The brothers at Spubs distributed an old praise of Shaykh Rabee' for Ubayd al-Jaabiree which
was recorded on the date:(2005/1/20), and some said even older (2003) however our brothers
distributed it without mentioning its date, so many people were mislead to think that it was a
new praise of Shaykh Rabee' for Ubayd which is not so. So I mentioned below a thread which
contains of the speech of Shaykh Rabee’ regarding Ubayd al-Jaabiree which is more recent
than that which they distributed, which they also did not distribute wAllahuMusta'aan.

Shaykh Rabee’ recent statements on Ubayd al-Jaabiree:

http://aloloom.net/vb/showthread.php?t=7365

Shaykh Rabee’s old praise for Ubayd al-Jaabiree which Spubs distributed and in which they
left off the newer statements concerning him:
http://salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=32&Topic=11862

Al-Imaam Abu Qilaabah Abdullah bin Zayd al-Jarmee, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “The
people of innovation take that which is for them and leave off that which is against them”.

Al-Imaam al-Waki’ee bin Jarraah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “The people of the sunnah
narrate that which is for them and that which is against them and the people of innovations
(only) narrate that which is for them”.

But however Spubs did not stop at that, rather they went on to comment:

Salafipublications (Spubs) said:

"This statement of Shaikh al-Allaamah Rabee' bin Haadee

is from a few years ago."1

This statement of yours is completely deceptive and misleading as it is from your habits to do
so, after some of the members on your forum differed regarding what the exact date of the
praise of Shaykh Rabee’ was, you have the gall to come along with an unclear and deceptive
statement in order to mislead the people to think other than what was mentioned regarding its
date and if what I say is not true then prove to us with a clear statement with proof otherwise.

This is from the pillars of Hizbiyyah as it was mentioned by ash-Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadee al-
Waadi’ee (may Alläh have mercy on him) in his treatise "Ahkämu-Tasweer" (Rulings of pictures)
(page 5):
“The pillars of Hizbiyyah (partisanship) are three:

1. Lying (al-Kadhib)
2. Deception (at-Tadlees)
3. Deceit (al-Khidä')

And Allah, The Most High, has said:

{ ‫} ﻭﻻ ﺗﻠﺒﺴﻮﺍ ﺍﳊﻖ ﺑﺎﻟﺒﺎﻃﻞ ﻭﺗﻜﺘﻤﻮﺍ ﺍﳊﻖ ﻭﺃﻧﺘﻢ ﺗﻌﻠﻤﻮﻥ‬

“And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth)” (Al-
Baqarah 2:42)

Spubs said:

"However, it still holds true as the Shaikh is still alive (may

Alläh preserve him) and he has not changed his view on his
brother and companion Shaikh Ubaid al-Jabiree (may Alläh
preserve him),"

So here you have rejected and denied the narrations of Shaykh Rabee’ that indicates his
displeasure of the awful stance of Ubayd al-Jäbiree in this Fitnah , let me ask, why do you
reject and deny the narrations of trustworthy narrators, is it because your fanaticism for Ubayd
al-Jäbiree has lead you to deny that which is true?

Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

"There is no fanaticism greater than (the fanaticism) that leads to untruthfulness…"5

Ash-Shaykh al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

"Whoever knows of the truth but however he rejects it out of fanaticism for their Imaams then
they are not to be excused and they are as Allah has said regarding them:

"walillaahil-hamd."

So you praise Alläh that ash-Shaykh Rabee' did not speak ill of Ubayd al-Jaabiree as you claim,
why is that? Is it because Ubayd al-Jäbiree gives you the fatwa that coincides with your desires
and acknowledges your deviation or is it based upon so called love for Ubayd al-Jäbiree? If so
then ash-Shaykh Säalih al-Fawzaan was asked the following question:

Q: What is the ruling on someone who loves a scholar or a caller and says: I love him very
much; I don’t want to hear about anyone refuting him...

A: This is Ta’asub (fanaticism), which is detested and condemned, and it is not permissible...We
must know this. Furthermore, we do not conceal the error out of our love for such and such
individual. Rather it is upon us to expose and clarify the error. The Prophet (sallAllähu 'alayhi
wa sallam) said: The Religion is Sincerity. We said: To whom? He (sallAllähu 'alayhi wa sallam)
said:To Alläh, to His Book, to His Messenger, the Muslim leaders and their common folk.
Clarifying the error falls under Sincerity to everyone. But as for concealing the error, then this
is in opposition to the Sincerity.7

Spubs said:

"And we visit Shaikh Rabee' regularly every year,

and he has never spoken except good about
Shaikh Ubaid al-Jabiree."

As has been proven previously that you brothers are contradictive in that which you narrate,
so we can not accept your narrations except from trustworthy individuals who are accurate in

that which they narrate and report. Also due to the fact that we have been prohibited to follow
those who have deviated and beg8 the people for their money, as Allah, has said:

{‫}ﺍﺗﺒﻌﻮﺍ ﻣﻦ ﻻ ﻳﺴﺄﻟﻜﻢ ﺃﺟﺮﺍ ﻭﻫﻢ ﻣﻬﺘﺪﻭﻥ‬

"follow those who ask no wages of you (for themselves), and who are rightly guided”
(36/21).

And Allah, The Most High has said:

(‫)ﻭﻻ ﺗﺘﺒﻌﻮﺍ ﺃﻫﻮﺍﺀ ﻗﻮﻡ ﻗﺪ ﺿﻠﻮﺍ ﻣﻦ ﻗﺒﻞ ﻭﺃﺿﻠﻮﺍ ﻛﺜﲑﺍ ﻭﺿﻠﻮﺍ ﻋﻦ ﺳﻮﺍﺀ ﺍﻟﺴﺒﻴﻞ‬

“And do not follow the vain desires of people who went astray in times gone by, and who
misled many and strayed (themselves) from the Right Path.”(5/77)

This includes either following them in their speech or otherwise.

Spubs said:

"And in general, the goodness and

trustworthiness of people remains so long as
there nothing presented to show that they have
opposed the truth. WAllähu a'lam."

I ask, who do you intend by this statement? If you brothers intend by this statement
yourselves then your narration is rejected due to what has proceeded and that which you have
narrated on Shaykh Rabee’ that he has never spoken about Ubayd al-Jäbiree except in good is
in opposition to the narrations of trustworthy individuals who have narrated the opposite of
what you have narrated and as the saying goes "The one affirming something has an increase
of knowledge from the one who negates something. So their narration is to be given
precedence over your narration"

8 Na’am ,yes you brothers do beg the people even if some of you claim on your Eid khutbah: “do you see Abu khadeejah
asking for himself do you see so and so asking for themselves…”. Changing the name of things doesn’t change its reality Ya
Mulabbis, deceptive one! Do you not beg the people for their money in order to pay off the wear and tear of your seven seater
along with the petrol of your car?!!! To the extent that if you are not given your pounds in accordance to the mile rate then NO
LECTURE?!!! Or how about brothers having to feel that there in debt with you when they call you for a lecture and cannot
afford your extortionate rates and thereafter have to pay you the remainder next time??? Or how about everyone being told
that the doors of ‘Masjid As-Salafi’ in Birmingham (‘Daar Al-Hijrah’) will be closed and that everyone has to give?? Or when
you demand brothers after your lecture to give twenty pounds each??? All of this and you do not beg? Ajeeb, very strange!!!
You must leave off this deception.
And if you intend that there was nothing presented to show that Ubayd al-Jäbiree opposes the
truth then you have lied and opposed the reality. 9

Spubs said:

"And in the case of the Shaikh, the

Allaamah Ubaid al-Jabiree, then he
remains upon istiqaamah, clarity and in
defense of the haqq."

I Advise you brothers not speak about that which you have no knowledge of, Allah; The Most
High has said in his noble book:

{ ‫} ﻭﻻ ﺗﻘﻒ ﻣﺎ ﻟﻴﺲ ﻟﻚ ﺑﻪ ﻋﻠﻢ ﺇﻥ ﺍﻟﺴﻤﻊ ﻭﺍﻟﺒﺼﺮ ﻭﺍﻟﻔﺆﺍﺩ ﻛﻞ ﺃﻭﻟﺌﻚ ﻛﺎﻥ ﻋﻨﻪ ﻣﺴﺌﻮﻻ‬

"And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have
no knowledge. Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be
questioned (by Allah)" (17/36)

Spubs said:

“He is an aalim of old age, spending decades in

teaching and protecting the Sunnah by Alläh's
permission.”

So is this the reason you have rejected Shaykh Yahya’s detail criticism due to him being an
aalim of old age teaching for a long time and due to him defending the People of the Sunnah
previously?
If so then this reason leads us all to cling to the rest of the deviants who are scholars of old age
and who have been teaching for decades and previously known to defend the Sunnah.

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said: You should not look at what the person used to do,
rather you should look at what kind of person they are today. The one who gets bogged down

9 Check the link below you find that which you denied http: http://aloloom.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=46
about people's pasts is just like Iblees who said to Allaah, "You created me from fire and you
created him from clay" [al-Minhaaj volume 2, page 430] 10

I advise our brothers and sisters not to follow Spubs in these statements of theirs, that which is
built upon emotions and desires.

Allah, The Most High, said:

( ‫) ﻭﻻ ﺗﺘﺒﻊ ﺃﻫﻮﺍﺀﻫﻢ ﻋﻤﺎ ﺟﺎﺀﻙ ﻣﻦ ﺍﳊﻖ‬

“And follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth that has come to you”
(5/48)

Spubs said:

"Furthermore, if anything, the scholars praise of him

has increased in recent times. He is a man who is the
teacher of some of the scholars of our times! "

So because of the number of those praising him are not decreasing and because they outweigh
the criticism against Ubayd we can not accept Shaykh Yahya's detail jarh against Ubayd? This is
from the principle of ‘Alee al-Halabee and those before him who have deviated, that which
you have denied to follow as you have previously claimed.

Ash-Shaykh Rabee', may Allah preserve him, was asked the following question:

Q: Some scholars have declared a person to be an innovator while others have not. If some of
the students follow those scholars that did not declare that person an innovator, is it
permissible for me to reprimand him?

Answer: This is from the Fitan (trials) that are present now. This is from the Fitan that are
present in this time amongst the people and it has lengthened. With the knowledge that many
of that youth know the truth. May Allaah bless you, and consensus is not a condition for
declaring someone an innovator or criticizing him. Rather it is enough for the statement of one
person in jarh wat tadeel. So if a group of people criticized and declared him to be an
innovator then that is sufficient for the Muslim who is seeking the truth. It is sufficient.

As for a person of desires nothing suffices him and he hangs on to spider webs. So there are

10 Taken from: http://aa.trinimuslims.com/showthread.php?t=8629

people who don't know this criticism and they are busy. And others who studied and know
that this individual is criticized and is worthy of being criticized, that he is a liar, lost his
integrity, that he insults the scholars and that he innovates false principles to demolish the
Salafee Manhaj and its people. They knew all of this, and after giving him advice which is not
obligatory, they advised him and clarified to him, and yet this individual refused. So they
were forced to declare him an innovator. So after this what excuse is there for the one who
stays like this hanging on to spider webs. Oh so and so gave him tazkiyyah! Oh, they have not
formed a consensus on declaring him an innovator! The one who did not declare him as an
innovator are split into people who (1) did not study an individual and they are to be excused
for not declaring him an innovator. (2) people who studied the situation and they are
defending falsehood. There are a people who studied and understood what he has from
falsehood but refused except to litigate on behalf of this innovator. These people- no weight is
given to them. And those who keep quiet have no evidence in their quietness. Those who
criticized and clarified what is in this person from criticism- what is obligatory for the muslim
is to accept the haqq because the proofs are with them. The proofs are with them! And the one
who hangs on to the spider's web has no excuse in front of Allaah azza wa jall. May Allaah
bless you.11

If you brothers have perfected your studies of science of hadeeth, you will come to know this is
not an excuse to reject the proofs and evidences brought forward against Ubayd al-Jäbiree.

These excuses of yours that you used to reject the detail Jarh against Ubayd al-Jaabiree are just
pathetic; this argument of yours is futile due to it being an argument built upon opposing the
truth. Allah, The Most High, said in rebuking those that rejected the truth:

Spubs here are using the differences of opinion of the scholars regarding the condition of
Ubayd al-Jaabiree as a proof not to accept what was brought forward against him of detail
disparagement, this is absolute ignorance.

AI-Imaam Ibn ‘Abdul Barr, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Spubs said:

Spubs said:

No rather we encourage the Salafis around the world not to benefit from deviants and that
they should make du'aa that Alläh protects them from their evil; Oh Alläh protects us from the
evil of the deviant Ubayd al-Jäbiree and the remainder of evil deviants.

Spubs said:

You have praised Ubayd al-Jäbiree over the proofs and evidence which could lead to praising
an individual over Alläh.

Advice:

It is obligatory upon the brothers at Spubs to return to the truth and accept it and write a
similar post showing their return to the way of the Salaf because returning to the truth is a
virtue.

As it been said:

‫ﺍﻻﻋﺘﺮﺍﻑ ﻋﻦ ﺍﳋﻄﺄ ﻓﻀﻴﻠﺔ‬

Admitting ones mistake is a virtue

“And speak the truth even if it is against yourselves” and “say the truth even if it is bitter” and
to return back to the truth is better than continuing upon falsehood, and Ahlus-Sunnah past
and present accept the truth and return to it, and this is counted amongst their virtues, and a
sign of their Knowledge and their Fear of Alläh.

Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radiyAllähu anhu) said: “Let not your judgment (verdict) of today
prevent you from backing up from your opinion and returning to the truth, for verily the truth
is since ever and nothing falsifies it and returning back to the truth is better than continuing
upon falsehood”

I ask Alläh to grant success (Tawfeeq) to these brothers to return back to the truth and accept
it. And may the Peace and Blessings be upon Alläh’s Messenger, his Companions and those
who follow them upon righteousness till the Day of Qiyaamah.
