Succeeding at Mahindra requires a combination of creativity, critical thinking, and people skills.
We seek talented, self-motivated workers who take the initiative to pursue new ideas and enjoy
learning on the job. We want innovative thinkers who take well reasoned risks and think
critically about how to improve existing processes.

Good people skills are an imperative. We need people who work effectively on teams, value
individual dignity, and respect the time and efforts of others.

Hiring Process
The recruitment process for Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam begins in September with a
round of campus visits. We send a recruitment team to hold a series of on-campus information
sessions. Currently, we recruit from the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), IIITs (Indian
Institutes of Information Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), BITs (Birla
Institutes of Technology), VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology), PSG College of Technology
Coimbatore, and some tier 2 schools. In FY11, we will recruit about 5,000 outstanding technical
experts.

Applicants must pass eligibility criteria based on their academic performance.


 Standard 10: minimum score of 60%
 Standard 12: minimum score of 60%
 Graduation: Cumulative minimum score of 60% over all four years
 Not more than two backlogs
 No backlog as of date of joining
 Less than a one-year gap between Standard 12 and graduation

Eligible candidates are invited to appear for an online test. The test covers non-verbal logical
and analytical skills, verbal logical analytical skills, numerical mathematical ability, and English.

Candidates who pass the written test are called for technical interviews to evaluate their
functional domain knowledge in their field of engineering.

Next, our Human Resources team holds interviews later that day. This interview helps us match
candidates with positions they will enjoy and excel at. Offers are extended immediately after
the HR interview.

The final step in the process is a medical exam at a Mahindra-approved clinic to make sure you
are physically fit to do your job.

Salary
You will receive a competitive salary that increases with educational attainment, so that you
receive higher compensation if you hold an Engineering degree than if you hold a Bachelor of
Science degree.

Your first year will be a probation period dedicated to training, assessment, and assignment to
a project. When employment is confirmed at the end of the year, you will receive a 10 percent
salary increase.

We believe in meritocracy. Our incentive plans reward hard work and personal achievement.
At the end of each fiscal year, we award performance pay determined by both the performance
of your business and your personal performance.

Mahindra Satyam has created an enterprise-wide learning ecosystem called Mahindra


Satyam Learning World (MSLW) to support the learning and development needs of all

from entry level to senior leadership, MSLW provides the support for continuous
learning and skill development over the course of your career.

MSLW uses a combination of classroom training, virtual learning courses, webinars, and
webcasts to develop technical, domain, and process education; managerial and
behavioral expertise; leadership development; and culture and foreign language training.
MSLW also partners with BITS Pilani to offer a Masters in Software Engineering for
employees who want to pursue higher education while working. This program prepares
employees for promotion to Senior Software Engineer within two years and Specialist
within three to six years.

Tech Mahindra offers education sponsorships to foster continuous learning. We partner


with institutions including IIT Mumbai, BITS Pilani, University College, London and the
Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. We are the first company to join IIT’s Distance
Education Program to impart higher education to employees in the field of IT and
Project Management. Launched in 2003, our work-integrated learning programs with
BITS enable employees to pursue further expertise in Telecommunications and Software
engineering. We also support employees who wish to undertake Masters or Doctorate
programs in top Indian business schools or at leading universities in other countries. We
offer sponsorships that cover 40 to 50 percent of the course fees, and those that
achieve top grades can obtain sponsorships up to 100 percent.

Inter-Sector
Our structure as a federation of more than 40 companies in diverse industries gives our

International postings usually last for two years. Depending on the project and the length of
your stay, you will either earn an offshore salary with incentives or an onsite salary.
