I. Around the age of 14, teenagers start to discover who they are and what
they believe in. That’s why it’s common to change appearance and attitudes
as a way of expression.
II. Teens can act in different ways according to their company and situation at
the moment. This may cause confusion about their identities, because the
questions about who they are start to appear at this age.
III. Identity development is a process that involves teens understanding who
they are in many different terms. The self-identity developed during teenage
years becomes the basis of self-esteem later in life.
