The Waltherson Improvement Association, Inc. (WIA) is a 501(C)4, nonprofit community association that has served the Waltherson neighborhood in northeast Baltimore since 1943. The association was formed to recognize the need for improvements in this immediate neighborhood, to promote the general welfare of the community, and to afford organized discussion and action on general and specific civic problems. WIA represents the interests of all residents and the entire business community within the boundaries below; however the privilege to vote and to serve on the Board of Directors is reserved to members in good standing whose dues are current. East Boundary: West side of Belair Road from Moravia Road to Hamilton Ave. North Boundary: South side of Hamilton Ave from Belair Road to Harford Rd. West Boundary: East side of Harford Road from Hamilton Avenue to Southern Avenue. South Boundary: North side of Southern Avenue from Harford Road to Eugene Avenue from Southern Avenue to Grenton Avenue; Grenton Avenue from Eugene Avenue to Luerssen Avenue; Luerssen Avenue from Grenton Avenue to Moravia Avenue; north side of Moravia Avenue from Luerssen Avenue to Belair Rd

Community meetings are scheduled every quarter (Feb, May, Aug, Nov) on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m at Harbel (5807 Harford Rd). There are many opportunities for members to serve on the Board of Directors or in one of many WIA representative capacities to local, special interest committees. Our monthly community newsletter, the Walthersonian, reports on topical issues affecting residents and businesses and includes ads that may be purchased through the association.
