Tired of having Google as the default search engine in Firefox? Maybe
it is another search engine¶s turn to be on top?! If you feel the urge to
dethrone Google as the default search engine for your Firefox search
box ± this is how you can get it done:

In your address bar, type in: ³about:config´

Inside of the filter search box, type in:

   



Double click that entry ë

 

  and then type in the name of the
search engine you wish to have as the default search engine. It must be one that you already have
installed and also make sure you type in the name correctly.

Now if you type in ³Yahoo´, restart Firefox and when your browser comes back up you will see
the red Yahoo ³Y´ and Yahoo as your default search engine.

The above script may fail on hotmail when opened in firefox! But don¶t worry, as you are in
Devil¶s Workshop!

firefox 2.0, I did not bothered to give IE 7.0 a try!

pages have frames so the above may fail! In fireox you can also right-click on any frame and can
open that frame separately in different window or tab and then can use any of above script!

security, on your discretion, you have an option to password protect all the passwords saved on
your browser called Master Password. Once you enable the option to use master password and
set a master password, the next time while opening firefox or trying to log into any site, you will
be prompted to provide your master password and it is only then, you can automatically log into
websites.

But what if your master password is lost? You will neither be able to access your existing
passwords nor you can use auto-login any more. In this case, you just need to reset the master
