2011 BIBLE DRILL TEAM
This year’s Bible Drill Team, led by Sandra Vick,
Marlene McGough, Tina Sutton and Gail Royal, has
been busy preparing for upcoming drills! We are very
proud of these kids and their hard work! If you want to
see them in action, come to the Association Drill at
First Baptist Church Sunday, April 10, at 1 p.m. Bible
Drillers are: Katelyn Free, Mackenzie Battaglia, Emily
Jones, Baylee Hampsey, Brianna Spiers, Morgan
Prestage, Bethany Huckabee, Kalynn Hall, David
Walker, Matt Ragsdale, Jordan Hall, Alexa McGough,
Cassie Meyer, Braden McNees, Jack Singletary, Laura
Nickolson and Isaac Garrison. Thank you, leaders and

Secret Church
The next Secret Church is scheduled for
April 22nd. The college ministry will be
going to Birmingham, and we will be sell-
ing tickets to students first. We do have a
few extras for $10 for anyone wanting to travel with
us. If you want to go but don't want to drive to
Birmingham, the Auburn University-Montgomery
BCM is sponsoring a simulcast that is open to the
public. Get more details and buy tickets online at:

been before, I urge you to tell someone about your
experience. It is an intense night of Bible study and
worship led by Dr. David Platt, author of “Radical.”
Graduate Recognition
If you have graduated or will graduate with a higher
education degree (Associates, Bachelors, Masters, etc.)
between December 2010 and August 2011, we would
love to include you in our graduate recognition service
on May 1st. Please send two pictures (one dressy and
one fun/baby) to April at amullins@eastmont.org no
later than Sunday, April 17.
College Disciple Now
Make plans to attend Disciple Now in Orange Beach
June 16-18 (Thursday-Saturday). More details in the
coming weeks.

Call it a lack of faith if you want, but I was
completely surprised. I thought reaching 1206 in
Sunday School attendance was going to be a chal-
lenge, but to exceed it by 164…well, I was aston-
ished. When you look closely at the numbers,
every age group was successful. You have always
been a remarkable congregation. Thanks again for
working so hard and serving our Lord so faithfully.
When it comes to churches, I admit I have it
good. You are not a whining, complaining, criti-
cizing congregation. Yes, there may be an occa-
sional exception; I’ve even been guilty myself. But
the attitudes that dominate this fellowship are
gratitude, encouragement, positiveness and com-
passion. Ever wonder why that is? Here is what I
believe is the reason: You look up before you look
around. Just as you’ll never see a sunrise by look-
ing west, it is difficult to be happy if you never
look to God. Positive, healthy Christians will
interpret all by first looking to Christ.
At the close of a Los Angeles Crusade, a Time
magazine article quoted a liberal minister as say-
ing, “I believe he’s putting the church back 50
years.” Dr. Graham who never responds to critics
referred to the remark with kindness and humor:
“I’m afraid I’ve failed. I had hoped to put the
church back 2000 years.”

New Orleans Mission Trip - July 10-16, 2011

informational meeting in early May.
4th & G.O. (Gospel Outreach)
4th Monday & G.O. is a special
Outreach Ministry from March
through October. Deacons,
teachers, members, and church
staff will make door-to-door visits and phone calls
to church members, guests and prospects for a time
of prayer & praise!
What a wonderful day we had last Sunday. You
outdid yourself in Sunday School! 1,370 was
awesome! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We had over 200 guests - many of whom are
looking for a church home. Preschool, children,
students, college, and adults all exceeded their
goals.
Then, to top it all off, a dynamite Worship Service
at Heritage Sunday night. What a choir! What a
message! What a great time to be together with a
sister church. Thanks to every class, outreach
leader, teacher, and member for a job well done.
