Checking and updating your profile
Enrichment Diary • Student User Guide
Getting started
When you have logged-in, you will see a screen similar to the one below. As you
make your diary entries, they will appear here.
The Menu bars
at the top and
on the left-hand
side appear on
every screen.
These are used to
navigate around the
Enrichment Diary.
Your profile
One of the first things you will probably want to do is to check and update
your profile. Click on Profile in the top menu bar.
In the Personal section you can add your photo which you
can change at a later date. To amend any other details that
are not correct, click on change.
To begin with, leave the Progress monitoring, Show calendar, and Mirror
Messages settings as they are. If you want to be able to make journal entries
using MMS and SMS messages sent from your mobile phone, enter its
number where shown. Your number will not be visible to anyone else.
Click on Teachers in the top menu bar to see a list of the teachers registered on the
Enrichment Diary.
Click the Add User icon next to the name of your Enrichment Supervisor. A
message will then be sent to your Enrichment Supervisor so that when they
next login, they can agree to your request to confirm the link. Alternatively your
Enrichment Supervisor might have already sent you a request to link to them as one
of their students. In this case, simply click on the tick icon.

Uploading and managing assets
Enrichment Diary • Student User Guide
Uploading assets
Assets might be photographs, video clips or audio clips. You can also upload
scanned documents and documents already saved to your computer. You can
upload an asset directly to a post or you can upload an asset at any time, save it to
your diary and then attach the asset to a post later. To upload an asset either attach
it to a post as shown on page 6 or click the assets tab in the top toolbar. You can
upload the asset from the hard drive of your computer by clicking Upload a New
File at the end of a post or Upload new assets in your assets tab. In both cases, this
screen will appear:

Managing assets
Usually you will add assets (files on your hard-drive) as and when you need them
while composing a post. However you can also upload them in advance and
monitor and manage a complete list of all the assets you have uploaded.
When you click on Browse assets in a post, you will be able to see all of the assets
you have uploaded to your assets page. You will also be able to select and attach
any of those assets to your post.

Joining groups / Reflections
Enrichment Diary • Student User Guide
Joining groups
Groups might be created by teachers registered on the Enrichment Diary and are
used by them to send messages to the members of the group. This is an optional
function so you might not see any groups in the diary. If you are a member of the
choir, for example, you might join the choir group if tghere is one. To do this click
on Groups in the top toolbar. This will take you to a screen similar to this:
You can join each of the groups that are relevant to you. Do this by clicking on
the green button on the right. The owner of the group will then approve your
membership.
Reflections
The reflections page provides an opportunity to summarise your activities in the
three core areas and reflect on what you have gained from them. Your reflections
are not just a list of what you have done, but a chance to look back and think about
the impact they have had on you, your life and your ambitions.
The obvious time to do this is at the end of your course, but you might also wish
to make entries at other times, such as the end of each term, or prior to making
applications to universities or other institutions.
Your Enrichment
Supervisor will
advise you when
to complete your
Reflections page.
