Romans 12:13

January-February 2011

F ebruary 2005 was the opening day of

very special day, Ambroise attended the
Community Baptist Church of Maluku. On this
meeting. I remember speaking with him after the
services. He had may questions, and was very skeptical but was also carefully searching for the truth. After our
church began to grow, we opened our Bible college and Ambroise attended the second year and graduated three
years later. Ambroise served in our church for a couple of years after his graduation. He had learned to play the
piano, lead the church choir and congregational music, and was the financial secretary of the church.

W hen Pastor O’Dell and I went to the Congo in November 2010, God worked in Ambroise’s heart to step out
by faith and plant a church in the village of N’Sele. Beginning in January of this year, Ambroise began to
make two trips per week, surveying the village. He had the opportunity to meet with the village chiefs both on the
customary side and on the government side. It was during these trips that the Lord began to soften the peoples’
hearts to the gospel. During the months of January and February
Ambroise led 25 people to the Lord. One of the believers opened his
property up for the temporary use of weekly meetings.

me a few months earlier. We
coupled their arrival with the new church plant. They arrived on
Thursday the 3rd of March and had several preaching engagements and
showed an evangelistic film on Saturday night at Community
Baptist Church of Maluku. Over 800 were in attendance and many
were saved. The film had touched peoples’ hearts. Many were in tears!
Sunday the 6th, the new church plant at N’Sele had over 230 in
attendance. The generator broke down, the film was not shown but 20
people trusted Christ as Savior. There have been a total of 45 saved
at this new church plant. They are averaging 32 on Sundays and 25 on
Wednesday evening Bible studies.

• Our family has attended several meetings and conferences over the past few
months. Two churches have taken a facet of the NETS Ministries on for monthly
support. A couple of other churches are waiting to see what the outcome of the finances are from their
mission conferences. We have several more meetings booked for the year and continue to book.
• We have been in touch with our new church plant in the Congo several times a week. What a glorious event, to
watch the gestation period, the birth, and now the daily growth of a new born church struggle for life.
• Our family is doing well, busy, and the kids have Spring fever. We are looking forward to Chrisann’s family
visiting with us in the middle of April for about a week.
