Job Title: GSA/Government Sales Representative

• Reports directly to the CEO/Owner

We are seeking a high-performing sales representative to identify, prioritize, strategize and close sales
opportunities in the Military & Government sector of our business. Position will be responsible for calling on
government accounts including, Military Bases, Navy, Army, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as
well as various municipalities, General Contractors and Architects who specify or secure established GSA and
Federal contracts.

The position requires that candidates have a demonstrated and documented track record of successfully
selling to Military Bases and GSA accounts. Retired Military Personnel or Civilians with experience in
Military Procurement and or MWR (Morale Welfare & Recreation) Specialist will also be considered.
Must have strong presentation and communication skills within the government/military sector and have
established contacts.

Primary Responsibilities:

This position's primary focus will be in the government sector serving both domestic and international
opportunities. The position serves as the primary contact for the client during the sales process and works with
the other playground support functions (design, management, territory representative/distributor if involved,
customer service and support, etc.) to ensure that client needs are met and client satisfaction is achieved. This
position requires a working knowledge of Federal government procurement procedures and GSA
contract requirements. Past experience should show in-depth focus on government/GSA or a blend of
government and commercial experience.

Other responsibilities include:

• Establish and personally execute a comprehensive sales plan to meet and exceed Revenue/Margin
objectives.
• Prospect in the marketplace for existing and new GSA playground equipment and safety surfacing
opportunities
• Make the sales calls to develop the necessary business relationships with various influencers (Architect,
Engineers and Design community, General Contractors and Housing Management companies,
government daycare operators, commanding officers, MWR professionals on base, etc.) in order to
identify and secure potential opportunities early
• Manage the day to day relationship with existing clients
• Lead the development of creative and innovative play solutions to meet client needs in a differentiated
manner. Collaborate with influencers to provide solutions that meet client functional, aesthetic and
budgetary requirements
• Lead the project strategy process. Identify and involve stakeholders involved to capture targeted
accounts and/or opportunities
• Perform the day to day follow up in an organized fashion, using the necessary tools to insure proper
follow up and control of every sales cycle

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum four years of direct selling experience to GSA, MWR or Military customers and or
government procurement experience. Qualified and experienced MWR professionals will also be
considered.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Computer literate (power point, word processing, spreadsheets, project applications, etc.)
• Broad knowledge of procurement practices and contract vehicles, particularly GSA business practices
and Federal Supply Schedule
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work with mathematical concepts
• Must be detailed oriented, self reliant, able to work in an unstructured environment and literate in
automated customer management systems
• Working knowledge of GSA contracts and processes including an understanding of Federal Government
procurement requirements and processes
• Demonstrated ability to “seed and grow” new customers - successful start-up/early-stage sales
experience strongly desired
• Willingness and desire to travel in support of sales activities and team success

The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking sales professional with at least 4+ years’ experience selling
to and or working in government accounts and Military Bases. Superior oral, written, interpersonal and
networking skills, including the ability to create presentations and proposals that impact colleagues and wins
new business are essential.

This newly created position will ideally be based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin but we will also consider and
accommodate exceptional candidates to be located remotely if such action is a required condition for
employment.
