Alderman-Elect Ameya Pawar of Ward 47 Transition


Announcement
Chicago, IL (March 23, 2011) - Alderman-elect Pawar is pleased to announce the formation of
his Transition Committee. The Committee is made up of residents and professionals in the 47th
Ward. The Committee members will assist him in ensuring a smooth transition when he takes
office on May 16 and help inform his legislative agenda.

Role and Responsibility of Transition Committee

The Transition Committee will be focused on three areas:


1. Information gathering and synthesis of various community perspectives
2. Transitional assistance from previous aldermanic administration
3. Informing the Alderman’s legislative agenda going forward

The role of the Transition Committee is to develop working groups across various community
impact areas as identified by the Alderman-elect. The Committee is responsible for identifying
and recruiting key individuals from across the ward that are relevant to the community impact
areas and coordinate meetings.

Working Groups

The working groups will bring together residents, businesses, social service and community
organizations to begin a dialogue on what works, what does not, and what this office can do to
best serve the community. After the initial transition phase is complete, these groups will meet
regularly to track legislative progress and report to the Alderman and his team.
