About ELTIS :
Established in 1972 to impart English Language Skills to International Students, ELTIS is
the eldest member of the prestigious Symbiosis family of educational institutions.

ELTIS was the first institute started by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar. It was started with a view to
help the International Students acquire a reasonable command over the English
language, so as to facilitate further education through English medium. ELTIS had a
modest beginning: it started in 2 small rooms with 2 teachers. Today it has grown to the
stature of one of the best composite language schools of Western India. It is, today, a
proud constituent of Symbiosis International University accreditated in “A” grade by
NAAC. We have had students of 31 nationalities : Afghanistan, Bahrain, Burundi, China,
Congo, Cameroun, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Italy, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast,
Japan, Korea, Libya, Mongolia, Mozambique, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Russia, Saudi
Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam & Yemen. Students learn English as
a full time foundation course with us.

In 2006-07 ELTIS moved into a smart new campus of over 2500 sq. meters, having 18
spacious classrooms, 100-seat AC Auditorium, 2 Digital Language Labs, a well-equipped
Library and 2 AC Audio-visual Conference Rooms for effective teaching of the English
language programmes. ELTIS conducts ‘Diploma of Proficiency in English & Career Skills’
[one-year programme under the Symbiosis International University]. It also offers 4
intakes – (January, March, August & October) for ‘Certificate Course in English’. It has 12
full-time and 45 visiting faculty for English and most of them are Post-Graduates or more
in English. Very few other language schools will have such a vast teaching resource.
ELTIS is committed to creating an excellent learning environment for the International
students. We are dedicated to enhancing the growth of students through activities such
as Mini Film Festival, Gala Learning, Book Fair, Industrial Visit, Elocution Competition,
Hand Writing Contest, Drawing Competition, Cookery Competition and Skits & Quizzes.

About SIFIL :
It is a premier institute of Symbiosis that caters exclusively to the Foreign & Indian
Languages requirements of Indian & International students studying in India. It offers
Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level certificate courses in five foreign languages :
French, German, Spanish, Japanese & Chinese. It also has the ability to teach
Portuguese, Korean, Persian & Italian in addition to the courses in 3 Indian Languages,
(Hindi, Marathi & Sanskrit). It has 33 visiting faculty. SIFIL shares the same campus with
ELTIS.

ELTIS & SIFIL also undertake Corporate Training & Teacher Training assignments.
