levels are critical to clients, specifiers and contractors. It is
imperative that the complete order is managed effectively and delivered to site on time for an
installation to run smoothly. AMF provides an excellent logistical service as well as offering
technical advice through both the specification process and during product installation.

At its manufacturing plant in Bavaria AMF has created a Centre of Excellence called The AMF
Forum. Specifiers, contractors and their clients have the opportunity to visit and see the
facility for themselves. The AMF Forum offers specialist specifier training, CPD presentations
and installation programmes as well as showcasing the company’s innovative products and
technology.

Levels of Sustainability
AMF accepts that the company has a responsibility
for the environment, and to the community in which
production facilities are located. It is the objective
of AMF to contribute where possible to adopt a
responsible attitude to protecting the environment
by developing innovative and sustainable
design solutions. To meet this objective AMF has
operated an environmental management system in
accordance with BS EN ISO 14001 since 2002.

Recent expenditure of over 70 million Euro has been
used to develop AMF’s ‘state of the art’ manufacturing
facility in Germany. This investment will enable AMF
to maintain its position as a leading innovator of
ceiling technology and continue to increase its output
of high quality, performance ceiling systems. Further
investments are currently planned to ensure leading
edge performance of AMF products and systems.

Rotherham Schools Project

Requiring a range of ceiling tiles for different acoustic performances, Balfour
Beatty chose to work with AMF products for the PFI projects for Rotherham
Schools. From high performance Thermatex dB Acoustic to the cost-effective
Filigran, AMF provided performance solutions that matched not only Balfour
Beatty’s needs but also the acoustic requirements of BB93. Richard
Littlewood, Commercial Manager at Balfour Beatty explains: “Initially we had
considered installing a plasterboard system with a general acoustic ceiling
tile in order to reach the required level of sound insulation. But because of
the outstanding acoustic levels achieved by Thermatex dB Acoustic we were
able to install just a single system and recognise substantial savings”.

Offices for Whittingham Riddell

To create a light and airy environment in new, purpose-built offices for
Whittingham Riddell, architects Grant Thorp opted for the clean, crisp
appearance of AMF Fine Stratos ceiling tiles. Partner Peter Grant comments:
“Fine Stratos was selected because its sharp aesthetics and light reflectance
properties worked well with the specialist lighting already specified. The client
was delighted with the finished interior”.
