HISTORY

The Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited


(HDFC) was amongst the first to receive an 'in principle'
approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up
a bank in the private sector, as part of the RBI's
liberalisation of the Indian Banking Industry in 1994.
The bank was incorporated in August 1994 in the name
of 'HDFC Bank Limited', with its registered office in
Mumbai, India. HDFC Bank commenced operations as
a Scheduled Commercial Bank in January 1995.
Organization's strategy

Their business strategy emphasizes the following :

Increase the market share in India’s expanding banking and


financial services industry by following a disciplined growth
strategy focusing on quality and not on quantity and delivering
high quality customer service.

Leverage the technology platform and open scaleable systems to


deliver more products to more customers and to control operating
costs.

Maintain the current high standards for asset quality through


disciplined credit risk management.
Develop innovative products and services that attract the
targeted customers and address inefficiencies in the Indian
financial sector.

Continue to develop products and services that reduce the cost


of funds.

Focus on high earnings growth with low volatility.

ANALYSIS
 Employee of the organization feels that there is very less
provision for the training in the organization and if there is
any conflict occur among employees they cannot handle it
more effectively, employee has to take care of himself.
But still there is quite satisfaction among the employees
and they like the working culture of the organization may
be because of the management emphasize more on
performance appraisal of the employee, that can be the
reason the employee stays in the organization at least 1
year. But the employees do not know at the time of task
allotted that how this work will be proceeding. There is no
meeting held on the regular basis. That’s why there is
strongly need of OD practioner in the organization
otherwise the organization will loose the productivity of
the employees because the employee only stay in the
organization because of it’s luxury life.
SUGGESTIONS
Training to the employees in the right way is an important
step towards improving your organization’s work culture.
When the employees know how to do things the in a right
way and what the company expects from them, the rate of
conflicts and errors can be minimized and they can work
effectively as a team.
an unbiased, transparent and impartial work culture
should be created so that the employees feel that they are
being treated equally as others.
Advice to Management :

§ Should take on a review on a quarterly basis,


so that an employee could come to know his
goal, target expected.
§ if there is any mis out during one quarter, can
lead in rest of the three quarters. To improve
his ability and attitude towards working hard.
§ Performance appraisal should not be done on
a partial note, its is unjustified with ones
performance.
§ One last but not the least, management
should conduct learning session for all levels
of employees on a regular intervals
SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENT

Although we see that majority of the


employees feel that the organization has an
better work culture and the employees even
appreciate their teamwork but if we analyze
the questionnaires deeply we see that some
of the employees are still not satisfied with
their organization. Thus in order to improve
the present situation the organization needs
to fulfill all the employees aspirations. This
the firm can do in many ways:

➢ A career path that provides opportunities for


advancement.
➢ Better management and effective
communications.
➢ Reasonable workload .
➢ Engage by concentrating on areas- training and
development , proper conflict handling,
mentoring, regular meetings.
