Hykaru and Harlan are sitting on a bench, adjacent from Kota. Exhausted and tired from the massive battle

that just recently happened, both parties seem interested in learning more about each other…

Harlan: Wow, I didn’t think you were so powerful, Hykaru. I’m impressed.

Hykaru: Well that’s one thing you didn’t really know about me.

Harlan: Fair enough, but still, well done. (Looks at Kota, chuckles) I doubt he even

knows this battle is over.

Hykaru: Hardly doubt it.

Harlan: Who really knows when it comes to Kota? Better off going over there to make

amends, huh?

Hykaru: Do I have to?

Harlan: You’re makin’ it seem as if I’m makin’ you do it yourself. I’m going too, you

know.

Hykaru: Whatever. Seems like a waste of a walk to me.

(Harlan and Hykaru walk toward Kota)

Kota: (Angrily) what do you want?!

Hykaru: [to Harlan] You see why I didn’t want to come?

Harlan: (pulls Hykaru to side) [to Hykaru] We’ve gone this far, may as well keep going.

Hykaru: (sighs) Oh my gosh!!

Harlan: (Angrily) [to Hykaru] Stop complaining! We’re doin’ this

Kota: (Snaps fingers) Hello? Still here, you know.

Harlan: (Looks at Kota) No disrespect but I’m kinda dealing with something here

(gestures to Hykaru)
[Hykaru and Kota growl but stay silent]

Harlan: Look at that! You two are speaking in the same language, cavemanese.

Hykaru: Do you have to joke now of all times?

Harlan: Is it making you angry?

Hykaru: A little…

Harlan: Then that’s why.

Kota: I feel like I’m being left out.

Hykaru: The idiot has a point… we did come over here with him in mind.

[Harlan holds Kota back as he tries to pulverize Hykaru]

Kota: You little runt, I’ll kill you.

[Harlan grabs Hykaru, while still holding Kota]

Hykaru: Runt?! Ok, this runt is gonna whoop your…

Harlan: ENOUGH!!!(Throws both to the ground and walks to Hykaru) If you’ve

forgotten, we have things to do! (Looks at Kota) I seriously doubt if you two have any

self control at all. (Sits on bench) Now unless you two can get along long enough to get

some work done, I suggest we get going.

Kota: Where are you two going?

Harlan: Back to the city, we gotta get some stuff from my apartment.

Hykaru: …I bet he’s gonna ask…

Kota: Mind if I tag along?

Hykaru: Look at that, I’m right.

Harlan: (rubs temple) We don’t have time for this!

[Kota looks at Harlan with a sincere look]

Harlan: Don’t even say anything, just come on.

[Kota follows as they walk to a hill]

(End Of Part 1)

Enter Into Argument between Hykaru and Kota, Harlan is between them with arms

outstretched, seems to be holding them back

Kota: (Sword engulfed in darkness) …he didn’t specifically say no

Hykaru: (Snow swirls around sword) This is a group choice, not just his.

Harlan: (Hands are starting to set on fire) How is it gonna be group choice if there’s only

two of us

Hykaru: I don’t know, why does he have to join?

Kota: Because…(Harlan’s hand covers his mouth)

Harlan: Because he wanted to, and, no offence but, the two man fight squad was getting

old.

Kota: (Darkness dissipates and he folds his arms) Seriously?

Harlan: No, but if I said the real reason, you’d probably laugh

(Kota sits on bench, Hykaru waits around side of hill)

Kota: Try me.

(Harlan hesitates, Then explains)

Harlan: I need your help with solving a mystery of my past, something to do with the

death of your parallel.

(Hykaru sneaks over)

Kota: What happened to him is no concern of mine

Harlan: I don't suppose you'd listen to reason

Kota: Would you?

Harlan: (thinks then reluctantly says) Solve a mystery about the other me’s death as

reason…not really...

[Harlan looks at Hykaru, who jumps in surprise]

Harlan: (smirks) I don't suppose you have anything to add to this, do you?

Hykaru: (gestures to Kota) Besides him being an idiot?

Kota: (conjures up dark ball) why don't you come here? we'll see who the real

idiot is.

Harlan: [To self] That didn't take long. [Out loud] Hey guys, aren't we all

friends here...or at least in some sense, co-workers. Look, the faster we learn

to work together, the better chance we have at saving this world and whatever crazed

world you came from.

Hykaru:(raises brow) Tell me you don't expect me to work with him?

Kota: Seriously!

Harlan: (rubs bridge of nose) I swear, you two are like little kids. As a team,

we have to work together.

Kota: Whatever...

Harlan: (Sits on ground)[To Self] This is gonna be a long day…

(Harlan looks toward city, look of surprise is seen on his face)

Harlan: Anybody remember there being a black fog where New York is supposed to be?

(Both Kota and Hykaru look toward city)

Kota: Wow, this place is starting to look like home. (sits down and eats sandwich)

(both Harlan and Hykaru look at each other, then at Kota with suspicion)
Hykaru: [To Harlan] Looks like home, huh? Maybe it is… you don’t think…

Harlan: You gotta be kiddin’ me! [To Kota] Tell me this ain’t your doing.

Kota: (looks up angrily) Don’t go throwing your accusations at me, I am just as shocked

as you.

Hykaru: There’s no proof saying that he did anything, I was just saying…you know,

maybe?

Harlan: (Thinks, then grabs his stuff) Well, point taken, we gotta go check it out anyway.

(Harlan and Hykaru walk toward path)

Kota: Alright, but I’m gonna eat first.

Harlan: (Without turning around) Get up or I’ll turn that thing into ash

Kota: (Jokingly) Does someone need a hug? (snickers)

(A jet of flame bursts from the ground behind Kota.)

Kota: (Jumps up and up to them. )Ok, I quit, let’s go.

(The three leave the hill and walk toward the city)

Kota: My home is starting to look a lot more preferable.

Harlan: Seriously, this place is trashed

Hykaru: I’ll say

Kota: I wonder how bad this is going to get.

Harlan: Rather not stick around and find out.

Hykaru: I think we should check it out

Kota: I think that’s the most interesting thing you’ve said all day!

Hykaru: Shut up, let’s just go

Harlan: Seriously, you two can’t go a day without talking about the other

Kota: I guess not. It’s just our nature.

Harlan: Be serious, dude (picks up weird concrete slab)

Hykaru: Harlan you know me not to take anything really serious

Harlan: Not gonna go any deeper on that subterrainean subject… (examines slab) check

this out!

Kota: What is it?

(Hykaru and Kota walk over)

Harlan: Kota, you recognize these markings?

Kota: Yeah (looks at slab) those are “Dark Temple” markings, but what are they doing

here?

Hykaru: I’m gonna take a long shot here and say your world.

Kota: more like in between my world and this one

Harlan: These came…(he turns his head)from the temple I trained in a few years back.
(Harlan hands the slab to Kota and sits down)

Kota: I think that our worlds are slowly crossing over each other witch cant be good.

Hykaru: Umm, what temple?

Harlan: [To Self] It’s been so long since I left, since I felt this pain…why has it come

again?

Kota: The dark temple is in a place called Bintwenxy.(Kota draws a picture)

(Hykaru looks at picture and bursts out laughing)

Hykaru: (ROFL) Harlan, HAHA, look at it!!!

Harlan: (Looks hard at picture) Ok, I’ll bite. What was the point of drawing that? To

give him a headache

Kota: To give him a visual reference

Harlan: (looks at drawing again) The Drawing is terrible

Kota: You just jealous of my drawing sk…

(Kota‘s picture bursts into flames)

Kota: Hey!

Harlan: (Snickers) My bad, itchy trigger finger.

(Hykaru bursts out laughing again)

Kota: Anyways… It’s the crossroads of every world. It also maintains the order of those

worlds.(looks to the sky) I thought that if I went there I could solve the problems in my

world.

Hykaru: I guess you thought wrong. Heck, you’re probably the reason why things got

this bad!

Kota: SHUT UP!!! You know nothing of what happened!

Hykaru: And?!

Kota: You have no right to speak about something you know nothing about!

Hykaru: Nothing! You know what?! Forget it, idiot!

Kota: Want me to make you forget

EVERYTHING!

(a massive rumbling interrupts them)

Kota: Wow, Harlan! You hate our arguing that much.

Harlan: Don’t look at me! I’m a fire guy, remember?(snaps fingers and burns fake tree)

Hykaru: I see nothing frozen here, so it’s not me

(bolt of lightning hits central square then bounces back up)

Harlan: That can’t be good

Hykaru: Let’s check it out already !!

Harlan: Honestly, I think we have enough evidence

Kota: I think this is gonna be fun

(Hykaru runs out to central square)

Harlan: [to Kota] That seemed too much like Elder Powers. Perhaps that part of the

temple may have made it over.

Kota: We’ll know soon enough.

Hykaru: (digging) You gonna have me do all the work?

(both walk over while Hykaru digs through rubble)

Hykaru: Hurry up you two!

(slight tremor rolls past)

Harlan: Did you find anything?

Hykaru: I think so.

(Hykaru holds up a cryptographic lock)

Harlan: Can it be a coincidence?

Kota: Can’t be, that has to be the lock from the temple…

Hykaru: a lock?

Kota: No, just a portrait of your brain...(Slaps Hykaru in the back of the head)Yes a lock

Harlan: Calm down (points to the dials) These were the greatest in security, if you put in

the wrong code, it could never be opened.

Kota: There was many installed during the war times as people raged to reach the

supreme power that the elders possessed (looks at large empty panel)…look there.

(Kota points to a large door, they walk towards it)

Harlan: My fears have now been realized, let’s go

Kota: We just found the biggest clue possible. We’re not leaving until we check it out.

Hykaru: And this is?

Kota: One of the chambers where the Elders supposedly resided.

(Massive rumbling shakes the ground harder than last time)

Kota: Ok, let’s get out of here!

Harlan: You ain’t gotta tell me twice

Hykaru: I’m with ya’ll

(They run out of the city, back to the hill. The city collapses into a sinkhole)

Hykaru: (coughs) That was a bit too close for comfort.

Harlan: (breathing hard) Seriously

Kota: Well ( nervously chuckles) now we know.

Harlan: Oh yeah, that’s funny, moron. (pulls out slab) I still have the tablet, you got the

cryptograph?

Hykaru: (Pulls cryptograph out of bag) Yeah

Kota: Looking for something in particular?

Harlan: (Looks at Kota and points at Desuryu) Desuryu has an inscription on it, it may

help out if I can refresh my memory using these(Lifts up the slab and the lock).

Hykaru: (Points at symbol) Doesn’t that mean Earth?

Harlan: (Nods)And the symbol next to it is…Elder (reads passage)“The Chamber of The

Elder of Earth”

Kota: Least we know who’s out now.

Harlan: [To Self] There’s no telling how they’ll be now.

(A flash of lightning jumps from the hole, into the sky)

Hykaru: There may be more to this than we think. Harlan, you remember those guys

who crashed the New Year’s Party?

Harlan: That flash did look familiar to that one guy‘s. You think Renji’s gang is behind

this?

Hykaru: Well, it’s a theory, just keep your eyes open.

(Harlan walks up to Kota, Desuryu in hand)

Harlan: [To Kota] No harm in checking it out, right?

Kota: (Nods) True, but in this case, you’re on your own.

(Hykaru nods in agreement)

Harlan: Be back, keep your eyes open.

Kota: Be back quick, I’m getting hungry.

(Harlan and Hykaru runs off hill toward sinkhole)

{5 Minutes Later}

Kota: (looks for bag) Where is that bag. I need my notebook (stops in realization) Did

Harlan take it?

(flashback to Harlan walking away with the bag on his back)

Kota: (quickly grabs stuff) Oh, yeah. That’s just hilarious, Harlan. Force me to follow

after you, I’m just cracking up.

(Kota runs toward sinkhole, muttering remarks)
