The UPEU on the BBU has two Boolean input ports, as shown in the
following figure:
Boolean input ports on the UPEU in the upper part of the BBU:
− EXT-ALM0: port for Boolean inputs 0 to 3
− EXT-ALM1: port for Boolean inputs 4 to 7
The BBU supports a maximum of 16 Boolean inputs. Each UPEU
supports eight Boolean inputs. The BBU is configured with one UPEU in
the lower part by default.

Step 1: As shown in figure 1, set the alarm name, alarm level, and the
gateway categories on the MML. The command used on the MML is SET
ENVALMPARA. The alarm ID here is the alarm ID of the port to be set.

Step 2: In the MML input serial port, type the SET BTSENVALMPORT
command to set the high and low voltage levels of the dry contacts on the
UPEU.

Note: For the current BTS in the BSC6900, the numbers of the ports on the PEU in
both upper and lower parts of the PEU are in range of 0 to 7.
The alarm ID of Boolean alarm which can be defined by the user starts from
65033 to 65533.
