ESCALA:

É a sucessão ascendente e descendente de notas diferentes consecutivas.

São classificadas quanto ao número de notas: 5 notas (pentatônica); 6 notas
(hexacordal); 7 notas (heptatônica); 12 notas (artificial ou cromática).
Quanto a utilização: Escalas naturais ou diatônicas. Escalas artificiais ou cromáticas.
Escalas exóticas e outras.

ESCALA MAIOR (natural ou diatônica):

É uma sequência de sete notas diferentes consecutivas (sendo a oitava a repetição

da primeira ou “fundamental”) guardando entre si intervalos de tom e/ou semitom,
organizados na seguinte disposição:

ANALITICAMENTE

Fundamental + tom + tom + ½ tom + tom + tom + tom

1° 2° 3° 4° 5° 6° 7°
